It became immediately clear after our initial consultation that Debbie and Nick's approach was significantly different than a highly "recommended" landscaper who proposed the usual yellow day lilies, Japanese holly, nandina, plunked here and there, all of which you can see in any commercial landscape. Nick started with huge amounts of soil mixed with pumice to assure good drainage which was the first major difference. Their very creative plant selection was adjusted as needed, which I found very reassuring as a gardener. We now have these beautiful moss and lichen boulders sitting among a variety of plants, tied together in a colorful apricot and purple pallet. Nick, Debbie, and Josh only work on one project at a time, so we knew once work started, it would not stop until it was finished. Neighbors are always stopping by to look. We were in desperate need of better grading, drainage, and mud management with our two dogs. The biggest issue was that our grass had stopped growing, despite our best efforts. The lack of sun/increased shade throughout the year, the rain of course, and eight paws running through the yard left our backyard a large mudpit. And because the grass stopped growing, the ground had hardened, forcing even more water to run towards our house, flooding our garage. Juan was amazing - he listened to all of our needs and recommended pavers and artificial grass along with fixing the grading and drainage. His team was incredibly punctual and professional - and thoughtful! For example, ensuring our temporary fencing was replaced each night to keep the dogs in and helping us move our trash cans on trash day. Above and beyond. I had interviewed two other companies - one would only give me a quote for design work (and in the quote literally reiterated the requirements I had given them - no indication of what the solution might be) and the other quote seemed high and was hard to envision. We really loved working with Juan - he is very professional and down-to-earth. You can tell he really cares about each project. With Creekscape, there were no design fees which I greatly appreciated. When the project was complete, I could envision the family gatherings we will have here now. And after several weeks of rain, I can happily report I haven't had to clean one muddy paw! Changes were needed and change orders were always clear and presented that same day for us to sign. Costs on bid and invoices were clear. Solid communication from all members of the team. The final punch list was dealt with quickly. The team was creative as we needed to solve some issues with drainage and access. Had them add sod at the end and that project was done quickly too. They worked in variable weather (rain and sun), were on-time both days, kept us informed throughout the project, worked around our existing outdoor furniture, ensured our existing sprinkler system stayed intact, and cleaned up after they were done.
