This place is a gem. Anthony's 'Grandma' pie is so great, I would suggest moving to Huntington, if at all possible, so you can have it a few times a week. Although I live in LA (retired screenwriter), I know LA is not the top city for pizza, but I am originally from New York, and I believe New York is in that top slot, and I feel that Junior's Pizza, on New York Ave in Huntington is about as good as pizza gets-- anywhere. I used to drive 75 miles from Manhattan with my friends to Trenton, NJ to eat pizza at DeLorenzo's which was our #1 spot for years. When it closed, Junior's in Huntington became our #1 spot. This is a simple, warm place with an owner who knows how to bake a pie. He has studied his craft, and has perfected it. I don't get to NY too often, but when I do, eating Anthony's 'Grandma' pie at Junior's makes the trip worth it. No place like it. read more

Good old fashioned NY pizza. Place is nice and quiet! Young ladies working there were very nice . If you want to escape busy noisy Huntington Village pizza - come here on a Friday night. No frills and nothing fancy but the pizza was good and I am looking at trying the Shrimp Parm. Hero next time ! Also 2 slices and a soda here was about a dollar cheaper than all the places in the Village. Take that for what it is. The square slice was good and they use real SEMOLINA flour . Because of inflation some of the Village's pizza parlors are no longer using SEMOLINA flour. Also something to think about. read more

Saw the sign outside for butternut squash soup. It was FANTASTIC. Made fresh and no cream in the recipe but because he blends the ingredients it has a great consistency. Also gave me a fresh baked dinner roll to go with it. Nice gentleman who served me too. Will definitely go back! read more

I had a takeout slice from a fresh out of the oven plain cheese pie today. Best pure NY pizza slice I've eaten in over a year. I've tried several pizza slices from many different places around our beautiful Long Island and had almost given up our local pizza making abilities. I went in knowing I'm not crazy about the pizza from prior visits and a couple of neighborhood deliveries. The crust is too thick and chewy, the pies are over-baked, and overall the pizza isn't flavorful, but I was so hungry I was shaky. I got a pepperoni pinwheel and some marinara for dipping. The pinwheel was pretty good - their dough is better suited to this than to pizza - but the marinara was watery and hard to catch on the pinwheel. The place is not conducive to staying and eating. The TV was blaring Fox News, and some male patrons were talking so loudly at the back, next to the counter and TV, that I had to move to the front windows. Even then, I couldn't hear the women sitting next to me for the racket these men were making all the way across the restaurant. If management took responsibility for asking patrons to quiet down and respect others, if they played anything other than an inflammatory news station (The Food Network makes people hungry), I would have had a decent meal. As it was, I had to eat quickly and leave. I wanted to give the pizza one last try (this was a last chance for them in my book, even going in), but not with all the noise and mediocrity. I was glad to get out even if I was still hungry. In past, I have called for delivery during business hours and been refused because they had no one on staff to drive. If quality is low, staffing is erratic and the atmosphere is annoying, why go back? They're a neighborhood institution whose time has come and gone. read more

Ordered a pizza with sausage and meatballs for takeout on Monday 10/5/20....the absolute worst pizza I've ever had. Pizza was cold, dry, sausage and meatballs were just thrown on top. No question this pizza was made several hours earlier. They do make a good chopped salad with grilled chicken, never gone wrong with that. They are Juniors Pizza, that's all they're expected to make well, PIZZA, and it appears that's not happening. I was going to a meeting across the street at the American Legion Hall and needed a quick dinner. I felt like a couple of slices, so headed to Junior's. I only tried the margheritta slices, but they were very good. A small tossed salad and a drink completed a quick meal. Junior's has some of the best slices in Huntington. Give them a try! read more

My husband and I were at the movies in Huntington this evening and we knew we were going to get out of the movie at 9:30. I called around the town of Huntington to find that every restaurant was closing at 10:00 P.M. I looked on my around me app and found Junior's pizzeria and restaurant at 142 New York Avenue in Huntington. When I called a gentlemans voice answered the telephone and I asked what time will they be serving until? The gentleman asked me what time would the movie be over and what time we wanted to come in and eat. He blew us away. When we came into the restaurant he greeted us at the door and we found out that he was the owner and his name was Anthony. Anthony immediately asked how our evening was and told us the specials on the menu and proceeded to help out in the kitchen to prepare our food. Now, I ask you so far is this an amazing, awesome experience? We ordered an Italian salad and by the time my husband and I took our coats off the salad was on the table.I ordered the shrimp marinara parmesan and my husband ordered the eggplant parmesan. The food was out of this world. It came out of the kitchen hot and delicious.The presentation of the salad was as appetizing and beautiful as we have gotten in restaurants where we have paid five times the price of our bill. When the bill came I was shocked how reasonable the prices were for what we ate. We ordered the cannolis for dessert and they were most delicious. All I could say is that if you are looking for a neighborhood clean, comfortable, nicely designed and decorated neighborhoodItalian restaurant I would highly recommend juniors. We have been going to Junior's for years because it's the closest to our house and they deliver. The food was always relaibly good until our last trip. We ordered our usual large pie.
