I rented a Boss 7 ton electric log splitter from Ed's Rental 10/26. My 1st call to the Algonquin store said that both of the log splitters were in repair. I then picked one up at the Crystal Lake store and found hydraulic fluid leaking in my SUV when I got home. I brought the log splitter back to the store to return or fix the problem. The service person repaired and tested the unit which seemed to be operating. When I again returned home and plugged it in, the hydraulic fluid began leaking all over the garage floor and would not operate! I'm glad I took out the insurance, because I was told that I must have done something to the log splitter! I didn't even put 1 log on it! It's time Ed's Rental spends a little of the proceeds to buy some new equipment to rent, instead of the JUNK that they are renting!!! read more

First time here, rented a GIANT gas concrete mixer; reserved it for the fourth of July. Picked it up the afternoon before, it was clean, full of gas and the oil level was correct. The counter guy showed the engine procedure and even put it on my hitch. Pleasant, low key guys there. Good price, too. I rented a travel trailer from the Algonquin location this past weekend. It was clean, and in perfect working order. The staff was courteous and excellent the entire process through. They even let me reserve the exact model I wanted, since they have two different brands/models of trailer. And when it turned out I had the wrong size hitch ball, they had one that was correct on hand, no problem. The return was incredibly smooth and fast. Second time going to Ed's Rentals. First was a couple years ago for a big tent for an outdoor party, this time it was a tool to re dig the edges around our garden beds. Both times, the rental went smoothly and returns took like a minute. Pricing was the same as what was listed on the site. I picked up the bed edger Sunday at 11am, and since they closed at 1pm, I got to use it all day for the price of a 4 hour rental. Price wise, they beat every other rental place within 10 miles by a big margin. The sales guy didn't hesitate to help me load it into my car, and today someone else came out to help me unload without even needing to ask. At this point, I can't imagine going anywhere else near here for party or tool rentals. read more

I rented a bouncy house for my sons birthday it was easy I called they set it up to be delivered the day before and picked up the day after... it was pretty clean I did clean it before I let the kids in but I couldn't complain ...but I will say that on the day of delivery I hadn't heard from anyone so I called since I was out and asked when it would be delivered and he said it already was which was fine I said on I'm not there is that ok he said yea no issue they put it in the back ... when I got home it was sitting on the front lawn next to our driveway and let me tell you ... it was not light .... very very very heavy I had to get help since I couldn't move it .... I wish they would of called and I would of been home to ask them to put it in back ... but i made it work .. they picked it up no issue .. I will be using them again for sure ... just next time I will just stay home and wait until they get there .... read more

We rented a cars themed inflatable bounce-house, a a canopy, tables and chairs. The service was terrific and every thing we rented was super clean. Eric was very patient and professional; he answered all of our questions and told us everything we needed to know to make our child's birthday event a great day. The staff loaded our van and when we returned everything, they unloaded it, while we checked out. Everything was great-no surprises.
