Even though it was a hot day, there was a good amount of shade throughout the park, along with lots of picnic tables where families could sit, relax, or enjoy a snack. There is also a nice playground, which gave our toddler another fun option when he wanted a break from the equipment. The bathrooms were clean and well-maintained, and we especially appreciated that they had two family restrooms available. There is also a concession stand for snacks and drinks and a gift shop at the end, which was a nice touch before heading home. After driving over an hour to get there and find a parking spot, I realized I forgot our wristbands and had to pay another $20 just to get into the Park one last time which was so much drama despite the fact 1) they could've given me a sliver of Goodwill as someone who has bought multiple season passes and drinks and food while there for multiple years and had no issue purchasing replacement wristbands over the past few years. I wasn't upset because of the $20. I was upset because of the experience. I bought a season pass with every intention of using it this summer, but life had other plans. My entire summer was spent caring for elderly parents, and I barely had the opportunity to come to the park. Looking back, I would have been better off buying individual tickets. Today was the one day I had left to bring my daughter before the season ends. After driving more than an hour to get here, I realized I'd forgotten our season pass tags. Instead of a little flexibility or customer goodwill during the last week of the season, I spent nearly an hour walking back to my car and trying to work something out before finally paying the replacement fee anyway. The money wasn't the point. The lost time and the way the situation was handled completely changed the tone of what was supposed to be one enjoyable day after an incredibly difficult summer. Policies are important, but so is customer service. Sometimes treating a loyal season passholder with a little understanding creates far more goodwill than strictly enforcing a fee. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me not to renew next year. I'll be looking at other parks instead.

The place seems rather small compared to an amusement park like Six Flags, but it's just enough. Kids can easily spend 30 minutes - 1 hour in just one location so I really like how they can enjoy their time and casually play without parents feeling overwhelmed to get everything done to maximize the amount of money spent. We didn't host a birthday party here, but there were other parties booked. I don't know how much it costs, but let me say that the decorations were beautiful! I'm not sure if it was included or if the parents decorated themselves, but if you wanted to go all out for your child, you certainly can. The staff were also ALL super sweet and friendly! The place plans for everything, like rain. They had numerous umbrellas for patrons to use within the grounds. When it started to rain, all the staff were asking if we needed umbrellas, and one even was willing to run in the rain to get us one! Seriously, I've never seen such hospitality in an establishment from everyone! I also would recommend going here on a weekend because according to their website, more stations and activities are open during that time. Even if it's more crowded, I think it is worth it. If you want to do something different for your child, then I would recommend this place!

How about this: #1000, I'm the first one to write a review on it, and one of the great rollercoasters in the country. The Boardwalk Bullet opened in 2007 a few feet from Galveston Bay. It's a woodie, and it's a crazy one. I had heard that the Texas Cyclone was relocated here from Astroworld, that DID NOT happen, these are two very different coasters. From a distance, it looks like it would be a lot of fun. The reality is much greater. First, you're waiting in line, and when the train zips under you, the entire structure shakes. Second, there is a place to put your hat, purse, phone, etc.; loose articles are prohibited. If you're nervous about riding, simply step through the train and leave, although you just lost $6 by doing so. If you do sit down, you're in for a thrill. I rode near the back, but I don't think there's a lot of difference between front and back. The Bullet never slows down from the first drop to the finish. There are three big drops, and they're all gnarly. The big feature, indeed is speed: although it barely goes over 50mph, the turns are tight, the drops are sudden, and you have only a split second to prepare for anything. The Bullet packs a lot into a small space, which makes it more intense than 80mph on a 200-foot drop. Its high noise level increases the excitement level. It's like a smaller version of the Ghost Rider in California's Knott's Berry Farm: smaller, shorter, but the same out-of-control feel. Some coasters are yawners. Others have you say "hey, that was pretty good." The Boardwalk Bullet is one of those that you'll want to ride again and again and again.

My only small complaint is that the restrooms didn't have paper towels, only hand dryers, which I personally don't love. Other than that, everything was good. We also rode the boat and had a blast--the crew was so fun, energetic, and engaging. We finished the day riding all of the rides, many of them multiple times, and the kids could not have been happier.
