I was blown away by the flavors of the falafels. Also, something as simple as chicken tenders and fries were done so deliciously. The restaurant inside is modern rustic, totally up my alley. It's hidden in the corner which is why we haven't been back since (easy to forget where it is) however, we are definitely going back soon. My friend found this place as a top brunch spot in D.C. We were in D.C. for a girls weekend, and I will say, this place definitely isn't the vibe for a lit, girls weekend. The atmosphere is calm, I can't even recall if music was playing in the background. The staff was super nice and friendly. We sat at the bar and got along well with the bartender, turned out he was originally from Massachusetts like the rest of us! I started off brunch with a chocolate croissant and a classic mimosa. I was able to get the chocolate croissant warmed up, which helped make it taste scrumptious. The mimosa was STRONG. I honestly didn't even try having a second one, so if you do get the bottomless mimosa, make sure you're able to drink at least 3 of them to get your money's worth! I ended up getting the Classic muffin with Avocado puree as my main dish, all breakfast dishes comes with home fries. When the dish first came out, the home fries were cold, so I had to get them reheated. Overall the entire meal was okay, but it did come out faster than expected. Shoutout to the bartender for changing my bottomless mimosa to a regular glass of mimosa. Helped saved me a couple dollars and from getting super drunk on the way out hahaha read more

I would typically never rate a restaurant I only ate at once. However, even if you came here and only ordered the dish I did...it would be worth your time. I ordered the happy hour "Mule" and a dish JBBB calls "bar snack" nachos. Hands down the mule is the best happy hour cocktail I have ever had. They poured generously and the ginger tasted fresh-"squeezed." To explain the heights of this compliment to JBBB's nachos let me first explain that I was raised in LA. I know the perfect crunch of a perfectly friend tortilla chip. My first impression of the nachos was that they seemed too "plain." But the crunch on these chips! OMG. And the reason the chips look so plain, I realized, is because you cannot see any cheese on them. It looks as though they are cheese-less. But if you look closely, and as you can taste, the cheese is so perfectly baked into the chips it has practically BECOME the chip. JBBBs nachos are, hands-down, the best nachos I have ever had. Good vibes, perfect to grab a drink and bite after working on the Hill. Their happy hour is great, especially the sangria. The spinach and artichoke dip was also delish. Overall, I would not recommend Junction. The food wasn't great - I got the pork bowl, which was pretty boring, and my friend got the fried fish sandwich, which was on the cold side when it came out. Additionally, I called to make a reservation, and they said they don't take reservations but if I called 30 minutes before coming, they'd set up the tables for our 8 person group. I called in advance, but they did not set up the tables for us. I would have chosen a different place if I had known we'd be having to move tables around and squeeze into tight spots. read more

We have been to the Del Ray, Alexandria, VA location a gazillion times during the height of the COVID pandemic but decided to try @junctioncapitolhill because it is literally up the street from us and just recently reopened. @junctioncapitolhill has a beautiful open air patio where our woofers @diesel.treble got to hang out and dine with us!! The staff was so sweet and attentive to our fur babies and we are so appreciative of them!! I will admit, after a dismal Thai curry noodle dish that I recently had in Hershey PA, I was quite weary of trying this dish. However, I was pleasantly surprised that this dish was served hot and with a very light and flavorful curry broth!! The spicy and slightly sweet undertones of the red curry were comforting to me. Mmm. Slurpalicious. The vermicelli noodles soaked up all that delicious broth and was toothsome. A very nice interpretation of a famous Thai dish. ---- The special on Thursday is $6 for 3 sliders. You can only order one type of slider but for $6 we ordered 9 sliders. Lol. The BF had a great meal out of that. ---- We also tried their pistachio cruffin and cheesecake which were delightful. I love pistachio anything and the cruffin was filled with pistachio cream!!! Yummy. The cruffin (croissant + muffin) reminded me of a slightly firmer version of a malasada... Ooh wait, better yet!! The individuals behind the counter are friendly and and very accommodating! I needed the music turned down for my sleeping baby when it wasn't busy and they were so kind about it! I've only had their coffee and pastries, but definitely plan on going there to have lunch sometime soon. The S'mores latte is amazing - small crumbles of graham crackers topped with little marshmallows! The pastries are deliciously flaky and just the right amount of sweetness. Stumbled upon this place when heading to the bagel place that was next door. Decided to try it since I love a coffee and pastry, very cute inside, plenty of seating and a great outdoor space as well. I ordered a pumpkin spice latte and the chocolate pistachio croissant. It was probably the best croissant I've had, perfect balance of sweet and salty from the pistachio. We stopped by Junction after our workout and it was nice to be able to sit outside on the patio on a nice breezy day. It did take a very long time for someone to take our order and we had to look up the menu on our phone instead of being brought a menu. We had to ask a waitress if we could order since we had been sitting there for 15 minutes . Once we placed our order everything was great. We got the Cuban sandwich which was absolutely delicious and the french fries were amazing. We also got five dollar build your own bloody Mary's which is definitely a great deal. How can something be so wrong two times in a row? Junction Bistro is across the street from the apartment, and we have ordered the falafel salad and the fish sandwich on two occaisions, a month or two apart. We will not do so again; in fact we will never order from Junction. The first falafel order came with two falafel balls; on the second try, we explained that there was a problem with our previous order (there was hardly anything there) and was told that was unusual, and that we would get something more on the new order. We did not get that. As for the fish sandwich, in both cases the fish was overcooked, dried, crunchy, and barely edible. Stay away from the Junction. Despite the convenient location, we will not be there again. read more
