I was very clear from the outset that I was trying to get reimbursed via grant from the county and would need one line in final invoice/receipt to describe the distance from my home to provide to the county. Melvin assured me that it was no problem. After the work was complete (as well as payment) I sent 4 text messages a voicemail and two emails between Nov 11 and Dec 19. I received one response to the first text that he would send it out the next day. It never came and he never responded again. The window closed for document collection and I missed the opportunity for a $1500 grant reimbursement, which in this difficult time of increasing cost of living expenses, would have been incredibly useful. So I cannot recommend CBC Tree Services if you need anything requiring follow up or communication. Really, really disappointing Melvin and CBC.

I had a mixed experience with Alejandro over the 6-8 months I worked with him. While he was…read moregenerally responsive and made lots of promises, he misrepresented himself as an arborist when I needed one for tree root pruning around a sidewalk permit with the City of Oakland. Alejandro only told the truth after we had gathered a big 10-person crew of my general contractor's team, the city inspector and whole concrete team ready to pour the sidewalk. With all these men looking to him for approval as the arborist, he buckled and admitted he wasn't a "certified arborist" but a "licensed arborist." We were all dumbfounded. This colossal waste of time cost me several thousand dollars more from a two week delay and extra man hours over Xmas, when Alejandro left a big safety hazard of sharp nails, overturned plywood, and a mess of wood chips on the sidewalk that another crew had to manage when he was a no-show on the cleaning part. At least he did actually prune the roots after he found a real "certified arborist" to replace him. He did cut back the tree branches just fine. But If you need anything more official than a tree haircut, I don't recommend you choose Alejandro.

On the day of the job the crew gutted and cleaned everything: hedges cut back and shaped, weeds pulled by hand, the agave removed, fresh mulch laid down, and they even planted the new plants we bought ourselves. They went above and beyond what was quoted and the yard honestly looks better than I thought it could. Fair price, honest estimate, no shortcuts. Than they started skipping weeks. Im guessing they figured out the house was vacant & no one would notice. But we were there regularly in the evenings & weekends cleaning & painting to get the house ready to sell. I had to call him more & more about them skipping visits. I finally had it when I went to the house & the yard & sidewalks were blanketed with leaves. I called Aldo & told him his crew no showed yet again. He lied & said yes they did that he was even with them. Not only was it obvious they hadnt, the green wasted cans were empty & we checked the security camaras. It was a flat out lie. Not once did he call & say we missed this week etc. He was expecting to get paid for work they never did. My brother & I were grieving, both working full time jobs & trying to fix up the house. The last thing we needed was to have to do the yards also. But since Aldo was flaking & dishonest we had to take care of the yards ourselves. Save your money & find a more reliable & reputable company.

I must say, I haven't personally used Juniors Tree Service, but I've had the "pleasure" of receiving several of their flyers, just like my neighbors who also have prominent "no soliciting" signs on their properties. So, let's talk about the first impression they made before I even had a chance to consider their services. It all started when I found these flyers carelessly scattered on my doorstep, as if they were confetti at a parade. Now, I'm all for a good party, but not when it involves littering and ignoring basic courtesy. Seriously, Juniors Tree Service, do you really think this is an effective way to attract customers? It's safe to say they didn't win me over with their aggressive flyer distribution tactics. But let's take a step back and consider the bigger picture here. If a company can't be bothered to respect simple requests like "no soliciting," what does that say about their professionalism and the quality of their work? It's a red flag waving in the wind, folks. If they can't respect our property, how can we trust them to handle our trees with care? read more

I had an old mimosa tree in the backyard. It was rotting from the inside and began leaning toward the house. It would have likely fallen into roof in the next day of high winds. Elliot and Juniors Tree Service had trimmed one of our larger trees a few years back, so we called them again for the tree removal. Elliot and his team did great work. They were efficient, unbelievably fast (the tree was cut, stump removed, and hauled off in about 50 minutes). They left the yard clean. As an added bonus: their stump grinder could not fit through our gate, so Elliot and his team took pickaxes to the stump and whittled it down well below ground level. Fantastic work, and I highly recommend them. read more

I have a lot of tall trees and I am so happy with the tree trimming by Junior's crew. They took care not to let trimmings fall into the pool and left both yards and all walkways clean. The tree climber has a great eye for choosing the correct cuts - he really knows what he is doing! The entire crew was respectful and professional at all times. They were also flexible and allowed me to add on a trim of my palm which I had neglected to mention during the estimate. I prefer not to pollard my Mulberry and it can lead to a mess of branches. It was beyond my husband's and my expertise so we knew we needed a pro. Alex came out and we discussed what I was hoping to accomplish. He translated it into a quote and away we went. They were able to schedule the work for the following day! Eliud responded the same day for a request to remove a tree and do additional trimming. The quote was fair and the service was scheduled in less than a week. The men worked as a team while getting the job done as requested. They asked for and received feedback along the way to make sure everything was being done correctly. When the work was done, all pieces of trunk, branches, and debris was removed and shredded. Next, clean up was done efficiently and thoroughly. Junior's Tree Service did a great job for both us and a neighbor. Eliot gave us a fair estimate and delivered as promised in every regard. Some of the large trees were difficult to move or trim without some property damage but there were no mishaps. They had to maneuver around lawn furniture, fences, and two steep upslope lots. They efficiently dealt with a Chinese Elm, Pepper trees, a Deodar Pine, and bunch of other conifers. Eliot can be trusted to do as he says. We will call on him again. read more

They did the job very a very reasonable price and the crew was on time, efficient, very professional and did a great job cleaning up. Their team took down 20 fully grown trees, many of them around a pool. They did a fantastic job! The price was very reasonable. They fixed everything that was damaged (such as fences hit by falling branches). The team did a really good job grinding the stumps and cleaning up. In addition, they thinned out all remaining trees.
