Coney sauce for the Village CONEY IN German Village. Special #1
    Susan H.

Service was great --I wouldn't mind the prices if quality of food matched .2 tablespoons ( maybe) of greasy coney sauce-- you will only see it -- if you ask for a deconstructed coney. I'm a Cincinnati girl and take coneys SERIOUS- The greasy sauce -- salty coleslaw and those coated broken French makes this a future no! What ever happened to the complementary oatmeal pie.. I suppose inflation. Ham & bean soup-- too watery .. I wanted to treat my team to lunch soon -- I'm sad I've gone to VILLAGE CONEY FOR. The last time .

#1 with cheese (1 dog not pictured!) I MISS THE SKINNY FRIES, but as you can see, I did ok with these!

Bring back the skinny fries!! I ordered the #1 with cheese: two chili cheese coneys with fries and a soda...and of course they add the little Debbie oatmeal pie, cost $10 plus $1tip. The guy taking orders acts like he hates his life and his job, but I think that's his very soon of efficiency and I always give him a buck anyway. Everything was as I remember and enjoyable (I stop by every few months) except I really miss the skinny fries. I did have a bit of a weird texture in my mouth and checked that out... It looks like they burned the hot dog a little bit so the skin was tough.

First time here and thought we would try it because they were in the entertainment book this year. However, was told that they told entertainment book staff they didn't want to be in the book this year so employee would not honor the Bogo coupon. We stayed and ordered a cheeseburger for hubby and the New Yorker hot dog for me. I really enjoyed the dog with cooked sauerkraut and onions on top. I highly recommend this place if looking for a decent dog or hamburger!

3 Village Coneys w cheese, tater spud tots and 2 free oatmeal pies all for $9.70

It's was ok. I've had better. This is a house located on Whittier St. it's a very busy road but parking is free. The place is rather small as it only seats 17 people. There was 1 tv on the wall and music that was playing rather loudly. I would have preferred that the OSU game that was playing would have had priority over the radio. The staff was friendly and welcoming, they suggested since this was our first visit to get coneys. Order: 3 x Village Coneys w cheese $2.40 ea. 1 x Tater spud tots $2.50 Total $9.70 The meal was delivered with 2 Little Debbie oatmeal cream pies. I thought this was a nice touch, however there were 3 of us. The tater tots were crispy and piping hot. They tasted good. The coney dogs were ok. The sauce seemed to be a little dry and lacking that sauciness that I'm used to. There was also some spicy seasoning that was a little much. I like spicy, but not in my Coney. The price was a little high for the quality and amount of toppings received. Overall the meal was ok, but I don't see myself driving out of my way to get more. Not like I would for Tony's Coneys :) The Bathroom That door is deceivingly short. I had to duck down a little to get in the door. It's also just a little bigger than an airplane restroom. The sink is just about the biggest utility sink I have ever seen. Be sure to visit the bathroom even if it's just to look in there :) ** high chairs = no ** kids menu = no ** changing table in the bathroom 1 unisex bathroom = no

Three coneys, tater tots, and cookies

Not the best coney dog I've had, but better than some. We ordered three coney dogs and tater tots to split. The tray of food came out with two Little Debbie's oatmeal cream pies. The coney sauce was a little tangier than I prefer, but it wasn't bad. The tater tots were crispy on the outside and hot and steamy on the inside. The dining room is tiny and the grill is right there. There is a restroom, with a short door. We told the guys we had never been before and they recommended trying the coneys. If that's their best offering, I probably won't be back, because I know where to get better.

Decided to try this hidden hot dog "gem" in Columbus. 2 coneys, fries, and a drink for $7. Great value! Coney sauce is homemade, and good, but nothing to write home about. Buns were fresh, but I prefer a steamed bun and these were not. Fries are a frozen shoestring cut fry, and are a great accompanying side. Overall a good place for a quick bite, but don't know that I'd go out of my way for it. Very small dining area inside, but they do have patio seating outside.

Burger was awful frozen patty. Being rude is their speciality. Went twice. Same nasty attitude. Won't ever go back.

He's the one who suggested Wario's Way for the steak sandwich last time. The restaurant was pretty full and the patio had many happy patrons! This sandwich is a foot long and nearly 4" wide! The first thing I smell when I open up the halves is the pickle of homemade giardinera, solid amount of lunch meat and nice crisp from the shreduce (iceberg lettuce) and the relish. Be ready to unhinge your jaw to eat this sandwich! This is not something you can eat and drive at the same time, it's messy, but that's what makes it delicious. A staff member helped me right away. I ordered the steak sandwich wario's way and the house spuds. It's a pretty hefty sandwich! My only issue was the cheese whiz. This is the typical way to eat Philly cheesesteaks, but I didn't love the flavor. Not a bad thing! Really just a preference thing! I've had cheesesteaks with provolone which is more of the flavor profile I'm looking for. The house spuds were phenomenal! Well seasoned, crunchy and it came with a nice savory mustard-like sauce. Seems like some of the other sandwiches are popular too. I would be interested in trying those out next time. They were featured in diners, drive ins, and dives. So I'm happy we have an excellent sandwich shop like this in town!

It's been awhile since hearing their name, so I was happy to get a chance to try out their Philly-style cheesesteaks when I was at HHBG for an OSU game. I ordered The New Guy, subbed chicken for the steak. The cheese whiz mixed with the grilled chicken chunks and green peppers and onions was primo; creamy and dreamy. I didn't even bother with their special sauce; it was innecessary, imo; the sweetness wasn't a good ting-to-yang thang. And the bread is so so sooo good: Made fresh in-house daily, soft and pliable, a great carrier mechanism. My only suggestion would be to make the sandwiches more compact. Mine basically all fell apart as soon as I attempted to unwrap some of the white sandwich paper. Lost a little bit of my hyped anticipation. All in all, I'd definitely get a cheesesteak from Philgeddaboutit again next time I'm at Hey Hey.

It's the kind of place where you go when you are completely obliterated and need that relatively quick hunger fix. And hey, why not pick up another twelve pack while you're there? Sure there's better food out there, but who wants to make any kind of decisions after a long night of drinking? These guys have the perfect solution. Let's cram it all on one big ol' sandwich (or wrap, but don't think that's even putting a dent in the calories) and serve it to the drunk masses. Personally, I think PJ's is the bomb. It's definitely a guilty pleasure that should be enjoyed in extreme moderation. Their fat sandwiches are packed full of goodies and are fairly cheap. My personal favorite? The fat bitch. It's packed with buffalo chicken strips, mac'n'cheese bites, beer fries, cheese sticks, and smothered with ranch dressing. If eaten drunk, you won't even notice the toll taken on your body. It'll just be a part of the hangover. But be warned. If eaten sober, be prepared for a nuclear explosion in your stomach followed by a morning of "nuclear fallout". I would suggest trying this beautiful Frankenstein of a sandwich. But please, do so at the end of a long night at Out 'R Inn.

When I arrived around 10pm on a Sunday night, the place looked like it was in transition to closing (chairs flipped over on tables, no patrons, staff members watching TV in empty booths). However, I was welcomed in to order by the friendly woman at the counter. She answered a few of my questions and when I asked what her favorite was, she immediately said, "Buckeye Garlic Pizza." I took her advice and was also able to add up to three toppings at no additional charge (mushroom, olive and sausage). I took a seat and waited about 10 minutes for my personal 10" pie, which came out hot and with a friendly, "Thank You, Sweetie." I ran the pie back to my hotel and opened up the box. The pie looked amazing. Perfectly crispy outer crust, six cheeses and garlic, along with my toppings. The pie was pretty damn good, with steam coming off the top. The six-cheese blend was interesting, with the dominant flavors being American and Cheddar. The sausage, olives and mushrooms were all fresh and plentiful. Definitely a good option to satisfy my hunger for a late night pizza in Downtown Columbus.
