Thank you, (Owner and Massage Therapist) Vanessa McEwen! Parking: Street parking (watch for signs). There's parking behind the building but watch out for specific spots designated for the other stores that also share the lot. Side Note: If you're an AT&T Customer, be warned, the reception in that area isn't great (I went from 5G Full Bars to 4G No Bars, urgh!). I couldn't open my Livingsocial App to give Vanessa the voucher code. Luckily, Vanessa was gracious in allowing me to screenshot the code to her within two business days. Once I got down to the Arcadia City Limits, I screenshot the voucher code to her right away. Located in Sierra Madre, Rose City Massage Therapy is actually located inside the Roots of Wellness Center building. Per Vanessa's instructions, I went around to the right side and up the staircase (see attached picture). I was told not to enter through the front door since yoga classes were held in the front. Upon entrance, Vanessa was actually walking out a client and saying goodbye to her. Afterwards, she warmly greeted me, had me placed my flip flops to the left side of the wall by door and guided me back to my massage room. We then talked about my massage goals/expectations, what kind of pressure I preferred as well what sections of my body I didn't want touched (if any). I then filled out a quick form with my contact information, medical history / any medications I'm currently taking and what parts of my body she should focus more on (shoulders, lower back and calves). Vanessa then left the room while I got undressed and got under the covers. Vanessa started off first with a scalp massage, omg, yes!!! All that light scratching and gently hair tugging was definitely heightening my Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response (ASMR) tingles and excitement. Afterwards, I was instantly relaxed and chilled for the remainder of my massage. I requested a firm pressure and Vanessa delivered exactly! She checked in with me the first time to ensure that the pressure was okay. From there on, she worked the rest of her magic while I was knocked out, hehe! I also appreciated that Vanessa went lighter on my calves because that's where it's always the tightest. The oils that she used were light and smelled divine without feeling too heavy or slippery. Ambience and Décor: Her studio space felt really serene and the massage room felt cozy and tranquil. Light music flowed throughout the room and she had the AC on, which was perfect. There's an actual restroom inside, which was great for using either before or after the massage. Vanessa also gave me a bottle water to drink either before or after the massage. Service: Vanessa is warm, sweet and professional. Post massage, she gave me tips on gentle stretching before bed and notified me that she will be starting up yoga classes shortly (Restorative Yoga and Beginner Friendly Stretch & Strengthen Classes). Finally, before leaving, we hugged each other and off I went with the rest of my night. Overall, I'm glad to have found Vanessa on Livingsocial/Groupon. I highly recommend her.
