Neat little place we have been meaning to visit for a while. What stood our most was wathcing the cook prepare everything. You could tell he took so much care to get everything right....meticulously grilling some onions and getting sauces on just right. I knew it was going to be good. Excellent steamed/grilled dogs with a nice snap. Good portion sizes for everything. (we shared fries among two with plenty to spare). ~$7 for a hotdog with alot of topings isn't too bad at all these days. Pretty sure the fries/wagonwheels are cut fresh and they come out HOT! and crispy with soft insides. The only minor downsides I found were the buffalo wagonwheels while perfectly cooked seemed to lack the seasoning and the soft drinks are sold by the can which I don't prefer. I bought my hubby a pack of playing cards from foodie cards.com that has discounts for various restaurants around Columbus. It's a fantastic idea and is great when you are struggling with deciding on where to go. Well, we used our first card today, and the manager kept it even after my husband tried explaining what it was. I decided I would try to politely talk to her. I patiently waited while she made a few waiting orders. She then when she was free, I explained again that we wanted to actually use the playing cards. She said she would have to ask her father, because he told her to take them. Mind you she was at least in her 40s if not older, so it wasn't a kid I was speaking with. She apparently took the card out of the register and put it on the counter for when she called him. I went up after we finished our lunch and the card was gone. She said someone must have taken it. Just a frustrating situation and now we are left with an incomplete deck of cards. As for the food, it was nothing special. The hot dogs had a decent snap to them, but the onions were overdone/burned and flavorless, and the cheese on top of the chili onion cheese fries was like a piece of cardboard with melted cheese laid on top of the fries. The buffalo hubcaps with a side of ranch did not taste like buffalo and did not come with ranch. The smashburger was average at best. We will not be returning or recommending this place in the future. read more

So, second time here and it gets better. First time around had a Chicago style this time I went for the bratwurst and was glad I did. Got it with grilled cheesy onions and peppers with spicy brown mustard to die for. My wife got a hotdog with cheese, bacon, and jalapeños, she thinks of herself as a hotdog snob and loved it. My daughter went for the regular with mustard and ketchup (I know, I know). As for the fries the regular were fine, but you need the Junkyard fries in your life, Cheesy onions, coleslaw, jalapeños, garlic aoli, bacon, and the coney sauce was perfect. I was not very impressed. I think they dogs would taste better if the buns were steamed or toasted. They take the bun straight out the bag. The wiener was not up to temp so when you put cold topping on it, it's not very appealing. I'm from WV and the Hillbilly should have coney sauce, coleslaw, mustard and onion. The menu is simple, with just a few options although you can customize. i got the Chicago and a junkyard dog,as well as junkyard fries. Yes. One shouldn't eat hotdogs everyday... But if you're craving one, you can't go wrong in stopping by Junk Yard Dogs. Nice staff, good variety in menu. And the snap, boy the snap. 'Makes you look forward to trying the sausage or brat next time. The barrel tables are just a taaaad bit too short, or the stools too high, for food you need to stay close to while eating. Had some coupons so we decided to give it a try, hotdogs go on the grill as soon as you order, but they never do really get up to temp on the inside. The dog had good flavor but just a basic ordinary bun seven dollars for a hotdog with just cheese and onions on it is kinda high in my opinion. A new favorite of a local place that knows how to do things right! I am quite the connoisseur of chili dogs and this is one of the beat places I have ever had! They start off with all beef hotdogs and grill them to perfection on their grill which gives you that nice crunch when you bite into its awesome deliciousness. I had two dogs today. The first was the Hillbilly Dog topped with coleslaw and coney sauce. I added jalapeños for my personal taste. Next was the Junkyard Dog topped with coney sauce, cheesy onions (cooked on the grill), bacon, jalapeños, cole slaw, garlic aioli, and spicy brown mustard. If you are not a fan of all-beef hotdogs, they have options of Stadium Dogs (all pork), a vegan dog, and even an wagyu beef hotdogs. (Some may be a small extra fee) I did not order their famous hubcaps but will next time! One thing that I saw on the menu was Burnt Ends French Fries. French fries topped with burnt ends, bbq sauce, Cheddar cheese and scallions. Can you say heaven on fries? Still hungry? Try one of their milkshakes or floats. This place proves that old saying that the drive is worth the difference! So this is our first time here and we made the trip just to try it out. We walked in and there were 8 customers (one family of 5) no one had food. One worker doing all duties at 1145am on a Saturday. She was nice and doing the best she could. The place is clean and ambience fine. Food-Chicago dog- toppings fine on flavor but the dog broke through an obviously stale bun NOT GOOD Detroiter-Best of the three but the hot dog was just warm and not a fan of slightly sweet chili sauce Junkyard Dog--The worst of the three. Toppings missing, to much coleslaw and bacon was not cooked. Borderline gross. Fries--Hot and fresh but no flavor and the garlic aioli was missing. All for $7 per dog and $6 fries. Along with no water available except for purchase. Terrible business plan Sorry Junkyard Dogs it was bad and will not be recommend or repeated. Newly opened and amazing! One of my absolute best friends works here (and no, I'm not being biased) but this place is the bomb! I come here with my dad to visit my friend while he's working, but still the food is also amazing, if you're ever in grab a cookies and creme milkshake, as those are amazing! The hotdogs here are great too, they don't taste like the cheap brands you'd get at the grocery store, they're really good. This place got me to actually enjoy eating a hot dog, which normally I don't like hotdogs, but this place changed my mind.
