OMG I had the most fun with Liza after winning a photoshoot experience via Instagram! She made the entire process seamless with a discovery call and booking the shoot. On the day of, I was treated like a literal princess. Hair and makeup was a dream - vibes were high, my curls were painstakingly touched up with a teeny tiny curling wand, and the lovely artist that Liza works with had just gotten back from a masterclass where Rihanna's makeup artist called her complexion work FLAWLESS. What's a girl not to love? The studio space is in an industrial area in San Jose and is tiny but mighty - somehow Liza has been able to create absolute magic with so many sets all crammed together. Did I mention the racks of gorgeous lingerie, robes, and accessories? Because yeah, you get access to all of that too. Before shooting, Liza sits down and gives you a quick pep talk. She reminds you that you are beautiful just as you are and that this experience is about celebrating you. I loved that - she totally put me right at ease. We had so much fun shooting that we ended up finishing about an hour later than planned (oops). I was delighted to be the first client to try her new bathtub set up in her Morocco set, which is even more stunning in person, if you can believe it. Liza posed me expertly and even contorted herself to help demonstrate - what can't this woman do??? We finished off with a bubble machine and it was epic. She has gorgeous books to choose from along with digitals and prints. I'm sure there's something for every budget. I have my reveal tonight and just know I'm going to have my jaw dropped. It's difficult to express how much I enjoyed meeting and working with Liza. I feel like I can't give her enough credit! From the moment we met, she seemed so composed and easygoing. Initial outreach and meeting: Liza was quick to respond to my initial inquiry and we were able to meet her in person to get to know each other prior to the big day. She took the time to understand who we were as a couple, what we were looking for, and how she could capture the special day for us. She is so laid back and extremely friendly, and her process was quite simple. Up through the wedding day she'll ask you to answer some questions - some were about getting to know the couple, and others were about how you wanted to capture the day like family or friend pairings (parents with bride; groom and mother; bride, groom, flower girl; etc.). This made the wedding day a lot easier because as the bride/groom your brain is going 100mph and the last thing you want to think about is remembering who you wanted individual photos with. Wedding day: Liza captured the day with some ah-may-zing shots!! We didn't give her a lot to work with in terms of decor because we kept our wedding extremely small and low key, but she managed to make our day look as fun and beautiful as we all felt - a huge challenge that she took on so easily! Our ceremony took place outside and required a 15 min hike to "the spot" and she completely wowed us with all the candid shots. She knows it can be awkward to pose and smile like you've got a hanger stuck in your mouth so she gave some quick tips on where to stand and made you feel at ease, but also made sure the camera did most of the work. Candids, landscapes, portraits - you name it, she got it. Turnaround: We happened to be her last wedding of the season last year and with the holidays literally right around the corner, we knew she would be slammed. What we didn't know was that she would send us sneak peaks (i think she sent us 3-5?) the NIGHT of our wedding day to hold us over. We were so surprised that she was able to provide those so quickly and even more grateful we could share those with some family and friends over the holidays while we waited for the rest of the photos. That was one of the best wedding-related decisions I made. Both at our engagement shoot and on our wedding day, Liza was organized, competent, and flexible. She was on time, and fully prepared to do her job. She has a detailed and extremely useful questionnaire. She dealt with the weird lighting issues in my venue, and my case of wedding-related decision fatigue. She didn't bat an eye when I changed my mind at the last second and decided I did want getting ready photos. There were no surprises from her. For this reason, she's worth her weight in gold. The pictures came about six weeks after the wedding and I couldn't be more pleased with them. Liza is so sweet, personable and professional. When we first met her at our Engagement shoot she made us feel very comfortable in front of the camera. Liza was absolutely perfect. She communicated wonderfully before the wedding, including listening to our preferences but still giving great advice, and made herself available to answer any and all of our questions. As she had not shot a wedding at our location (Wildwood Acres), Liza even made the effort to drive to our location and meet us at the rehearsal, to get a first look before the day of the wedding. We just got our complete set of wedding photos and they are beautiful. Liza gets five stars just for that, but then again I would probably give a lot of photographers five stars for their work. What I learned about wedding planning is this: YOU NEED RELIABLE VENDORS. People that do not put in hidden costs. People that respond to emails very fast. People that are early to meetings. People that make your wedding planning and wedding day as stress free as possible. That is what you get with Liza. I had paid for one photographer instead of two and she quoted me a very reasonable price. My fiancee and I loved our experience with Liza for our engagement shoot at Pinnacles National Park! My profile photo is from our shoot! I reached out to Liza because I saw that she had shot at Pinnacles before. I had a few outfit changes and she definitely was down to shoot us in different parts of a hike! Wow ! Wow ! Wow !!....and I guess I can keep writing this word over and over....and still wouldn't be close in explaining as to how I feel seeing the wedding photographs which Liza has clicked for us. Everytime I see the photographs of my wedding - I realize what a stupendous job she has done with the snaps. I got my wedding snaps back from Liza after 3 weeks and looking them I almost got drifted backin time, how lively and how real they were .... I could even feel the presence of fog on Embarcadero or smell the food all over again. The photos just took me back in time and I relished all those moments again. Cant tell you enough how marvelous, incredible and splendid are the snaps, I think I can only feel it but may be cant express :-) so I would leave at that. For sure the photographs which Liza has clicked would be our memory for the lifetime and I have no doubt that every single time (in coming N years) whenever I would look at the snaps I would tell myself how lucky I was to have Liza as my photographer. Liza did an amazing job with a photo shoot I booked with her! She brought in a hair and makeup person who was fabulous (I am worthless when it comes to that stuff) and the pictures came out beautifully! She even included my old dog in a few of the portraits.
