I have been going to DiRaimos since I was a child. I grew up in Huntingdon and this was my go to place and it is still my go to place when I'm in the area. I feel like you can't compare Rosas to DiRaimos as you're getting too different experiences however, 1000% of the time I will always choose DiRaimos. The staff is great. The pizza is amazing. I've been coming here for years and years, maybe since it opened! I'm never disappointed in any of the pizza that I've had here from plain to fancy it's always right on target! The garlic knots are good and my son likes the chicken wings. This pizza place is an average pizza place compared to the completion in the area. They do have a good variety ready to go in the food window which is nice to grab something quick. All of their pizza is ok and the people who work there seem so miserable. They need a hug or something. The one huge plus is this is the biggest pizza place in Huntington Village and has a parking lot so it makes it easy for parking and big groups! But I would honestly continue down the street a few hundred feet and go to south down pizza kitchen which also has parking, better pizza, and a friendly staff. I think there is a reason that DiRaimo's isn't as crowded as Rosa's, and I don't think it is entirely about location. Great pizza places often have off days. And my Papa says this is his favorite in the area... he likes it better than Rosa's. My mother and aunt prefer Rosa's. But who's family can ever agree on anything of consequence? I liked DiRaimo's. It was certainly better than the run of the mill generic pizza place. But it didn't wow me. Our preferred local place closed so we tried this on a whim. Very impressed. Both regular and Sicilian slices were excellent. I havent genuinely enjoyed a reheated regular slice in years so I was shocked that it was so good. Very good cheese and delicious sauce that is not too sweet. It was like eating plain bread. Meanwhile the eggplant parm was just a thin layer of eggplant served on top of lot of spaghetti. Honestly the most disappointing aspect of the meal. The funny story about DiRaimo's Pizza, across the street was a hot tub rental place. Back in the day, my girl friend and I would rent a tub, get a pizza from DiRaimo's, a bottle of wine and chill. I married that girl years later.. But the pizza! Always had a soft spot for DiRaimo's Pizza. I went into get a slice with my wife recently. We both took a bite and said it was just ok. My advice, DITCH your pizza when you want EXCEPTIONAL, OUT OF THIS WORLD sauce, the PERFECT amount of cheese, and toppings that are unique and go to DiRaimo!! I had this sauce on the side one time when I ordered multiple items, I used the leftover for a few toast the next couple of days, yum.. seriously, that is nothing like anything I've tasted at other authentic Italian pizza places/restaurants... and the sausage onion pizza! I will never* enjoy any other slice ever again, seriously, they have ruined me... I am not usually this worked up over pizza, nor Italian (sorry, I'm SE Asian, I'm so used to our flavors and spices). DiRaimo's used to be an institution. Now it's just a big, tacky, overpriced pizza place where the service is horrendous and food is sub-par at best. I constantly return due to social obligations (this is simply a go-to "landmark" location for townies' post-school functions and team sports)...and I'm disappointed EVERY SINGLE TIME. My wife found a short, dark hair on her slice and brought it back to the counter. The guy (with short, dark hair) acted like she was a PIA. That's DiRaimo's customer service. Disgusting. Their cheese pizza is top tier, with a thin crust and a perfect cheese/sauce ratio. It's always cooked to perfection, I have never been let down by them. Even after a 10 year gap between visits, they haven't changed. Their specialty slices are equally great. The buffalo and barbecue chicken slices are to die for, the BBQ especially.
