I shook off my nerves since you're seeing straight down when you're going up what felt like 50 flights of steep stairs and I ended up having the best time. 2 hours flew by literally. Unfortunately a lot of things were shut down but all in all we all had a great time. The play park is huge and netscape was interesting and challenging but my old butt was not going in there. Left that to our young ones. They have go karts, basketball, dodgeball, a swing and a free other activities. I was truly shocked at how much there was to do in the mall overall. You could spend the entire day there. They also have plenty of comfy seats to just kick back and they sell snacks but it's a mall so if you're hungry there's plenty of food outside of the park. I'm still trying to figure out the recycling gun station. Yuck.

Noah at the front desk was doing his absolute best (props to him!), but he was alone and clearly overwhelmed. Management -- give this guy some help! Heads up: the Groupon doesn't cover taxes or socks, so be ready to pay about $15 extra per person at the door. That wasn't clearly mentioned anywhere, which felt a bit sneaky. Once inside, the experience is much better. The slides are amazing -- well-designed, clean, and surprisingly varied. The bounce zones are split into dodgeball and basketball, which is fun, though some supervision or age separation would make it safer. There's a great toddler area (under 3.5 ft), but not much for kids just above that height -- a bit of a gap in options. The swing jump was nostalgic and fun, but poorly managed. Only one hook for two lines made the wait unnecessarily long, and there wasn't much staff presence to keep things moving. Concessions were fine -- typical venue pricing, nothing outrageous. Overall: Worth it if you're using a Groupon or season pass, but arrive early, expect delays, and bring extra cash. Once you're in, the kids will have a blast.

Also a few vendors like Pet Suites, Rover Oaks, and a few vets in the area. My dog had a great time. However, I do wish they would put some temporary doggy bag stations since not everyone picked up after their dogs unfortunately. Tickets were $5 per dog and comes with a human ticket. Their check in process was quick, a waiver is required to be signed prior to entry. Parking was free and plenty, there were a fee concessions stands open offering funnel cakes, ice cream, fries and tots. I like how you can bring a reusable water bottle to refill using their drink station. My dog had a time running around and barking at everything. May return for future Bark N' Waves events.

Friday July 24th, what was intended to be a family day of entertainment was significantly disrupted by an undisclosed early park closure and, more concerningly, the manner in which my concerns were handled by members of management and the customer relations staff. As a customer, I chose the convenience of purchasing my tickets online through the "Choose Your Day" option, trusting that the information presented during the purchasing process accurately reflected the operating hours for the date I selected. It was only after speaking with staff that I was told the early closing time was displayed elsewhere, in one specific location on the website only. Upon reviewing the website, I noticed that the booking process and the park calendar present information differently--one calendar displays operating hours while the "Choose Your Day" purchasing flow does not clearly communicate those same hours. I also wish to note that the "Event" tab also did not display a change in hours of operation. It is my belief that this inconsistency is where the miscommunication originated. Had the early closure been clearly and prominently disclosed during the actual ticket-purchasing process, I could have made an informed decision about whether visiting that day was worthwhile for my family. When I approached Customer Relations to address the issue, I encountered multiple other unhappy guests with similar concerns. Rather than receiving a meaningful explanation or an effort to de-escalate the situation, I was met with an irritated staff member and what appeared to be a scripted, robotic response. I attempted to explain this distinction and even show the purchasing process I had used so management could better understand my concern. Unfortunately, I was repeatedly interrupted before I could fully explain what I believed to be a flaw in the customer experience. Furthermore, I had additional concerns that I was never given the opportunity to fully explain. During our visit, I was sold food that was rotten and subsequently refunded. As I attempted to explain the entirety of my experience, I was repeatedly spoken over and prevented from fully expressing my concerns. Rather than listening to my concerns or investigating the issue, I was spoken over, my explanation was dismissed, and the interaction escalated to the point where I was threatened with security in front of my children and instructed to leave. This prevented any meaningful dialogue and left me feeling that my concerns were never genuinely heard or considered. When the General Manager, Joey, became involved, I expected that a senior representative of the park would take the time to listen to my concerns and work toward a reasonable resolution. Instead, I was told that this event is "held every Friday" and that he "did not have the time" to deal with my concerns. This statement was particularly troubling given that I was an actively paying customer attempting to address a legitimate concern regarding the services I had purchased. I was given no clear explanation as to why guests who had purchased tickets expecting a full day could not simply remain at the park for the event, or another appropriate resolution for the reduced experience I received. This experience raises serious concerns regarding the customer service standards, de-escalation practices, and management training at the Houston location. A guest who is frustrated by an unexpected change in operating hours, a food-quality issue, and an inability to receive a clear explanation should not be treated as a problem to be dismissed. A family entertainment venue should be particularly mindful of how guests and their children experience conflict. Threatening security rather than attempting to de-escalate a legitimate customer-service complaint is not consistent with the family-friendly environment Typhoon Texas advertises.

The place seems rather small compared to an amusement park like Six Flags, but it's just enough. Kids can easily spend 30 minutes - 1 hour in just one location so I really like how they can enjoy their time and casually play without parents feeling overwhelmed to get everything done to maximize the amount of money spent. We didn't host a birthday party here, but there were other parties booked. I don't know how much it costs, but let me say that the decorations were beautiful! I'm not sure if it was included or if the parents decorated themselves, but if you wanted to go all out for your child, you certainly can. The staff were also ALL super sweet and friendly! The place plans for everything, like rain. They had numerous umbrellas for patrons to use within the grounds. When it started to rain, all the staff were asking if we needed umbrellas, and one even was willing to run in the rain to get us one! Seriously, I've never seen such hospitality in an establishment from everyone! How about this: #1000, I'm the first one to write a review on it, and one of the great rollercoasters in the country. The Boardwalk Bullet opened in 2007 a few feet from Galveston Bay. It's a woodie, and it's a crazy one. I had heard that the Texas Cyclone was relocated here from Astroworld, that DID NOT happen, these are two very different coasters. From a distance, it looks like it would be a lot of fun. The reality is much greater. First, you're waiting in line, and when the train zips under you, the entire structure shakes. Second, there is a place to put your hat, purse, phone, etc.; loose articles are prohibited. If you're nervous about riding, simply step through the train and leave, although you just lost $6 by doing so. If you do sit down, you're in for a thrill. I rode near the back, but I don't think there's a lot of difference between front and back. The Bullet never slows down from the first drop to the finish. There are three big drops, and they're all gnarly. The big feature, indeed is speed: although it barely goes over 50mph, the turns are tight, the drops are sudden, and you have only a split second to prepare for anything. The Bullet packs a lot into a small space, which makes it more intense than 80mph on a 200-foot drop. Its high noise level increases the excitement level. It's like a smaller version of the Ghost Rider in California's Knott's Berry Farm: smaller, shorter, but the same out-of-control feel. Some coasters are yawners. Others have you say "hey, that was pretty good." The Boardwalk Bullet is one of those that you'll want to ride again and again and again.

My only small complaint is that the restrooms didn't have paper towels, only hand dryers, which I personally don't love. Other than that, everything was good. The boys went home full, happy, and satisfied. All in all, it was a great way to spend a Tuesday night, and I'd definitely recommend Slick City Action Park for a kids' party or just some active family fun.
