Just your typical Chinese food. Good wok hay, portion sizes and price. Only real complaint is that the food wasn't as hot when it came out. Services were also great servers were attentive and even made small convos with my family in cantonese. Wish there was a bit more lighting as the place was a tad dark and gloomy for a Chinese restaurant.
We came here for a family dinner to celebrate dongzhi (winter solstice). This looks to be an older restaurant that has been around a while at least this is what the interior shows. Family members said the menu had some interesting items but unfortunately because we came on the actual holiday our options were limited to a specific menu and you could only order from this menu. This was the first red flag. Service could be better. We had to ask for water 3 times and on the third time we actually got attitude. Food was okay. Your typical Chinese fare served family style. Too many options out there. I would not go out of my way to return.
Lobster Harbour is a relatively new Chinese restaurant in Bridlewood Mall, taking over the reigns from a previous establishment. My friends and I stopped in recently and had quite a FEAST! Our meal included Sichuan Spicy Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, Suckling Pig, Stuffed Crab Claw, Stir Fried Rice Noodles with Beef Satay, and a variety of Dim Sum dishes. The crown jewel of this meal, however, was the Peking Duck, served in two courses. The first course was thinly sliced duck, carved tableside, and served with delicate pancakes, green onions, cucumbers, and hoisin sauce. Delicious! The second course was the rest of the duck, in a more rustic presentation. This duck is currently available for the special price of $19.99, with a minimum order of $49.90 (pre tax). That's a deal! Rather than the usual har gow and siu mai, we decided to try some dim sum dishes that were less familiar to us. That was a good move since they were all good! We definitely ordered more than we could consume but no regrets. Everything was delicious and we took home the leftovers. Lobster Harbour is located on the upper level, near the north end of the mall, serving classic Cantonese dishes and late-night eats until 2:00am. Check them out!
Late-night Chinese spot in Scarborough that's perfect when you're craving a big meal on a budget. Inside, the décor is surprisingly nice--classic Chinese touches with a fresh, recently renovated feel that makes it more inviting than many late-night places. They run great specials after 9 pm, and if your bill hits $50 you can add a Peking duck meal for just $20--hard to beat that! Portions are generous enough that I always leave with leftovers for a couple more meals without spending much. Food quality is solid for the price--nothing overly special, but it's satisfying. Service is typical for a busy Chinese restaurant: some servers are friendlier than others, but everything gets to the table. It can get unexpectedly busy on random weeknights because of the Peking duck deal! As long as they keep these late-night deals going, I'll definitely keep coming back.
We waited a bit for our table despite making a reservation in advance. We waited a bit for the soup and food after ordering. But when the food arrived, it was all good. Fairly good sized portions and the taste was just right. Would we go back again? Possibly. Not bad food and not bad service.

Came here on a weekend afternoon around 4 PM and we were seated right away -- no wait at all. The restaurant has a beautiful, high-ceiling space with greenery and elegant décor, making it a really pleasant place for a meal. What we ordered: * Black Pepper Beef Cubes - Close to $30, but the portion was generous and the beef was incredibly tender and flavorful. * Eggplant with Pork Patty - Nicely seasoned and very tasty. * Peking Duck - A great deal: if you order $50+ in dishes, you can add a whole Peking Duck for $19.99. The chef slices it right at your table -- the skin was crispy, the meat was plentiful, and overall it was fantastic value. Service: Fast and attentive -- our dishes came out quickly, and the staff were efficient. Things to note: * They add a 13% tip automatically on top of tax. * Cash only (no cards accepted). Overall: The food was excellent, portions were large, and the atmosphere is stylish yet comfortable. Prices are a bit higher, but the quality justifies it. I enjoyed my lunch here with my family. It does get quite loud but the staff is friendly and nice. Great value if you pay cash and get 20% off.
Been here twice for private room booking dinners for my friends birthdays and both times I have been so impressed! There's a private room in the back of the restaurant near the kitchen that is big enough to sit 40-50 people comfortably. Both times I've been here we had their set dinner combos that come in your traditional Chinese family style dishes like suckling pig, fish maw soup, lobster, crab, chicken, rice and noodles. All the dishes are cooked so well and super delicious. Especially the seafood items, I found that the king crab legs were cooked to perfection and had the sweet seafood flavours. Service here have been great both times and they're very good with portioning out the food per table. You're able to bring you own drinks as well, they just charge a corkage fee. Overall, I think this place is great for their private room. There's also karaoke in the room if you'd like that turned on. Great food, good service and reasonable pricing for Chinese banquet style food.
Note: This is a review of the BBQ place, not the restaurant. A hidden Chinese BBQ place within a seafood restaurant. The ducks and roast pork looked fresh when I was there. Prices were reasonable ( 1/2 duck for $22). Most importantly the flavor was legit. Well marinated and well roasted. A safe choice to get good duck.
3.5 STARS Came here for Lunar new year last week to enjoy a set menu dinner with my whole family. We were able to get a private room with karaoke for 6 tables. Room was spacious and very nicely decorated. Food was pretty good, outstanding dishes were the suckling pig, crispy and tender, the abalone with mushroom and snow pea leaves, and the empress chicken. The underwhelming dishes were the dungeoness crab with bean thread noodle, it felt like it was lacking in flavour and the lobster was alright. The lobster was pretty salty and it was a tad bit overcooked leaving it a bit chewy. Service was amazing! The ladies were on top of their game. Cleaning and serving us new dishes, and just making sure we are good with everything. Love that we can bring our own alcohol to the event as our family loves to party and have a good time. I don't know if there was a cork fee (may have to call and ask). Because we are such a big family we were only able to stay until 11pm, which is a short time for us since we don't get to gather together like this so often.
This place was suggested by a friend and usually my friends have good recommendations, but I was disappointed by this one. The food was not flavorful. We ordered the 5lb lobster special and it was .75lb over 5lbs. They told us this, but we didn't know that we would get charged addition for that. They should have give that information when they brought out the lobster that they're going to cook for us. All the flavor for the lobster was on the outside, as its fried. Disappointed that they didn't offer a sauce to dip the lobster in- as thats what lacked the flavor. The chicken feet was disappointing. No flavor and not worth it. Staff here was nice
Decided to come here to celebrate my bday and we ordered their peeking duck special and upgraded to lettuce wrap and a set meal that was about $130 bucks. I really like their fish maw soup and I had like 3 bowls. I wish they serve the Peking duck wrap in a steam rather than just a plate. The shrimp and pork had such good flavor and the shrimp was bouncy and fresh. The fish stir fry was just average nothing to spectacular. Came on a Friday night and they had about 4 tables only so it was not that packed.

Came here for an impromptu family dinner. They had a private room for us. This restaurant is right beside congee queen, entrance either through the Bridlewood mall or outside. This place is a decent size, not huge or anything but lots of big tables and small private rooms that can sit around 15-20 people. Service is prompt, no concerns except for when dessert came around. The lady who was placing each bowl from the tray to the rotating table, she put some of them down so hard it would spill on the table. It's kind of messy. Never went in the washroom so unsure of its cleanliness. Food was good, decent price and the food was yummy. The eel clay pot rice was okay, lots of ginger in it. The mushroom beef was good, tender. I would say everything is good. I would come here again if my in-laws are going. read more
I came here for a birthday party. The ambiance was nice, especially because we were seated in a more private area at the back with less noise. The lobster didn't have much flavour on its own, but it tasted good with hot sauce. We were supposed to get the fish, but the waiter substituted it with a chicken dish that you can probably find at Chinese takeout restaurants. I would have preferred that the substituted dish was something more tasty and not a simple chicken dish. The waiters sometimes took long to bring our food and we were stuck waiting for food for a while in between dishes. One waiter brought a knife in hot water to cut the ice cream cake, which was nice since my family was having trouble cutting the cake ourselves. read more
Looking for a more elevated dim sum dining experience? Look no further. They have carefully curated a wide variety of dim sum consisting of steamed, deep fried, rice noodle roll, congee, rice in clay pot, roasted, and dessert. Their regular dim sum special Monday to Sunday 20% off for S, M, L size. Most of the items are medium or large however the portions are pretty reasonable. The service was decent and the server tried their best to communicate to a CBC " Canadian Born Chinese." There's a chinese bbq takeout attached to the restaurant and there are 2 entrances one exterior and one inside Bridlewood Mall. There are some good promos and they have some unique dishes that were eye catching. I saw the promo for dim combo $79.95 which includes deep fried squab, fish noodle soup and choice of 5 dim sum items. There's also a cash special $19.99 Peking duck 2 course promo if you spend $49.90. I will definitely come back and try that for dinner. Overall a great culinary experience and my wife and I enjoyed all the dimsum served here. We will definitely be back. read more

Heard there was a peking duck special ($28.80) so you know I had to go check it out!! 中式牛柳 Beef Tenderloin Chinese Style $35 This wasn't bad but given the price point and taste.. this isn't the best version ive tried but taste was decent and meat was tender 芥蘭牛肉 Chinese Broccoli with Beef $23.98 Can't go wrong with this dish! 干炒牛河 Stir Fried Rice Noodles with Beef $22.98 Upon initial look, it looks nothing special but I honestly think this was the best beef hofun ive ever had. The noodles and meat were cooked to perfection, not too oily or dry. It held up so well towards the evening and overnight. It was still so good after being reheated 温哥华蟹 Vancouver Crab $58 + $15 HK Style Set price, it wasn't per pound so i'm unsure of the weight. Add on $15 to make it "hk style" the fried flavour was both sweet and spicy, so tasty! 片皮鸭 Peking Duck Special $28.80 With wrappers +$15 You must order one day in advance to reserve your duck, also for $28.80 it's only for the duck to be chopped up. If you wish to eat it with the wrappers, it's another $15 Overall a decent value especially for the duck as it is normally $68, not sure if that includes the wrappers. The place is very spacious and aesthetically pleasing. Service is minimal, you really have to flag the people down.. regardless your charged for it. Can't say the value is up there compared to its competitors but it's worth a try + There are many preset menu options at different price points but don't feel obligated to order these if you don't care for the things on the menu (you must pay cash for these deals) +Bring cash, you get 5% discount + Complimentary red bean dessert and cookies after +Service charge is automatic at 13% read more
The sever was so pushy with suggesting their daily specials. They suggested lobster, crab, fish, geoduck - all the expensive stuff. We ended up ordering the geoduck as recommended. Not only was it $50, there were only a few pieces and didn't even taste that good. All the other dishes were average at best. We also ordered the hot and sour soup to start and it was so sweet. They had complimentary dessert at the end of the meal. The aesthetic of this place is nice and pleasing compared to some other Chinese restaurant. However, the staff and the food doesn't match the price point, and we definitely will not be back. read more

I have been craving BBQ Duck from so many weeks. So I decided to try this restaurant. I tried the Hong Kong BBQ combo here. I selected Roasted Crispy Duck, Soya Sauce Chicken. It comes with soup, rice and sautéd bok choy. Oh boy, this Duck and Chicken are so flavourful, juicy and succulent. To be frank I didn't expect it too be this good. This combo blew my mind, I am hooked. I will be here every week now, despite I have to drive 1 hour to this place. They roast the meats every day. Everything was so fresh. Right now they are open for take out only and have special combo prices. This combo is just for $7.50 + tax. You can call them 15 minutes ahead and order in advance and just pickup once you reach there. If the price doesn't attract you here, the fabulous taste will. Give it a try!! read more
They have a $28 Peking duck special that is good value. The general experience is positive but as a few others have posted, the focus of the staff is the high value (or in layman's terms high priced items or meals). Overall, the food and experience was positive. One thing to take note of is that they include a service charge automatically onto your bill. read more
During the sensitive times of COVID-19, Fisherman Lobster King offers great deals of their classic lobster dishes and Cantonese favourites to remain relevant in the Scarbrough food scene. They offer a terrific deal for a 1.5 lb. Stir-Fried Lobster with E-Fu Noodles for only $16.99 from 4 - 8 pm, daily. Regardless of the dish being eaten at the restaurant or in take-out, the flavours and taste remain the same. The lobster is cooked perfectly and seasoned beautifully with the green onion & ginger sauce. The e-fu noodles are cooked to a perfect al dente with the perfect chew, something that is not easy to achieve. They also offer a terrific congee, rice noodle roll, and fried dough combo for only $9. There is an interesting selection of congee and rice noodle rolls to choose from if you're looking to mix things up. Overall, Fisherman Lobster King has maintained decent standards during these times which showcases their commitment in providing excellent food, no matter what the situation. read more

Came here to try their famous lobster tower - overall, the tower taste-wise met expectation... although, for the price, I would expect a better layer of fries at the bottom. The ambiance was excellent - enjoyed seeing the crabs and lobsters live in the tanks. The service was not good as they did not offer water and I felt they did not give much attention to the table. read more
The restaurant aesthetics was 10-10!!! So beautiful with the large round tables and tufted round seating. The restaurant is very open and had many private rooms for your own private functions and parties which I really liked. I love having a secluded room to myself with my friends especially when I'm dining with 4 or more people. There are plenty of seating so walk-ins may be possible without a wait but still make reservations ahead of time especially during the lunch rush or dinner rush. My friends and I dined here with the owner of the restaurant and my aunt who is the manager of this restaurant as well. We had a very large selection of dim sum dishes including dinner items like the BBQ pork and king crab. It was a wonderful feast with amazing food and amazing company. I'd definitely come back here again with my friends and family. read more

Cozy private dining room if you prefer to be a little louder; otherwise, the dining room is great for smaller groups. Oh, and the food? It's excellent all around, from start to finish. Coupled with great service, one shall return for future special occasions or when just in the mood for seafood. read more

We often pass by this area, and noticed an unfamiliar restaurant that sparked our interest, so we decided to give it a try. When we walked in around 6:30pm on a Saturday, the restaurant was maybe half full. The decor immediately caught my eye. It's much more modern than other Chinese restaurants, with a plethora of hanging greenery. The space is quite large, and we were seated at a booth near the windows. As soon as we sat down and got our tea, the waitress recommended a fishtail/tofu/bok choy dish, as well as their cooked oysters, which were $3.99 each. We agreed to order her suggestions, as well as pork chops in a "thousand island sauce". We were also provided soup (例湯) on the house. The flavours were all quite on par with other Guangdong-based restaurants except for the pork chops. The sauce was akin to a garlic aioli, which tasted good, but seemed juxtaposed when paired with the Asian-style meats. Perhaps worth a try, but not something I would order again. At the end of the meal, everyone got a bowl of green bean soup. Service was reasonable, and our family had a lovely dinner. We are definitely considering bringing larger groups here. read more

Came here on a weekday night to try the peking duck. The peking duck was presented nicely and had a good ratio of meat to wrappers. We also ordered the spicy pork chop, chow mein, and stir fried fish filet with veggies. We found the spicy pork chop was too salty. The chow mein had an interesting presentation with the noodles out upright for you to mix in the sauce on your own. The sauce was also too salty for this dish. The stir fried fish filet with veggies was decent, it came with snow peas, oyster mushroom and a few slices of carrot and celery. A tad too oily though. I found the service was slow and it could be because we were the only few seated near the outdoor entrance rather than the mall entrance where most patrons were sitting. We had to wait awhile to flag down our waitress for the bill and the dessert. They forgot about us so we reminded them again about the dessert. The dessert was green bean soup and cookies which weren't too sweet. All in all, the food wasn't something I would return back for. The service could also be improved upon. Ordered Dim sum on the weekend however our usual restaurant we order from close down due to the pandemic. Called over the phone to make some orders after finding the menu off their website. Dim sum was well packed and hot. On time to the time they suggested for pick up! Food well presented. However after eating the "har gou " and a few other dishes, I believe there is MSG in their dishes leading me to drink lots of water hours after the meal. their signature dessert - the red bean mochi dessert is so so. They had these durian pastry dessert which was good for me but not as flavourable for my family members. Every thing here cost about $70 a little steeper (14 items) then our usual place we go to. Recommend! We've been here a few times for dim sum, the restaurant is comfortable and clean. Today is mother's Day and expecting the place to be packed, so we scheduled a late lunch. No line up at 2pm ... Lol Some items can be more expensive then average, but the quantity of the food justify the higher price. Seeing that it's pretty steady with food quality during lunch, we decided to come back again for dinner. Review for our late dinner : We arrive with our table ready for us, no waiting for other to finish their meal. The food is prepared very nicely and served in a timely manner! Quality seafood is served, not one of those limp or dead lobster and crab. We suspect that the head chef must have worked in a well established restaurant in Guangdong province mainland China. Again this place charge you a bit more, but gives you quality that is deserving of the price they charge. Well worth it. read more

We often talk about going to this place and we finally decided to order take out since we cant dine-in anymore. My husband and I decided to do a combo the combo came with fried rice, snow peas, and a 6pound Lobster they were missing a few items from the combo but had let us know that they won't be giving it to us because they don't have it. We got the Hong Kong-style lobster it was delicious but for 2 it was way too much we had lobsters for days and was tired of eating it by the end of the third day. I would definitely recommend ordering less and not the combo if there are only 2 people sharing the meal. Overall the lobster was good the fried rice was a bit dry but not a bad place to check out read more

Fisherman Lobster King is located inside Bridlewood Mall which is at the north west corner of Finch and Warden. Inside the mall this restaurant faces Warden, on the east side and there's an entrance from the east side parking lot and you can also enter through the mall from the second floor through their little hallway that winds through their lobster tanks and such. It was an early Sunday morning and we were here for early bird dim sum. A group of 8 of us were able to get a big table with a rather well balanced, smooth turning large circumference lazy susan. Dim sum as far as this group is concerned it best consumed for breakfast because not only for the special pricing before 11 or noon but because hey you also get to beat the crowds on top of getting the early bird deals. Those deals are essentially large orders for the price of small for most places and while I didn't do any ordering this time around for 8 in which we ordered appropriately for a la carte we did quite well. The usuals were part of the ordered which included dumplings (duh), rice noodles, fried squid, chicken feet, pork buns, taro, and a mix of things mostly consisting of pork and shrimp. In the end the cost per adult was under 20 bucks after tax and tip. That's a good deal right? read more

Review is only for their dim sum. Big and spacious restaurant with interesting non-traditional dim sum style decor. You definitely don't feel crowded in there, it's nice and roomy. Came here on a weekend around 11:30am - they have their cheap dim sum if you order before 11am where all their small medium and large dishes are the same price as their smalls. Otherwise, I think larges were about $5. Not too bad overall - no wait on a weekend is a win. I would say a solid 3 to 3.5 stars for their steamed options (any of their dumplings, etc.) - those were done really well. And a 2 star for their deep fried options (spring rolls, pork dumplings etc.) - the dough on all their fried options seemed quite thick and heavy handed, and it felt like the oil was old, as things came out quite dark and oily. Service is typical. They did seem a bit disorganized and made a few mistakes with our orders, but fixed it once we told them about it so that was fine. A 10% tip is included already in the bill which we found nice and convenient. Decent dim sum with comfortable seating if you're in the area. Overall would recommend focusing more on their steamed items though. read more
