Tried them at a fly-in in Springfield. Big menu, loads I wanted to try. I got the rauchwurst sandwich, a finely-ground sausage, kind of like a big, really good hotdog. On a pretzel bun, with sauerkraut sauce. Very good. Plenty big, though if I were more hungry I'd get a side too (potato pancakes, more likely.) Kid K got a cream puff. They had vanilla or chocolate. Not huge like the ones at Schmidt's, but a decent size, and she only at half so I got some. Perfect dough, creamy good filling. Lots more on the menu I want to try. Will keep an eye out for them. I tried A cut above Schnitzel at a winery last weekend on Halloween and I truly am glad I got to! I got the pork schnitzel sandwich (their "speciality") and let me tell you. The portion of this thing is no joke. The bun can barely support the pork breast. It's perfectly breaded with fresh veggies and their special sauce, which resembles a honey mustard type sauce. My mom got the bratwurst and we shared an app of the potato pancakes, with a side of both sour cream and applesauce. Some of the best potato pancakes I've ever had. We got a fried bologna sandwich to go with the toppings on the side. Super thick cut of bologna. Overall I was really impressed both with the food and the service of the owners. Nice change of pace for one of our local food truck locations! On-line ordering /paying was very easy & food was ready & packed up very quickly by the staff. They had some standing tables set up Aron d the lot as well as some traditional German music playing. Nice people too! Food was great, will look for them in the future to try some other items! read more

I had a chance to try A Cut Above at the Whitehall Food Truck Festival a couple of weekends ago. They were one of the more put together stations. They had bright signage on the truck and even a sign on the ground in front of it. Their advertising succeeded as I was drawn in by the tasty looking pictures of schnitzel and sausage. The gentleman working the window was very upbeat and helpful in explaining the menu items. Looking for something really unique I decided to try their curry sausage. It came out on a standard hot dog bun and was covered in a thick dark red sauce. The wurst was curved underneath and just met the ends of the bun. The sauce tasted like a barbecue sauce cut with curry powder. It had a small amount of zing to it. It wasn't bad, but it's not something I'm dying to come back for. The wurst was a little dry which is probably from the scoring on the top of the sausage. I regretted not getting the schnitzel sandwich that I was debating on when I ordered. I'm still giving an "A-OK" rating because I suspect I just personally didn't care for the item I ordered rather than a reflection of all of the offerings. Also, the people running the truck were too nice to deserve anything lower than a 3 star. read more

I only came across this by chance and I hope I find them again (I am now following them on facebook because I liked their food so much). I haven't tried everything on their menu, but I will tell you why I was so excited about this place. They have currywurst which is not something most of these German places in Columbus have for some reason. If you have never had currywurst, you really need to try theirs. I was so happy to find this. I got to try A Cut Above yesterday and had the Schnitzel Sandwich. The special sauce, which tasted like some sort of honey mustard, was very good (wish there was more of it). The sandwich itself was very crispy, and the bun was great, but it was very salty, so be warned. I doubt you'd find this type of sandwich in a food truck anywhere else in Columbus. They had a goulash special that they were giving out samples of, and it was pretty tasty, and everyone working there was very nice. This food truck is absolutely delicious, I have tried half of their sandwiches (so far) and have not received a bad one yet. The owners are very nice, and the food quality is magnificent. My wife and I tried the truck at the Westerville Food truck Fest this past Sunday. I had the fried Bologna and it was just ok (all beef bologna would be better). But, the Schnitzel was fantastic! The best I have ever had.I loved the tables they set up and the service was spot on. However, I want this truck to be successful. Acutabove truck "skin" does not mention German food. It shows a cafe similar to Paris or Venice. I never knew it was German until I look at the menu. I would suggest re-doing the Marketing on the truck. read more

This place reaffirms my love for food trucks. As someone who doesn't eat much meat besides bacon and beef (I know...) this place cooks up an awesome chicken schnitzel! It was served with some schnitzel sauce, shredded ice burg and fries (in which I doused in malt vinegar, of course).
