Julie Brook · Married on 08/18/2019 5.0…read more More than a planner - Farrah is a Lifeline! I am the MOB. On a website titled Smashing the Glass I found the most PERFECT and AMAZING Party Planner, Farrah Singh Kauffman of Simply Azure Events. To begin with, Farrah is very calm, kind-hearted, intelligent and very organized. When I first contact her in early winter, she listened to my story and then explained what was involved in a "Day-of" planner. I enjoyed speaking to many of the other planners but each one seemed to talk very fast, they were very excited - so full of enthusiasm. This exuberance was too much for my already busy mind; I was looking for someone who was very peaceful. Even Farrah's email response was calming. Farrah's contract/package was easy to understand, though she was to be a "Day-of" planner; she turned out to be so much more - she was my lifeline! I had already signed the venue Gallery 1028 and their dedicated caterer Calihan Catering, the florist Jori Foreman of Fab Flora, and Kpoene Kofi-Bruce of Mignonette Bridal, an heirloom wedding dress re-vamper (my daughter was going to wear the dress my mother wore in 1958, I wore in 1985 and later my sister would wear in 1990). Most of the vendors were in downtown Chicago. From December on, Farrah kept us on-track. She read each contract, even alerting us to any quirks. She suggested vendors we hadn't yet signed including David Florczak of Posh Production for lighting. My daughter found a photographer from Santa Fe, New Mexico, Elizabeth Wells, and my son-in-law, found the band Big Sadie, who played blue grass. My daughter selected Sweet Mandy B's for the cake and Do Rite donuts for the pre-wedding meal. Farrah explained that, in addition to overseeing the venue set-up, she would be in charge of every item needed for the wedding, this included old family photos, the place cards, decorations and other miscellaneous things. I live 5 hours from Chicago by car. During the planning, I often flew. With each visit I brought more of the pieces. At one point Farrah met us in the suburbs of Chicago to collect some items. Another time I drove in with a friend bringing boxes of items including a mirror, easel, candy, a decorative tree and baskets for the bathrooms. Farrah so graciously collected those items from my family. She went well beyond being a "Day of" planner! As the wedding got closer, Farrah had telephone conferences with the bride and groom she did a walk thru with the caterer and the couple, she contacted the wedding party to be sure everyone knew her and had her contact information and she contacted each vendor to remind and clarify them of their responsibilities. She was amazingly well organized. She even taught us a few things about weddings we didn't know. She also emailed and called each of us periodically to be sure things were going well. The night before the wedding she met us for a rehearsal in downtown Chicago. I might add that Farrah lives in the suburbs of Chicago. For many of the meetings, she drove to downtown Chicago - this is not an easy task, traffic, parking and there's always a festival or parade to clog the streets. Never once did Farrah fail to complete any promised task; she did so many helpful things I can't name them all. I might add that Farrah does everything with a beautiful smile! The day of the wedding we had torrential rain but this didn't stop Farrah and her crew (she had two assistants) from being on time. Due to the storm, my husband and I were delayed about 15 minutes. When we got to the venue for photos (we had the wedding dress and the groom's suit) the rooms were already set-up. She even had a steamer to steam the dress one more time and to steam some suit jackets that got wet in the rain! Everything I asked Farrah, was completed and completed perfectly. If I inquired if something was done, her response was always "done", "yes", "already thought of that, took care of it". She was so much more than amazing and she stayed that way through the entire wedding and as we did clean-up. Farrah was one step ahead of me. She did everything with grace, kindness, and calmness - nothing rattled her. I later found-out the doughnut delivery people couldn't get my Amex to work. Farrah took care to pay for them, she never bothered me, she just worked it out. I later paid her back - wow, she's amazing thoughtful too! I am sure if I looked back at every pre-wedding moment with Farrah and throughout the wedding, I could think of a million reasons she helped make the day so perfect for my daughter and our family. I highly recommend Farrah Singh Kauffman and Simply Azure Events.

I have…read morebeen honing my craft for more than 35 years and in that time have had my fair share of experiences with other Wedding Professionals. I pride myself on my work and the services I provide. Nothing is ever good enough for me until I "feel" it is right, correct and good enough for my own family! After all, there are no "do-overs" at a Wedding and everything has to be perfect! I tell you all of this ahead of time because I throw compliments around like boulders (as in seldom), so when I compliment someone, you can take it to the bank! I have had the pleasure of working with Farrah, of Simply Azure Events, twice now. On my first meeting with Farrah, and as we were hired separately by our mutual Bride and I had no idea who she was, other than her constant calls checking in and making sure there were no "hiccups"..., I had no real idea of who she was. You see for me and what I do, I have never had this much "checking in" as Farrah did. In all my years in the flower industry and although there have been many coordinators hired, very few, if any wedding coordinators, "ever" took the time to contact me, much less as much as she did. Well, I am very happy to say that as soon as I met Farrah, I was immediately impressed and I instantly understood her persistence. You see, Farrah contacted me so many times prior to the wedding and even called me while I was en-route, because she shares the same passion I do for our brides. I, and lest we forget who I am (mentioned above), seldom find the same quality in another professional! Farrah's organization, candor and professionalism is worthy of any event, from small and intimate to the biggest event of your life! Just meet with her once and I am sure you will see the same care and confidence, let's not forget persistence, which will all ensure and make your day as special as it should be. Simply Azure, behind the scenes, is anything but simple but Simple and Seamless is what you will find in any event Farrah and her staff provides! In my life, it is People that matter. In my life, People buy People and not things! In my life, Farrah represents your vision and your caring for your dreams of your Wedding or Event. In my opinion, you can do no better! I humbly thank you for reading! Michael John

My complaint about this place is this... I did not have my event here I ended up canceling because…read moreme and my husband had been layed off from our jobs months ago so we decided to cancel. Mind you we cancelled a year in advance you would think that's enough time for them to book a new event but no they did not refund our deposit. Our event was booked for August 9, 2025 we canceled April 2024.... The place we put a deposit for the dress, The decorator, the choreographer all gave our deposits back because we cancelled well in advance. Oh no not Sai Banquet. They only said if they book the date then they will refund our money... how convenient right. People there is other places that will take $250 to book an event this place takes $2000 non refundable. That is our fault for even doing that. Before you consider this place be super sure or book closer to your date because if something unfortunate happens they WILL NOT give your money back... Don't get me wrong they were nice but it did leave a bad taste in our mouth that we were out that much money...

When we were looking to host a party, we reached out to Amit. He called us to his office and went through every detail possible. He became our party planner more than the businessman trying to sell me stuff. We had several dietary restrictions (vegan, gluten-free, Jain, nut allergies), and Amit made sure all requirements were met. Amit worked with us on accommodating based on party size. The food was from Flambe India restaurant, which is our favorite Indian restaurant in Chicago. The hall is very nice with multi colored LED lights in the ceiling. They have a big dance floor in the middle of the room with a small stage up front and a small host room in the back. They have a big sitting area outside and a hallway for food. The place can easily hold 200 guests and is perfect for any kind of party. Overall, we had a great experience where we, as a host, just walked in and walked out without worrying.

It's through him that I heard of the Central Street Busker Festival that took place the next day and his line was loooong! Most recently, we went to his show last week that the Mt. Prospect Public Library held for spring break. That was very very well attended, with a long line of folks waiting to get in (and that's with all of us registered to attend!), but the show was a lot of fun. He did a little magic, a little comedy, and some fun balloon tricks. This guy has been doing this all his adult life--unless that's also a joke and part of his act--but regardless, he's great at his job. I'm looking forward to seeing him again and my little one having the chance to pick her balloon creation on her own.

Now after attending, I can say that this spot really exceeded expectations. One of the best things about this spot was having a large variety of different areas for guests to spread out and socialize. This led to a much more relaxed atmosphere for talking than most weddings that I've attended (I'm not huge into dancing). Even throughout the afternoon and evening, it was very nice to be able to enjoy appetizers on the beautiful rooftop deck, enjoy music and dancing on the dance floor, while still being able to carry on a conversation in the large main dining room -- or head downstairs to lounge around to avoid the crowds and noise. As I attended for a family wedding, I was also able to utilize the generously sized suites that had more than enough room for everyone to bring items they needed and have space to get ready for the event. The Haight has done the look of a rustic venue better than most places that I've seen. One thing that I really appreciated is that the look is rustic, but the facilities themselves are in great shape and modern. There were also plenty of great photo spots all around the venue that were lit nicely and contributed to guests having plenty of photo opportunities that they could create on their own. For those who were looking to rest, I did enjoy having sofas and softer cushioned chairs available to relax in. Overall, excellent venue that I would love to attend another wedding in the future. A beautiful facility with friendly service and lots of space to move around make this a great gathering spot.
