Lifeguard's umbrellas collapsed means rain is coming.

I have quite of disappointments with Typhoon Texas Waterpark in Katy Texas. But let's talk about the good things first. I was there on July 26, 2025 as part of the Katy Pride celebration along with other LGBTQ patrons at the park, plus other young and old parkgoers. Overall, this is a family-friendly waterpark. Everything was in order. I didn't have problem getting there from Houston. Although it was a very long ride, especially stuck in a Saturday commute on Highway 10. I originally saw the map on the computer thinking this was a huge park. But after walking around, this place is quite small to me. The lazy river, aka The Lazy-T, has really short loop. I couldn't get on other rides because there was a weather alert. Everyone had to be off the rides until weather authority cleared the thunderstorm warning. I don't know why they didn't tell us when I bought the ticket or even at the entrance. Speaking of my experience at the entrance, I got stopped for bringing unopened bottled water. Okay fine, I took it back to my car. I saw the dress code requirement poster at the locker wall. I took a picture to make sure my shorts were up to standard. Okay, now that's talk about my bad experience. I had a run-in with an employee who appeared to be a supervisor or lead of some sort because of his attire is very different from other employees. I asked him what was going on and why everyone is evacuating. He told me to "put something on to cover up." Huh? cover up what? I was wearing a Speedo swim shorts for swimmers. I specifically looked at all pictures and descriptions, mine was nothing close to be an undergarment. According to the dress code rules, men have to wear board shorts and women can wear bikini shorts. That's definitely sexual discrimination. I even took the shorts to guest services desk to verify. Both male and female employees agreed that was acceptable. At that time, the only thing came to my mind was that the "supervisor" was discriminating gay Asian male to be at the waterpark. I didn't see another Asian man in the whole park. I really don't want to make a stink about this. Because I really like this waterpark. But I will complaint to the management. I want them to clarify what men can wear to enjoy the park. p.s. According to Tajah R's review, the photo of "David" doesn't look like the "supervisor" I encountered. I wish I took a picture or ask for his name.

Expensive and poor poor poor customer service. Inquiring about the cabana and was ping ponging between stations because each place kept referring us to the other place. Drink stations don't know anything about the products they sell. Drink band on menu - don't know anything about that. How much is red bottle - don't know. How much is white one - don't know. Which one is $14.99? Don't know. Not only do they don't know - they don't give a F. They just stand there and stare at you. Like move on (except nobody was behind me). Went to guest relations and they don't know either! Equally clueless. Not sure how they stay in business. Oh I know. $400 weekend cabana rentals and high admission prices ($60/pp and that's the weekday price). Well we did end up getting a cabana eventually although we did later see a large covered picnic area and multiple covered smaller picnic tables so maybe the cabana was not needed. Cabana comes with free water and a hotel sized locker at the cabana - so I got a good deal ... right? FYI No food allowed inside. The cabana has a personal food concierge too (I've posted the menu prices). But they're kinda useless as I asked for more water and never got it despite reassurances they'd do it. There's a button to call them too. Useless. Lockers available for rent (see pic) and life jackets available for those who can't swim well. Also they sell various swim wear there in case you forgot something. WiFi for VIP members whatever that is but not needed as cell reception strong (T-mobile at least). Folks were smoking in cabanas and there were armed guards walking around so I guess they have issues

We came on Thursday and it wasn't really crowded. We loved it since the line wasn't very long. They have 2 different kids area which I really enjoy since my kids have more to do. The food was like any waterpark but the pretzel was soft and warm. It was the best. I took away a star because some of the food stand were closed an hour before the park close and the one that was open was slow service.

First of all they opened 3 hours late and closing early. We paid $54 dollars per ticket and they won't even give you a ticket to return on a better day. Water is freaking cold and it's sprinkling on and off. Park was almost empty today but they didn't cancel or close. We had a scheduled event and this is so wrong of them to do this.

This review is late. . Visited this place in July! Got a Deluxe Cabana! If you thinking about it, just do it. It was completely worth it on a very hot Texas day. The cabana was big enough for about 6 people. There's a ceiling fan, a safe and an ice chest that they provide ice and a few bottles of water. This cabana also comes with a host. Our host was Maria. She was amazing! We will NEVER forget her and definitely appreciate her! They were short staffed that day and was doing the best she could but we were all over the park so it was okay. We scheduled when to bring lunch. In the cabana you are able to order food and drinks. This saved us from standing in lines for food. The park had something for everyone no matter the age. There are people that don't understand that when someone sits alone in the corner they don't necessarily want to be bothered. Other than that others respected space and had a great time. Can't wait to return. Definitely hope Maria is there again!

I have been waiting to try Typhoon Texas for years now. Despite many of the reviews and some things I have heard, I wanted to try it for myself. I paid over $85 for Sunday tickets. First and foremost, I am not sure why it was so costly for Sunday tickets. There are literally about 4 adult rides in this whole place. I guess free parking comes with it? The drinks were not as expensive as anticipated, so that was a plus. You are looking at about $8 for beers and $10-15 for the big frozen drinks. I forgot to mention that you are allowed 1 bottle of water per person and no snacks when entering. This place was so packed with people for how small the park is. It was not enjoyable at around 2 pm. We did have fun at the lazy river, but there needs to be some sort of cut-off amounting to fewer people at this park. It's just not big enough. While there are plenty of places to sit and eat, there isn't enough space for people to swim. I felt like a sardine in the lazy river at many points. Kind of trying not to dry heave thinking about everyone packed in the same water as I was... The bartenders were young 18 year olds that were moody because it was so hot. I almost didn't blame them. It was 100° outside this day and felt hotter than that! Altogether, I was glad to have at least checked this spot off of my list. Although, I won't be returning.

Lines were long and it's not even Sumer. It's also just a Sunday afternoon. The rides were fun, but they need a more defined line system. The food was good until I found a French fry with mold on it at the botem of the bbq sandwich basket. Vibe was way off. They were playing summer adds even though it's fall. Most of the staff was pretty rude as well. The only thing g saving them from getting one star is the fun level of the slides.

Kids, grandkids, everyone had a great time. Our rooms weren't anything special but we didn't come for the rooms. They were clean and comfortable and that's about all we needed from them. The water park was the best part, and the kids did enjoy themselves, but everything outside of that was frustrating. At Fireside, our server Kennedy seemed irritated and rushed, and we repeatedly had to track her down for basic service. I was able to eat, but my sister's burger was served incorrectly and completely raw inside. She had to wait while the rest of us finished eating, and by the time we got someone's attention, the other food locations had closed, leaving her without a meal. Guest Relations offered bowling and mini golf as compensation, but there were less than 30 minutes left to use them. We tried bowling anyway, only to have balls get stuck and pins become tangled repeatedly. We had to find an employee around 8 times before giving up. Our room also repeatedly became extremely hot even after adjusting the thermostat, making it difficult to get comfortable or sleep. Even the children's water area had issues. Glass was brought into the area and broken, causing it to temporarily close. We also experienced inconsistent enforcement of the children's area rules. When a lifeguard in orange Elijah would hold the door for children to escape then cornered my 2 year old daughter shaming her for doing what every other kid was doing playing in the water at the bottom of the slide. Overall, we spent far too much of our trip trying to find employees, deal with broken amenities, and get basic issues addressed. For the price, I expected much better customer service, working amenities, and a comfortable room. Unfortunately, the water park was the only part of the experience that lived up to our expectations.

They have special pricing for family tickets - minimum of 4 tickets - and those below the age of 3 are free. If you play Jurassic World Alive, there's a special incubator you can get there. This is set up OUTSIDE of Katy Mills Mall... on the parking lot, to be exact. It's fairly obvious and easy to get to. We went with our 2 young kids, ages 3 and almost 7. We watched Jurassic World 2 nights ago to be prepared and the experience largely follows that movie. You're one of the visitors to Isla Nublar and you get a VIP tour that also includes seeing the hatching room and petting baby dinosaurs - namely a parasaurolophus and ankylosaurus (Bumpy). You also see the raptor cage and even sneak past a T-Rex! No Pterosaurs though. We heard there's a chance of jump scares courtesy of Blue, BUT that didn't happen on our tour. I assume it's because our group had a lot of young kids. A bummer (we prepared our kids for any possible ones, but it didn't happen). There is a human in the Blue costume. I felt that part was fairly tame - the fog machine helped set the scene but it was still PG. Maybe even G. Overall, it was pretty fun! For about $20 per person including the discount, it wasn't bad because the animatronics were pretty impressive. Family friendly, though one kid (maybe aged 7-8?) was scared with the T-Rex. Videos and cameras are allowed, just no flash. You get many photo opportunities throughout, staff will help you with photos, and you have a chance to buy the ones you take at the beginning. They have a gift shop where most of the things are overpriced (shirts, plushies). I grabbed a magnet and some postcards. I was also tempted with the posters. The biggest thing is they clearly favor certain dinosaurs over others. My daughter's favorite is stygimoloch but other than him appearing in the tour, he had no merchandise. On the plus side, I didn't fork over $30 for a Stygi plushie or shirt. I also wish there was a jump scare to make it feel completely worth it, but it was still great fun - especially for dinosaur lovers! Got home a few hours later and my 3 year old kept on saying how the dinosaurs were fun. Expect to spend no more than an hour there though.

Even at check-in, they didn't mention any of this. Not what we expected when the menu online had much more of a selection. It was basically a kids menu. So, we had no choice but order what they had. A corn dog, wings and chicken tenders. Gross, gross and gross. Undercooked corn dog, dry wings and processed chicken strips. The swim up bar was closed. The snack shack was closed. The slides were closed. Everyone was nice, but the person on the phone clearly should have told us what we were walking into. They put us in the spot right next to the playground area. We called and asked if the lights were on all night and how bright they were. Yes, on all night and no, not bright, was the answer. Good thing we requested to move because those lights were incredibly bright! Even from four spots down! Sunset was nice. Park is clean and maybe it's fun when they are at full capacity and everything is open and functioning, but it was less than stellar of an experience. Limited on pretty much everything. No maps with park info or anything. We tried to make the best of it, but not what we expected at all. Pretty bummed about the whole experience.
