We were looking for a great photographer who wouldn't break our wedding budget. Since we were living apart at the time, my wife found them online and decided to give vid studio a shot. After the first meeting, we were hooked! Kenny and Ammy were very willing to meet with us for as long and often as needed to make us feel comfortable with what we wanted and what we were getting. Before our each shoot, they were willing to take the time to make sure we would be as well prepared and well dressed as possible. They are also very enthusiastic about their work, and their cheerfulness is infectious. The staff at VID studio are all very professional. They have all different kinds of cameras, stands, and photo/video accessory for every kind of shot. A city-wide video shoot with them will make you feel like you're filming a professional commercial or movie. Kenny, Ammy, and the rest of the crew are all perfectionists. They will do everything in their power to make every picture and every scene perfect, whether it be taking extra shots just in case the next one comes out even better, working extremely long days, or even extra days to get everything right. My wife is incredibly picky about photos and video, and they almost always managed to please her. If she wasn't 100% satisfied, they would do whatever it took to get her there. Of course that means that we also spent a LOT of time in front of the camera, but it was well worth it. Ammy does a wonderful job with makeup and hair. My wife can be extremely picky about this, but she always comes back from the mirror glowing after being prepped by Ammy. Kenny is a wonderful photographer who cares less about poses and more about what his clients are doing, what's happening around them, and how they interact with their surroundings. He's really great at using the settings of his shots to their full potential. Like Kenny, video director Shun is very flexible. While they always come up with a general script for shots, he's always looking to see how he can use what he has to make it the best it can be. The same can be said for the rest of the crew as well. It was an instant hook for my wife and I when we were searching for photography studio for our pre-wed and wedding day shooting in 2015 - The amazing and moving shots from Ken on social media gave us a very clear and dreamy vision of our wedding that we were anxiously preparing. We were really lucky to be able to book the studio and everything since the contract was signed was butter smooth, professional, 'dreamy' as my wife would call it - It was our BEST call during the wedding process and how fortunate we were to have them capture the most precious moments in our lives in a such pleasant, delicate way. During the preparation of our pre-wedding shooting, we were offered plenty options to shoot across the bay area. There was no rush in decision making and Ammy was so careful to discuss with us the theme of our pre-wed to match our ceremony as well as the stories of us getting together. We were discussing these details on daily basis ahead of the shooting and when we decided the two day itinerary, she went further to help us pick the outfit - I still remember the day when were ready for shooting, my hair was not really properly done and her team helped me redo my hair which is obviously not their duty. Ken drove us that day to highway 1 on day one and it was a whole day full of professional shooting and recording of great time - I almost felt like we are on a road trip full of romance and Ken was there to capture who we really are, with sincere emotions in the pictures so story-telling and loving. And there was also the short movie shooting that they centered around our stories and the film was so precisely executed with all the emotions and presentations we intended. Everyone on the wedding day was touched by the film and I couldn't thank them enough. After the pre-wed shooting, we were very close to the studio team and grew even more confident of the wedding day. My wife was getting more nervous of all the wedding planing and if there was one thing reassuring to her, it was the studio would make the wedding look absolutely fabulous - And she was RIGHT. On the wedding day, there were a crew of more than five people from the studio, it was more than two hour drive from their office to the venue and they were there by 9am. The sun came out and our big day shooting went on like a dream, we went to the beach to capture so many great pictures as the time allows. The film team was also there and even brought a drone to get some cinematic touch to the professionalism we enjoyed from the start. Right before the ceremony started, I didn't even notice but they were at all angles capturing everything. I was amazed how many awesome shots we got from the ceremony and every picture was so natural and full of the late August sunshine. In the catering session, our guests admired greatly on the pre-wed photos we presented in the hall and of course the pre-wed film that were magical. After our wedding, the studio worked with us on picking the photos from the wedding for re-touching - The techniques of the crew were top notch and fast in response to our needs. We received all the digital copy of the pictures on time and we shared them with all of our family and friends with waves of complements and blessings flowing in. Till this day after a year and half, we still get friends asking where we get our shoots done - This is why I had to write this review here and let them know where to look for them. Ammy and Kenny were awesome! We were passing through SF and were on a tight schedule with only 2 days for our wedding and photo shoot. They both made time on short notice and really came through for us. Ammy is an awesome makeup artist. Since we were on a tight schedule and really were just passing through town, my wife didn't bring her makeup kit. But that was okay because Ammy just so happens to be a master beautician. Even with her busy schedule, she helped us out with flower arrangements (for the photo shoot) and even came early to do make up for my wife. Kenny is a uniquely amazing photographer, definitely different from other photographers I've seen. Most wedding photographers make you do poses or make you pretend like your doing something and take a quick snap. But Kenny does a different take (no pun intended) on capturing stills. He asked us to actually move around, from jumping to running to spinning to doing nothing but be ourselves (while pretending that he and Ammy weren't there) and he would just be snapping away the entire time. We had plenty of fun. It's like taking a video of the wedding rehearsal, the entire wedding ceremony, post-ceremony dinner and then going back through every single second of the video and picking out the most precious moments. We had a very good communication about preparation, what do we like, what to bring, what to do and what not to do before the shooting day. Amy is a very professional stylist! You can communicate with her the style you like and she will make it work for you. Ken is a fantastic photographer! He can always find the right angle and won't stop until he's satisfied with a scene. William also came as assistant and did an amazing job helping us hold my coat, help with light and also do a second shooting angle. I worked with Vid studio on my wedding brand production photo and video in early June this year, it's a great pleasure to work with vid's team. They always plan ahead and discuss ideas with client, Ken asked to see my wedding gowns beforehand to figure out the style I want, and we picked the model together, they helped me finalized every detail, for instance, styles of furniture, chairs, theme color of flowers, venue, emotions that model should express, etc. On the shooting day, everything went smoothly because of great preparation beforehand, makeup artist Amy did a fantastic job on hair and makeup too, Ken set the atmosphere and shaped the scenes pleasing. When I saw the retouched production photos, I was amazed by VID's quality and work!! I got the retouched photo in one month, which is much faster than other studios. We hired Vid Studio for pre wedding shoot and wedding date photo shoot and video recording. Ken did a good job on pre-wedding shoot. They took every second of the contract time before sending us photo. Imagine you are in the middle of planning everything else and waiting for these photos for 2 months to make photo album. Anyhow, it was our "inexperience" of planning a wedding, well, who isn't. Okay,the story went down south from there. On the actual wedding day, Ken looked really exhausted. I later learned he has been working back to back without a break for weeks. I understand they need to make money, but it also explains why we had very difficult time to pick 120 pictures that we want to get edited out of 3000+ pictures we received. The frustrating part is we have to remind them the due date. Their employee quoted us incorrect contract information, blah blah blah. Dude! Read the contract you wrote! After repeat efforts from us, they clinched the deadline by minutes. Well, the quality, as you can imagine, was garbage! My wife has to spent hours (we seriously lost count) to review and write them all the issues. These were not artistic interpretation kind of issue. It is obvious issue a kid could point out. The most shocking to me is that Ken and Amy didn't even QC the video sent to us. Seriously, that shows me how inexperienced (careless??) they are with customer. I vouch he can do good photo shoot, but we pay the big dollar not just for picture, rather it is a package. At least their attitude was right. That helped a lot. End of the story, we waited 5 months after our wedding to get everything from them. Keep in mind, the contract spelled with no more than 10 weeks. read more

I went Vid studio for makeup service on my city hall ceremony day. The artist named Fanfan did an excellent job. She did makeup for me, and hairstyle for both me and my husband. They provided trial service but I didn't do it due to time limits. Before we met, we had several discussion through messages. I sent her our pictures and let her know what style we like most. Also, I told her what shortness I wanted to cover. The outcome was very good. We looked so great at the ceremony and several friends attended asked me who did the great job for me after ceremony. And I've received my ceremony pictures today and my makeup also looks good on pictures. (I asked for natural style so I was worried if it would look too light on pictures.)
