Hyper-consumerism, focused like a laser on those folks who must have a UM deck of playing cards, UM golf balls, UM shoes, UM shirts, UM mobile phone covers, etc. I can appreciate this sort of targeted marketing. And this sort of capitalistic effort. And, I can also appreciate this sort of genuine fanaticism, even if I don't participate in it. So, I was agog at all the choices for the UM fan in this store. The University of Michigan! Woo-hooo! And, of course, Murica! Yeah, you got that right, buddy!

Went in and the place is full of skates, snowboards, skis, etc. They are a large store and have lots of room. They also had ski goggles, a nice outerwear section, as well as a number of other things I did not look at because I was on a mission. The outerwear is organized by gender and brand so I was easily able to find something quickly. I thought the prices were comparable to larger chain stores that sell these products. But better because you are helping a local business. There were quite a few staff working who were able to help out with any questions. When I was checking out, I learned they do have a loyalty program but I opted not to join as I probably won't ever go back there. Not because it's a bad place, I just have no need to. The gentleman who cashed me out was nice and shared a lot about the store. Always nice when people can have friendly conversation and share knowledge. Everyone inside was wearing a mask! I was greeted immediately after walking in the door. I went to the counter to explained my predicament. One of the ladies immediately went with me to look at the bridles to find the appropriate color. She was very mindful of my budget and was really knowable about their stock. We found a few and went outside to get proper lighting as it was dark. I was thrilled to have options. Decided on the bridle. Went back inside and another employee helped me find a running martingale that matched. She also was really knowledgable on the martingales and let me know the on I wanted ran small so I bought the oversize which did end up fitting my horse. Wandered around and they have a great selection of clothing and even some plus size options. Honestly just an amazing selection of anything your heart desires. For all my tack needs that I cant find in my area I will be driving the 1.5 hours to go to Sporthorse.
