The wontons had imitation crab that was more of a gew than pieces the general tso had a lot of sauce (what's great) but very very spicy maybe a little over loaded on the spice. I visit this area of NC at least once a year. I guess I'm a littel spiled with all the good options here in NJ. I rounded up to 3 Stars only because they are nice. It is in a strip mall with plenty of parking. NO ambiance or eating onsite. Strictly pick up. Food was meh to ew. read more

Since they went with new ownership or whatever happened, the food is solid. It looks like a basic Chinese joint, but they are using much higher quality ingredients and them boys are cooking it up right. I definitely recommend. service was quick and polite. We've eaten there many times over the past 1 1/2 years. But the last 2 times my wife has gotten very sick with sharp pains in her stomach. It is not something that goes away in a few hours but takes a few days to get back to normal. read more

Was craving Chinese food and decided to give this one a try. The food was made in the quick time they told me. We got dumplings and Crab Rangoon for appetizers. Normally I really judge a place by their dumplings, and these were perfect!! The dough part wasn't thick and it was steamed perfectly and tasted great! Loved the crab Rangoon as well. Hubby had the general tsos and enjoyed it. I had the sweet and sour chicken and enjoyed it especially with the pork fried rice. The egg rolls were great too, even cold for the ones I saved for later. After reading these good reviews we decided to give this place a try. The other 2 Chinese restaurants in the area have been inconsistent, not so good, and we were anxious to find better. Sorry to say we did not find it here.. The Mongolian Beef tasted pretty good, but should have been called Mongolian Onions and Noodles (never had Mongolian Beef with noodles in it) There was very little Beef to be found, and tiny pieces at that. The Crab Ragoons were very greasy and tough. The Egg Rolls were large and full of cabbage, but also a little tough. The Chicken Lo Mein had really thick noodles, tiny pieces of chicken, and very little of that. Also it had a somewhat smoky taste, threw half of it away. This place is the Bomb!!! No joke, my wife and I just moved back to the area from Raleigh and there were many choices for Chinese food there, but this by far is the best place we've been to. Its a little whole in the wall, but they know how to cook! I've had sesame chicken, crab rangoons, vegetable lo mein and spring rolls. The orange chicken was bad, and the fried rice was under it so I also didn't eat all of that. The egg roll that I didn't know came with the meal was surprisingly good. Sometimes you just gotta get that fast food Chinese fix. If that sounds like you then this is your place in the Jacksonville area. Saying that though is like saying you're the least smelliest person. At the end of the day, you still stink. And at the end of the day, it's Chinese food in Jacksonville, NC and none of these places compare to fast food Chinese in a big city. On to the food, the food is hot and made quickly. I placed my order and went next door to buy milk. By the time I was done (10 min) my food was already waiting. Got it home and my general tso's wasn't too bad. The sweet and sour chicken had more batter than actual chicken but decent. The crab rangoons had no real discernible flavor. The best Chinese restaurant in Onslow County, hands down. I usually go there after I make the trip to Jacksonville to get takeout to take back home to Morehead City. The char siu and veggies is my favorite dish. I also love their egg rolls (huge and full of veggies and pork) and wonton soup. The owners don't talk much, but don't take it personally. The food more than makes up for their bland personalities. The restaurant is always clean and well maintained, unlike other Jacksonville restaurants. Their egg-rolls delicious are made in house... and are not skimpy. We like their chicken & beef with broccoli. Their Egg Foo Young with gravy is on point. You just have to drain the oil it is fried in with a paper towel... because it gets fried in oil to cook the egg quickly and gets transferred from the oil to the container. I am new here and went there for food with my pregnant friend. After waiting an hour for our food my teriyaki chicken was way over cooked to the point I couldn't chew it (literally took me about 15 minutes). Then I barley had any noodles in my lo mien mostly veggies. Then when my pregnant friend was eating hers she found a Long piece of metal wire in her lo mien I will never eat here again and I highly recommend you don't either. read more

We have tried so many Chinese places in town- this is by far the best. Their combination lo mien and Orange chicken are our favorites.

Terrible!! "La Shi" 1 star because you can't leave none! ordered 2 general Tso's combo with "FRESH" egg rolls. Egg Rolls were re-fried and shiny with old grease, inside wonton wrapper was funk yellow green color and stiff like yesterday! nasty grease all over my hands! chicken was stringy, dry and chewy had to spit it out. sauce had funny smell to it almost floral chemical smell. my Daughter and I ate what chicken we could and I brought egg rolls back a told them they were Sh%#!, by the time I left the house my stomach was already upset as was my kid's also! I ate there years ago and it was bad, I tried it again and I shouldn't have! go to Bamboo! much better, a few dollars more and no egg rolls but General Tso's is excellent. check google review for pictures of egg rolls. read more
