I went in on a Sunday afternoon at 3 as it was Father's Day and we were afraid they would be busy as we had a party of 10. We were seated right away and they had our drinks out quickly. We ordered 2 bowls of queso with ground beef which has always been consistently good at this location. I had the chipotle cream enchiladas. They weren't spicy and were a bit bland. Food was reasonably priced and the SERVERS were great. On the other hand the host Melanie was terrible, her attitude when was probably the worst I've seen in the service industry and that says ALOT. Had an issue with the claw machine that took the money but didn't work- we first asked her how much it was she said "it says it on there" very rude then her response to it taking the money was "sorry that's not our problem". I've been in the industry for years and the host is supposed to set the tone as soon as you walk in and her attitude and responses to simple questions were absolutely outrageous. read more

Si! Yes, we liked it! Yes to quesadillas, shrimp enchiladas, and queso! Quesadilla Kids enjoyed the full size quesadillas with fajita chicken. He said we could get the guacamole on the side or substitute it for beans or rice, but it doesn't come with beans or rice normally. They could've shared one order because it's essentially 2. We decided to ask for the pico/quacamole on the side instead of the rice or beans, but they forgot to put it in take out bag. Seafood Enchiladas Si! Delicioso!!! They use large shrimp. They were fresh. You have two choices on sauce the seafood sauce or the chipotle cream sauce. Both a red type sauce. The seafood sauce was perfect. Mildly spicey and flavorful. But people also like the chipotle-he said. It's like a cream cheese chipotle sauce. Queso Yupper! Kids approved. They're picky. Street tacos-meh. I wouldn't recommend them. 5 tacos. Plenty. This Used to be the place to go. Service isn't what it used to be. Me and my friend went in there on a Wednesday afternoon, their off time and a fill in manager was working. I had been going there pretty regularly when they opened and have spent a-lot of time and money in there. Their younger fill in manager was rude, acted as if we weren't welcomed. Sent a new girl over to the table, personality of a horsefly. We wanted to have a couple of margaritas and then order take out. It's our girl time, we visit...and catch up. They just wanted us to order & get out. We tried several times to order a second drink, but it was never delivered to us. She just wanted us to order and go. We were the only ones in bar area...and pretty much the entire restaurant. You would think that you would appreciate the business during slow times. We ended up getting our tab and was confronted from manager about me saying I was trying leaving a tip. We left without several orders of take out and more drinks on our tab. We went out in parking lot and finished our visit. I tried to speak with owners/ managers, but they just blew me off. Its too bad, We found other places to go like Mezcal Cantina. Much nicer, better drinks, better food. Not a neighborhood hole in the wall, where depending on days you go the service is so unpleasant. and unpredictable. What can I say about Julio's? Well, for starters, I am not a huge fan of their food. I feel like I am the only person in the area that doesn't rave about their food. I have been a few times and have tried a few things on the menu. Out of all the things that I have tried, I think the taquitos are the best thing on the menu. My sister and her husband love this place, so I will be back... I'll just stick with the taquitos. Great TexMex in the Home Depot shopping center, facing 1488. Closer to Eden Cafe. Hubs had Cheese Enchiladas, rice and charro beans and guacamole. I tasted the Enchiladas and the cheese was so abundant. He liked his selection. They served chips and salsa and hubs it was extremely tasteful. As you see from my picture my entree was Sopapillas. Why 5 stars? Because this might be our favorite Tex-Mex in the area now. --- --- --- While I was tempted to order about half of the menu, I stuck with my tried and true go-to of steak fajitas. Fajitas are at their best when delivered to your table amongst a storm of sizzling smoke, but we settled for the the visually lethargic version that sits inside of a styrofoam box. And they were still awesome. Honestly, everything was. The rice and beans, the chips and queso and my wife's tacos al carbon. We could not think of a single complaint after this meal was done. I had the Julio's location in Spring bookmarked for a while and we almost went there this past weekend, but meanwhile, I had no idea this location existed, which is much closer to our house. The rice and refried beans were tasteless (like so many TexMex restaurants) with no option for charro beans instead. The queso appetizer ($10) was plentiful and good. The kids liked their grilled cheese sandwiches. The red "hot" sauce was tasty but not at all spicy while the green hot sauce was drab. Not only was he extremely personable, he was indubitably attentive and wonderfully professional. We've driven by this place a bunch and finally stopped in during a Home Depot trip. My son ordered the Chimichanga, of which he's become an aficionado. He said it was one of the better ones he's had. Nice and crispy and loaded with meat. I had one of the combo plates and it was very tasty. Typically, a Tex Mex joint does one thing well. Either the tacos/enchiladas/etc. are great and the grill sucks, or vice versa. Not the case here. It has become our go-to spot in New Magnolia. read more
