We chose them because their bid came in about 30% cheaper than another company. Verbally, I said to redo the whole irrigation system, which wasn't on the bid. Adding that later raised the final price by a couple thousand dollars and I can own that, should have read it more closely...a sign of things to come. There was no drawing, no pre-work visit to discuss specifics, nothing to approve. They showed up on day one and went straight to work, great, but no communication. The wall was starting to be built in the wrong spot. Each day, I had to make it my responsibility to come out and chat about the day's work, what to expect, and how long they'd plan to be there. There was no project management at all from their side. By the end of week 1, I was losing sleep over the project, sprinkler heads were uneven, there was no indication of the appearance of the final product. The owner came by that Monday to work it out with all of us. In the end, the work looked good but it was tough sledding to get to that point. After they left, I had to clean, by hand, the backside of the short wall they had installed. They left behind concrete, roots, and rock, which looked like a garbage pile. I pulled out handful after handful, sifted it, and replaced the clean rock to make it look intentional. The sprinklers they installed were aimed incorrectly and a small triangle of sod died. They are coming out later this month to correct it. What I'm seeing now is holes, low spots, ditches forming in front of the sprinkler heads. Showing the soil underneath was put down in a sub-par manner. Mowing the lawn reminds me of how much I dislike how it all turned out. The owner said it straight to me that he knew "we'd be picky" because he saw the work my wife and I had done, ourselves, at our house. He said it looked professional. Appreciate that, thanks. Their work was not. Our neighbor (who does landscape work for a living) told us that my wife and I would have done a better job. In the end, I agreed. I did not enjoy my time working with Larry. Michelle, at the office, has been great and I appreciate her help through our project.

Second, the install team was excellent. Every day, they arrived on time and hit the ground running. Having a number of contractors for projects over the past 5 years, this team has been the best. I moved out of the house during the project, but I stopped by daily and everything was always cleaned up and in order. Third, I really appreciated the effort and thoroughness on the last day of cleaning the exterior and especially the interior of the house. The team takes great pride in their work and you can tell that is 100% employee owned. If I had to say there was a down side, its you may be in for a wait when placing your order because their work is in high demand (the first year quote, I would have had to wait 4-5 months). Finally, the windows and doors are beautiful. What a difference this made in regards to temperature, sound, and clarity. Not to mention, the ease at using the doors and the contemporary narrow frame modernized our home. We could not be happier.

Update following the company's response:…read more I want to clarify one point raised in the owner's reply so readers understand the concern accurately. Yes, I mentioned that I would prefer the panels be placed on the rear of the home if possible. That was simply an aesthetic preference and not a design requirement. I relied on the company's expertise to determine whether that placement would still allow the system to reasonably meet the goals discussed during the sales process. I also want to be clear that the system functioning is not the issue. We appear to agree that the equipment is producing energy as designed. The production numbers themselves have never been what I questioned. The concern I raised relates to how the system size and expectations were presented during the sales process. When we explored going solar, the conversations centered around offsetting most or all of our electric bill, which was the primary reason we decided to move forward with a $20,000 installation. If it had been clearly communicated that the system was intended to be a smaller "starter system" that would only offset a portion of our electricity usage, we likely would have approached the decision differently or waited until we had a longer utility history available. Another important point is that no written proposal or modeling documentation outlining the assumed household usage or projected offset was ever provided prior to signing. Because those design assumptions were never shared with us in writing, it has been difficult to understand how the system size was determined relative to our expected energy needs. As a result, we are now paying a monthly solar loan while still carrying a meaningful electric bill, which is not the outcome we understood or expected when making this investment. At this point, I have shared my experience and clarified the concerns raised. I do not intend to continue a public back-and-forth discussion on this review. My purpose in posting this update is simply to provide context so other homeowners researching solar know to request clear written modeling and offset assumptions before making a significant investment.

I engaged Zamora Landscaping for several projects and am delighted with all the work they did. As an older individual, I can no longer tend to gardening like I used to. I ended up with a beautiful yard that will be easy to maintain. They revamped my garden areas, removing all the weeds, adding ground soil, laying down a weed barrier, planting many gorgeous plants (rododendrons, hydrangeas, azaleas, and more), and a bark dust covering. I also had them install a drip system so everything is watered early in the morning. They also trimmed up several trees. I have had a mouse problem in the past and my 'pest guy' recommended puttting river rock all around the foundation. They did this and it looks great. Cristy and her team went above and beyond getting everything done. They have all the right tools to get the job done and their work ethic is admirable. Zamora Landscaping did a great job for us. Alfonso and Ray repaired and added to our sprinkler system, cleared our yard of old grass and leveled it to prepare for new grass as well as add a berm. They worked hard and Christy was very helpful in suggesting ideas and plants for the berm as well as overseeing that everything was done right. There was a concrete patio below the existing deck and we wanted to match that, w/ reinforcement for a hot tub. We got a couple bids for the job. Danny was the estimator that came out for Forest and he seemed knowledgeable and was punctual and professional. It was not the cheapest bid ($6600 for a 13'X16' 4" concrete patio w/ hot tub reinforcement), but the company is much more well established than a couple others we consulted so I put more trust in their work. Rigo is the guy we needed to work with on scheduling etc. for concrete work. This was a little rocky at first, but that had a lot to do with us needing to postpone the start till our deck was done, but then also work around a vacation we'd be taking, and make sure the concrete had enough time to cure before our hot tub is dropped. Despite a slight language barrier, we worked it out and even managed to get it done ahead of when we originally scheduled it. Punctuality is impressive with these guys. For 3 days they were waiting outside our house to start at 7:30am precisely. They had to remove a portion of fence and work around some foliage for access. They ended up encountering an unexpected drainage tube of some kind while digging and made sure to create an access point for us if it's ever needed in the future. The concrete looks great and matches our old patio so well, it's hard to tell they weren't poured together. Danny and I (and later Rigo) discussed treating the old concrete to help the matching. At the end of the work they did a great job of cleaning up the area and returning everything to normal. Rigo also helped us by showing us how to remove the fence portion for when our hot tub is delivered and left the top cap off because he said we'd really struggle to get it off if they put it back. I'm happy with the work, communication, and cleanup and trust if there are any problems I will be able to get them resolved. If we have further landscape needs in the future I will def be calling Forest for a bid.
