For $30, she threw some "rizz" on my boy! (At the age of 53, I have absolutely no clue if that word was just used properly or not?! Nonetheless, my kid was extremely happy about his new 'do, and I'm sure the 3rd grade "ladies" over at Whispering Oak Elementary would agree! My teenage daughter just "cringed". (I'm learning...). OK...well, now I feel would be a good time to conclude this review! Please know, and with 100% seriousness, our lady in the 2nd Booth from the front door was great! She was awesome at making my shy, always trying too hard to be cool, and quite picky, 9 year old feel great, comfortable and and with a newfound confidence. I suppose that is what a new look, expertly created, can do for you! I forgot to mention that she was quick, as well! We walked in (no appt) around 6:30pm pn a Tuesday night and there was only one other customer in the joint. During our 20 min or so, that guy finished and another guy entered and was promptly greeted and taken care of by the young man near the back. After roughly 17-20 minutes, my lil dood shook off the excess strands of cut hair and walked out of EVOLVED with a whole lot more "rizz" and you cannot place a price tag on that! My son's hair has NEVER looked better and I mean that!!! That is why we will be returning to EVOLVED every 3-4 weeks as we go forward!

This place is so messed up!!! First off check Google Places for June Bugs, you will find the review above me copied and pasted there as well. You will also find my first review there to . It is very rare I write reviews but it was such a bad experience I had to warn people. After i wrote my first review I read the other reviews. You will notice the first two reviews posted are 1 star. Then you will find the spam review you see above mine and another 5 star. They are having there peoples put up reviews to clean up the mess. They judge you when you first walk through the door. If they don't like you, they will be very unfriendly to you and give you a bad cut or litterally cut you!!!! A 10 year old child is no exception. Look for the sign that says "if your child whines price subjected to change" yea Red Flag!! too bad i didn't notice till after he was in the chair. Finished product ok fade but cut forehead. I didn't notice till it started to scab up. My son didn't whine, he's tuff, but what if he did??? Pay more for their mistakes!!! All said and done not a place for kids!!!!!! read more

I've tried many barbers and shops all over O'side/Vista. Some were good, some were not so good. What I mean by not so good... Long wait times (appointment or not), barbers choppin it up about whatever instead of choppin up your cut. Quick story... Was at one of those shops on Coast Hwy and right in the middle of my cut, dude just went outside to talk to his homie for like 15 minutes. WT? So yeah I don't go there anymore. Another "Not so good" is over pricing in some of those coast hwy shops is a bit much. Just sayin... But like I said, I've been to many shops and generally I have a primary barber and a secondary barber in the case the primary is not available. Did that for years. Then about five years ago I found this tight lil shop next to Popeyes named June Bugs and due to his excellent service I've gone there exclusively and will continue. Great atmosphere, cool staff and decor. So if you want a quality cut with excellent service for a fair price, go to June Bugs then go get some chicken next door! read more

June Bugs is probably one of the best barber shops that I have ever been too. Right when you walk through the door their customer service is so wonderful it makes you feel like ROYALTY! June bug himself makes everyone feel welcome talking to everyone just being down to earth to everyone. Its a really laid back barber shop real urban. Just sitting down waiting for a cut is good enough with all the artwork around and just the vibe of the place. The prices are real afford with all the work they do to your hair. Got tipped off about this shop from a friend who used to live near Vista. Personally recommended June Bug himself, but unfortunately he wasnt present. But don't let that bother you! Every stylist within the shop has their skill town to a T! I have personally seen them each work multiple styles, as it was a busier day and didnt make an appointment. Typically theres not much of a wait though regardless. My personal stylist at my time of visit was the artist by the name of Drew. Ofcourse the hair cut was amazing, otherwise the review would never been posted. But the customer service alone and just the positive energy I felt from this establishment made me a permanent customer. Have been here 4 times now... Once with Junebugg himself then made an appointment which confirmed and handed me off to another barber... Today I come in and no greeting and get skipped twice... In order for them to stay in business I suggest they pay more attention to new customers and actually act like they give a damn when customers walk in... If you have an appointment waiting communicate that to customers bc the perception is that you are just shooting the shit talking about football while I'm waiting to get a cut... I've been coming to June's for 4 years now. There's a reason I've been coming back, and that is the consistent customer service I get along with the friendly atmosphere. This is not your conventional "bland"barbershop. This is a place with style and culture. I see people come in and not even get a haircut. It is inviting enough where people can stop by and converse about anything. You don't see this anymore in suburban areas. Back then barbers were your counselors and advisors, now they take Visa and Mastercard and you can make appointments online. Today was my very first visit to junebugs barber shop. I was very pleased with there service and quickness to getting my hair cut. I waited maybe 5 mins if that and the guy that cut my hair took a quick glance at the picture I showed him and started trimming away. He was very detailed on my cut and I'm very much pleased with what I got. The guys are all very friendly and the price is right. I'm definately gonna make this my new spot to get my hair cut!!! Man, where to even start. This place is awesome. Always cranking good tunes and the walls are decked out in artwork and pinstriping to keep your eyes busy while you wait. Now this isn't a super cuts or some corpo bs, so if you don't want to wait MAKE AN APPOINTMENT (crazy concept). This isn't an in and out in 15min shop. The haircuts however are top notch and standardly priced. Always cut and styled to lay perfect. Lined up like a football field with a straight razor. One of them looked up and told me to "just hang out," so I waited, patiently, assuming it wouldn't be long. After more than 30 minutes of sitting there while they chatted and scrolled on their phones, no one even bothered to check in, give an update, or offer to start my haircut. At that point, I just walked out. I've honestly never been more annoyed with a business that seemed so uninterested in taking my money. It wasn't busy, there was no excuse, just a complete lack of customer service and professionalism. I try to support local barbers, but this experience made it clear that I'll be going somewhere else that actually values new customers.
