I came about 45 minutes before they opened, explored the area and when I got to the restaurant 5 minutes before they opened, a line had already formed. Thankfully only 6 people were ahead of me :) I got seated and since I had already reviewed the menu, I went with the following: - Singaporean chili crab - mild - fried rice - crispy cereal tiger prawn SERVICE: Excellent. The staff kept checking in on me, making sure I was doing ok, replaced the bone bowl few times. I wasn't a fan of the fried rice, it was under seasoned and wasn't impressed by it. I did add some of the chili crab sauce and that made it a lot better, but by itself it's not worth it. Chili Crab - yeah, get this for sure. I got the mild, but it still had some what of kick after you eat it. The flavor profile on this dish is awesome! I think, instead of the fried rice, get a order of steam rice and mix that in with the chili crab sauce and enjoy it. Cereal Prawn - excellent, definitely recommend this dish as well. On my next visit, I'll have to try the black pepper crab and the spicy clams. They have plenty of seating, but from what I hear, it gets busy, so get here before they open. If you are in Toronto, definitely try to visit this place. They prefer cash, but if you use non-Canadian credit card, they do charge 2.4% card fee.

We recently visited Little Hot Crab for a seafood dinner and overall had a good experience. The highlight for us was the Dungeness Crab in Spicy Creamy Black Truffle Sauce. It's a new dish and easily became our favorite of the night. The sauce was rich, fragrant from the truffle, and had a nice mild kick that paired really well with the fresh crab. Their Lobster in Creamy Salted Egg Yolk Sauce is clearly a signature for a reason. The salted egg yolk sauce was thick, buttery, and very flavorful, coating the lobster nicely. We also tried the Spicy Sambal Fried Egg with Tiger Shrimp, which was saucy and the shrimp tasted fresh, but it wasn't as memorable as the crab and lobster. The Shiso Spicy Clams had good flavor but were slightly on the oily side for our taste. For dessert, we had the Earl Grey Cheesecake. It was decent but nothing particularly special. Seafood here is fresh and you can pick it on the spot, which is great. Prices are on the higher side, but understandable given the quality and the specialty sauces. The restaurant was very busy on the weekend and we waited about 30 minutes, so I recommend planning ahead. Overall a fun place for seafood lovers, especially if you enjoy rich, flavorful sauces.

8.4. Came on a Tuesday @ 6pm. No line. Cereal shrimp was so so good. Miso clams were pretty good too. Wings were meh. Crab was good but okay as far as Singapore chilli crab goes. But it's still a good meal. The ice cream was surprisingly good for free ice cream. Ambiance is just a casual dining spot. Service was good. Quick and attentive.

I'm A Little Hot Crab is located in a strip plaza next to the No Frills on Silver Star Boulevard in Scarborough just south of Steeles. The plaza houses quite a few restaurants so the parking lot is very busy during prime dining hours and it can be quite difficult to find parking. I called the restaurant and asked if they take reservations & she told me that Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays are considered holidays and that they don't accept reservations for those days. She did tell me to check Google to see the current waiting times. I had a look in advance and saw that you can join a waitlist using Google which is a huge plus. On our way there to meet friends for dinner at 5:30 p.m. on a Sunday, we put ourselves on the waitlist around 5:05 p.m. and received a text notification that our table was ready at 5:20 p.m. My husband & I was greeted almost immediately then was given our booth not long afterwards. The booth seating is great for a table of 4 as it is larger than the tables for 4 not in a booth. It is very spacious and comfortable. My friends didn't arrive until close to 5:40 p.m. and we were afraid that they wouldn't like that we took up a table without the entire party there however they did not once say anything. For 4 people, we ordered: -Singapore Chilli Crab 3+ pounds at $106 (comes with fried steam buns) -Black pepper beef with golden garlic at $23.99 -Shiso spicy clams at $22.99 -Wok fried Chinese broccoli with garlic at $15.99 Everything was AMAZING!!! The crab was cooked perfectly and tasted very fresh and the sauce was aromatic and delectable. We received 4 fried steam buns but wish we got more to dip in the sauce. I'm guessing it's one per person. The black pepper beef was tender and very juicy... cooked to a perfect medium rare and very succulent. The clams had a nice kick to it and the sauce was heavenly plus there were A LOT of clams. They don't cheap out! Lastly, I didn't take a pic of the Chinese broccoli but it was the best one I've ever tasted. You have got to order this when you go. The portion size of everything was great. They aren't stingy with this. The service was OK... they just do what is asked but aren't friendly about it. The only time it was pleasant was at the end when one of the girls asked how we enjoyed everything & packed up the remaining crab for us which I used to make a noodle dish out of it the next day for lunch by taking the instant noodles out of the spicy cheese carbonara packet and boiling it then mixing it with the crab and the sauce and it was amazing! They should have an option to order a side order for plain noodles for soaking up all the sauce for the crab as there was a lot of it. We really enjoyed our meal here. Highly recommend & will come back again!!!

If you love crab as much as I do, you have to check this place out. I'm a Little Hot Crab is now my go to spot for crab. We tried the black pepper flavored crab, which turned out to be amazing, despite it not being my first pick. The black pepper sauce was very flavorful and not too spicy, which was perfect for my party. The deep fried buns served alongside were a delicious touch, great for dipping into and soaking up the delicious sauce. We also had the stir fried clams, which are another one of my favorite dishes. They were fresh and tasty, with great flavor. I'm definitely going to come back to try the Hong Kong style and the classic Singaporean style crab next time. Overall, it's a must visit for seafood lovers, especially if you love crab! I have yet to find another restaurant dedicated to crab that tastes this good!

I'm a Little Hot Crab is fantastic! The food is amazing . I had a chance to have shiso spicy lobster, shrimp egg mix vegetables fried rice and Crispy cereal tiger prawn. Everything is so flavourful and delicious. I believe the options for crab and lobster are 2.8lbs or 3 lbs. The service is amazing, with patient staff. The restaurant has limited seating. However, they do have a waitlist you can join online. I will definately be returning.

I have been dying to go to I'm a little hot crab because it just looks so good. I ordered the black pepper, least spicy crab and cereal tiger shrimp. My meal also came with complementary buns. Black pepper crab: One of their crabs is around $100 (it's more if you want a crab bigger than 3 pounds). I chose their black pepper crab to play it safe and it did not disappoint. The sauce was peppery, savoury, and lightly spicy, which I really enjoyed. The crab was soft and not overcooked and came with the head too if you'd like eating that. I liked how the crab had a few rice cakes, and king oyster mushrooms (though I left the mushrooms behind because I don't like king oyster mushrooms). Cereal tiger shrimp: I really enjoyed the cereal tiger shrimp. The cereal was sweet + crunchy and the shrimp was tender. I was literally eating spoonfuls of their cereal. it almost reminded me of crushed egg roll. Complementary buns: I'm pretty sure this was a mantou. I'm not sure if it was fried, but it was great on its own or dipped in the crab sauce. Ice cream: The free ice cream at the end was so good. It tasted like McDonald's ice cream, but elevated with the popping rock candy. This was the best free ice cream I've received at a restaurant. Overall, this meal was great. It was enough to fill up two people. This place is a 10 out of 10 in my books and I'd love to come again sometime. The only downside is that I had to wait about an hour and 15 minutes for my table and another thirty minutes for my food (This was on a Sunday).

Probably one of the best crab I have had in Toronto! Their menu consists of different sauces for the crab including Singapore chilli, curry, black pepper, and a few others. We got the mild black pepper crab combo, the 3lb was $105 and it came with deep fried mantou. The black pepper sauce had a slight kick to it, and so peppery. The crab came with a base of rice cakes and king oyster mushrooms. The rice cakes soaked up all the sauce which was perfect. The clams were also perfectly cooked, so much flavour and a hint of wok hey. It was a messy meal but so worth it. The crab had so much meat to it. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. They made us aware the kitchen was a little slow today and offered us a complimentary jar of plum juice. There were consistently people waiting for a table but we never felt like they were rushing us out. The 3lb crab, clams and white rice was plenty for four people, we even had a bit of leftovers. We also got some really good ice cream cones to end off our meal! I will definitely be back to try their other crabs.

For $100 you get a 2 ish pound Dungeness crab with curry (a Dungeness crab is like 10$ a pound at t$t) and the meat is almost non existent. The legs are skinny, there isn't much roe, so you're just kinda slurping curry and mantou buns. And well the curry? Oh it's just your normal Japanese curry with some chilli....

Food was absolutely delicious. My group had different favourites, mine was the Singaporean Chili sauce. The online wait-list doesn't work well with large groups. It'll say 0 tables ahead, can walk in, even though there's a wait-list for smaller tables for 2 or 3. We ended up waiting about an hour. The wait-list machine at the front door also doesn't work. The restaurant is very tiny, almost no room for those waiting in line. Servers were very nice. They did the best that they could given the circumstances. We were waiting on a table of 6 who had zero situational awareness and just hung out after eating and paying the bill, so I wished the server would have said something to them but otherwise it was a great experience.

This place was recommended to us by friends so we decided to show up for dinner on a Sunday evening. We were warned there might be a wait (they don't take reservations Friday to Sunday). When you enter you add your name to the wait list on the tablet by the front door. This is not a big place so alot of people wait outside. The alternative is that you can add yourself to the wait list remotely via Google and show up closer to the time your table will be ready. It appeared that this was a popular way to join the list. Focus is on seafood and flavours are spicy! By the time we sat down the 1 vegetable dish (gai lan) they had on the menu was sold out. Shellfish focus is both crab and lobster. Menu is very a la carte so rice is sold separately by the bowl as well as other sides. What was ordered: Garlic beef cubes Black bean clams Original flavour lobster Bowl of rice Deep fried mantou (buns) Because eating shellfish can be messy each table has a box of plastic gloves and a metal container for your shells. We had our container changed at least once. They even give out aprons to help keep your clothing clean. Flavours were really great. We got the mini fried buns which were great in sopping up the sauce. Each table gets complimentary vanilla soft serve but there is a small dessert menu with a couple of items. With the ability to join the waitlist remotely as well as on the restaurant it is very hard to know where you are in the queue. The wait on this Sunday evening was 1.5 hours but you wouldn't know this as there wasn't a crowd waiting in front of the restaurant.

I enjoyed a fantastic meal here; the variety of delicious dishes was impressive. The black pepper crab was incredibly flavorful, with a perfect balance of spiciness and sweetness. The fried shrimp, coated in crispy tortilla chips, was unique and delicious. The crispy crab balls, topped with vibrant caviar, were crunchy, creamy, and a wonderful appetizer. I highly recommend this restaurant; seafood lovers shouldn't miss it!

Came here on a Thursday evening around 7PM, quite a long wait. I recommend getting on the waitlist prior to leaving home from online! Then you can wait near the restaurant until your place is closer in line :) Group of 3, we ordered: - Curry crab 2lb: meaty, and saucy. Served with fried toast buns to dip into the sauce. I enjoyed the crab legs, and claws. Everything was super yummy. Flavour profile, was a savory curry flavour, coating the crab just right. This was enough to share between 3, with other sides ordered. - Egg yolk shrimp - flavourful and yummy. It was very large shrimp pieces, but only con was it was fried with shell on (I'm personally not a fan of shrimp and eating it with shell on)-- so just a preference. But it was good. - Clams - I think this was one of the top items of the night, a sweet and spicy chili sauce. Clams were meaty, plentiful and a great compliment to the meal. - fried rice - typical vegetable fried rice to compliment all the dishes. If I were to go back, I'd probably be okay with steamed rice. Service: was attentive, and fast. Ensured to keep an open line of communication to let us know approximately how long the crab would take to be prepared. Overall 4/5 experience. Food was yummy and flavourful. Seafood lovers! Come!! I recommend.

The restaurant was surrounded in tanks full of lobster, crab, seafood and then a ton of dry aged steaks. Definitely something you don't see in California. Clean and spacious. Service was what you would expect from a Chinese seafood restaurant. Overall the meal was good, for me and a few others at the table the star of the show was actually the fish. My favorites were the sweet soy-braised tofu skin, japchae, and spicy cucumber salad. The hot barley tea also paired really well with the marinated seafood. Marinated Crab The platter comes with six half pieces of soy-marinated crab and six half pieces of spicy marinated crab. The soy-marinated crab tasted very traditional, with a strong sweet soy sauce flavor. Compared with another Michelin pop-up restaurant I tried before, this version was much richer and saltier. The blue crab meat had a soft, jelly-like texture from the curing process, which was impressive. However, the soy sauce became quite dominant after a few pieces, so I highly recommend pairing it with the beef tendon soup or barley tea to balance the flavors. The spicy crab, however, wasn't my favorite. Instead of the sweet, savory heat that I usually associate with Korean gochujang, it leaned more toward the direct heat of Korean chili flakes, similar to the spice level in tteokbokki. I felt the spiciness overwhelmed the natural sweetness of the crab rather than enhancing it. Marinated Shrimp I was worried that eight shrimp wouldn't be enough, but the plate was huge. They use giant tiger prawns, each about the size of my hand, so two or three are already quite filling. Because the prawns are so large, they are only lightly cured, so the meat stays firm and springy instead of becoming soft like the Cantonese-style marinated shrimp I'm more familiar with. The sweet soy marinade penetrates the meat very well, making every bite flavorful. However, after a few shrimp, the soy sauce becomes increasingly dominant and the flavor starts to feel one-dimensional. Personally, I prefer the layered flavors of Cantonese-style marinated seafood, where the freshness of the seafood is complemented by ginger, garlic, cooking wine, and fish sauce. Beef Tendon Soup This ended up being my favorite dish of the meal. The broth was rich with beef flavor and had a wonderful silky texture from the collagen released by the tendon. It paired perfectly with the marinated seafood. A sip of the soup cleansed the palate from the strong soy sauce, making the next bite of crab or shrimp taste fresh again. The tendon itself was tender and well-cooked. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the mustard soy dipping sauce served on the side. Overall, this meal felt more like experiencing two very different marinated seafood traditions. Korean-style marinated seafood emphasizes the deep savory flavor developed through soy sauce curing, while Cantonese-style marinated seafood highlights the natural sweetness of the seafood with layers of ginger, garlic, cooking wine, and fresh aromatics. Even though I personally still prefer the Cantonese style, I enjoyed experiencing this traditional Korean approach.
