Fun & Great experience if you can manage to go on weekdays. On weekends its crowded and useless to get the FastPass but during summer breaks, I also take a day off to enjoy with kids and its worth it. I bought season passes several years in a row and it's the very last week of their season. I've been taking care of my grandmother and my mother at hospitals and nursing home most of the summer and only got to bring my daughter one previous time and wanted to take my daughter for a final day where we didn't have to be all stressed out. After driving over an hour to get there and find a parking spot, I realized I forgot our wristbands and had to pay another $20 just to get into the Park one last time which was so much drama despite the fact 1) they could've given me a sliver of Goodwill as someone who has bought multiple season passes and drinks and food while there for multiple years and had no issue purchasing replacement wristbands over the past few years. I wasn't upset because of the $20. I was upset because of the experience. I bought a season pass with every intention of using it this summer, but life had other plans. My entire summer was spent caring for elderly parents, and I barely had the opportunity to come to the park. Looking back, I would have been better off buying individual tickets. Today was the one day I had left to bring my daughter before the season ends. After driving more than an hour to get here, I realized I'd forgotten our season pass tags. Instead of a little flexibility or customer goodwill during the last week of the season, I spent nearly an hour walking back to my car and trying to work something out before finally paying the replacement fee anyway. The money wasn't the point. The lost time and the way the situation was handled completely changed the tone of what was supposed to be one enjoyable day after an incredibly difficult summer. Policies are important, but so is customer service. Sometimes treating a loyal season passholder with a little understanding creates far more goodwill than strictly enforcing a fee. Unfortunately, this experience has convinced me not to renew next year. I'll be looking at other parks instead. read more

went here last year, and I noticed that the men's bathroom stalls across from the BBQ place had bent slats so anyone could look in while you were changing or using the restroom. several of the rooms would not lock. people were peeking into the stalls and making comments. I decided not to change my clothes as I felt uncomfortable doing so. I told guest services and they said they would handle it. We came back today, and OMG, the same slats were bent and there were even more openings. people were peeking into the stalls and giggling and laughing. The doors would not lock, so people were opening the doors, exposing 8-12 year old boys to the crowds. finally, I managed to get into a stall, I am an adult, so I tried to change out of my bathing suit into my clothes. i turned away from the door and tried to hold the handle with my hand as the door would not lock. the kids outside the door were laughing as they could see my butt through the bent slats and they were laughing and making comments. and they kept trying to open the door, which I was trying to hold closed...... totally inappropriate. I told guest services and the girl said "ok, I will pass your comments on to management" and then went back to chatting with her friends. the other adults with me reported similar issues, being exposed as others opened doors that would not lock or comments from kids that were peering through the bent slats..... not ever going back here again. and if you go, I recommend you take a buddy to the bathroom to block the door and prevent others from peeking into and seeing you change clothes read more

I have quite of disappointments with Typhoon Texas Waterpark in Katy Texas. But let's talk about the good things first. I was there on July 26, 2025 as part of the Katy Pride celebration along with other LGBTQ patrons at the park, plus other young and old parkgoers. Overall, this is a family-friendly waterpark. Everything was in order. I didn't have problem getting there from Houston. Although it was a very long ride, especially stuck in a Saturday commute on Highway 10. I originally saw the map on the computer thinking this was a huge park. But after walking around, this place is quite small to me. The lazy river, aka The Lazy-T, has really short loop. I couldn't get on other rides because there was a weather alert. Everyone had to be off the rides until weather authority cleared the thunderstorm warning. I don't know why they didn't tell us when I bought the ticket or even at the entrance. Speaking of my experience at the entrance, I got stopped for bringing unopened bottled water. Okay fine, I took it back to my car. I saw the dress code requirement poster at the locker wall. I took a picture to make sure my shorts were up to standard. Okay, now that's talk about my bad experience. I had a run-in with an employee who appeared to be a supervisor or lead of some sort because of his attire is very different from other employees. I asked him what was going on and why everyone is evacuating. He told me to "put something on to cover up." Huh? cover up what? I was wearing a Speedo swim shorts for swimmers. I specifically looked at all pictures and descriptions, mine was nothing close to be an undergarment. According to the dress code rules, men have to wear board shorts and women can wear bikini shorts. That's definitely sexual discrimination. I even took the shorts to guest services desk to verify. Both male and female employees agreed that was acceptable. At that time, the only thing came to my mind was that the "supervisor" was discriminating gay Asian male to be at the waterpark. I didn't see another Asian man in the whole park. I really don't want to make a stink about this. Because I really like this waterpark. But I will complaint to the management. I can't speak much about the waterpark since I came for Bark n' Waves with my dog. They had the wave pool, splash pad open for the doggos. Also a few vendors like Pet Suites, Rover Oaks, and a few vets in the area. My dog had a great time. However, I do wish they would put some temporary doggy bag stations since not everyone picked up after their dogs unfortunately. Tickets were $5 per dog and comes with a human ticket. Their check in process was quick, a waiver is required to be signed prior to entry. Parking was free and plenty, there were a fee concessions stands open offering funnel cakes, ice cream, fries and tots. I like how you can bring a reusable water bottle to refill using their drink station. My dog had a time running around and barking at everything. May return for future Bark N' Waves events. read more

After reading other reviews, I am very curious if anyone has had a similar experience with purchasing tickets online. Friday July 24th, what was intended to be a family day of entertainment was significantly disrupted by an undisclosed early park closure and, more concerningly, the manner in which my concerns were handled by members of management and the customer relations staff. As a customer, I chose the convenience of purchasing my tickets online through the "Choose Your Day" option, trusting that the information presented during the purchasing process accurately reflected the operating hours for the date I selected. It was only after speaking with staff that I was told the early closing time was displayed elsewhere, in one specific location on the website only. Upon reviewing the website, I noticed that the booking process and the park calendar present information differently--one calendar displays operating hours while the "Choose Your Day" purchasing flow does not clearly communicate those same hours. I also wish to note that the "Event" tab also did not display a change in hours of operation. It is my belief that this inconsistency is where the miscommunication originated. Had the early closure been clearly and prominently disclosed during the actual ticket-purchasing process, I could have made an informed decision about whether visiting that day was worthwhile for my family. When I approached Customer Relations to address the issue, I encountered multiple other unhappy guests with similar concerns. Rather than receiving a meaningful explanation or an effort to de-escalate the situation, I was met with an irritated staff member and what appeared to be a scripted, robotic response. I attempted to explain this distinction and even show the purchasing process I had used so management could better understand my concern. Unfortunately, I was repeatedly interrupted before I could fully explain what I believed to be a flaw in the customer experience. Furthermore, I had additional concerns that I was never given the opportunity to fully explain. During our visit, I was sold food that was rotten and subsequently refunded. As I attempted to explain the entirety of my experience, I was repeatedly spoken over and prevented from fully expressing my concerns. Rather than listening to my concerns or investigating the issue, I was spoken over, my explanation was dismissed, and the interaction escalated to the point where I was threatened with security in front of my children and instructed to leave. This prevented any meaningful dialogue and left me feeling that my concerns were never genuinely heard or considered. When the General Manager, Joey, became involved, I expected that a senior representative of the park would take the time to listen to my concerns and work toward a reasonable resolution. Instead, I was told that this event is "held every Friday" and that he "did not have the time" to deal with my concerns. This statement was particularly troubling given that I was an actively paying customer attempting to address a legitimate concern regarding the services I had purchased. I was given no clear explanation as to why guests who had purchased tickets expecting a full day could not simply remain at the park for the event, or another appropriate resolution for the reduced experience I received. This experience raises serious concerns regarding the customer service standards, de-escalation practices, and management training at the Houston location. A guest who is frustrated by an unexpected change in operating hours, a food-quality issue, and an inability to receive a clear explanation should not be treated as a problem to be dismissed. A family entertainment venue should be particularly mindful of how guests and their children experience conflict. Threatening security rather than attempting to de-escalate a legitimate customer-service complaint is not consistent with the family-friendly environment Typhoon Texas advertises. read more

My daughter's friend had her son a birthday party and they wouldn't even let her bring g in the cake . I would like to get a refund for monday if its possible i didnt even get to go on any ride , i paid for two full price tickets and didnt even get to enjoy it , i didnt even get notify that yall were giving rain tickets that day , and i went to guest service recently and got denied for any reimbursement, it makes me feel like yall are scamming me and my family , i go to your park every year mutiple times and now i feel like i dont want to attend your waterpark due to this reason because i got denied for tickets to park another day. It was unfair that you guys open up the waterpark when it was raining and everyone had to wait in line for that 713 special tickets to just go home after . I even brought a locker to store my stuff and brought 30$ in food to wait for the park to reopened. We love it! Typhoon Texas has all the things my kids want and more! We purchase the season pass yearly and it more than pays for itself! On some occasions we also get the fast pass ($15 each) so my kids can do the big slides faster. The staff is so amazing and cannot sing enough praise for the lifeguards! They are always alert and not on their phones ever! We get discounted tickets through the swim team and it's worth it! They also have discounted free refills cups. If you go for one day and really like it you can get a season pass upgrade! Definitely give it a try and get out of the heat! read more

Expensive and poor poor poor customer service. Inquiring about the cabana and was ping ponging between stations because each place kept referring us to the other place. Drink stations don't know anything about the products they sell. Drink band on menu - don't know anything about that. How much is red bottle - don't know. How much is white one - don't know. Which one is $14.99? Don't know. Not only do they don't know - they don't give a F. They just stand there and stare at you. Like move on (except nobody was behind me). Went to guest relations and they don't know either! Equally clueless. Not sure how they stay in business. Oh I know. $400 weekend cabana rentals and high admission prices ($60/pp and that's the weekday price). Well we did end up getting a cabana eventually although we did later see a large covered picnic area and multiple covered smaller picnic tables so maybe the cabana was not needed. Cabana comes with free water and a hotel sized locker at the cabana - so I got a good deal ... right? FYI No food allowed inside. The cabana has a personal food concierge too (I've posted the menu prices). But they're kinda useless as I asked for more water and never got it despite reassurances they'd do it. There's a button to call them too. Useless. Lockers available for rent (see pic) and life jackets available for those who can't swim well. Also they sell various swim wear there in case you forgot something. WiFi for VIP members whatever that is but not needed as cell reception strong (T-mobile at least). I've visited this park several times and appreciate the family-friendly atmosphere, but it definitely needs improvement--starting with management and staff training. Customer service is lacking, and I've encountered unprofessional and immature behavior from staff on multiple visits. A big issue is the lack of security for personal items. While there are lockers, the ground is far too hot to walk barefoot after storing water shoes--so most guests leave them in ride cubbies, where they often get stolen, moved, or trashed. The same goes for souvenir cups. It's frustrating to see guests constantly losing items, only to be offered replacements at a small discount--making it feel like a sales tactic. I've also noticed adults near closing time collecting multiple pairs of shoes, and this has personally happened to me more than once. Staff should also be more professional--cutting in lines during events for their own enjoyment is disrespectful and wastes guests' time. Please fix the odor issue near the refill station by the lockers. On the bright side, food options are good, there's solid law enforcement presence, and the dress code is enforced to keep things family-friendly. With better training and a few operational fixes, this could be a great park. read more

Why 4 stars? Because, so far, this is a great escape from the oppressive Texas heat. --- --- --- Our son loves waterparks and we have had our eye on Typhoon Texas for a while now. My wife noticed that they opened an entirely new area recently for kids our son's age (5), so we put it on our list to visit before the summer ended. The kiddo was about 41" as of our visit, and so he was able to enjoy: Typhoon Jr. (The aforementioned new area with 7 slides) The Gully Washer (7 slides) The Duelin' Daltons (Only 2 of the 5 slides were 40") Lazy T River Howdy Hollow Tidal Wave Bay (we didn't actually make it here) The top 3 were definitely the favorites for him. We covered all of that in about 2.5 hours, which included a brief stop for some french fries. One thing to know: around 1p on an August afternoon, the concrete got so hot that it was dangerous to walk on. Around 11:30a-12:00p, it was merely "very hot", but around 1:00 is when it got nasty. Keep your sandals on and leave them at the bottom of the slides. Take your hats and sunglasses off too because you can't have those on slides either! read more

We came on Thursday and it wasn't really crowded. We loved it since the line wasn't very long. They have 2 different kids area which I really enjoy since my kids have more to do. The food was like any waterpark but the pretzel was soft and warm. It was the best. Horrible service. My group of friends were stopped at check-in by DAVID and accused of having fake IDs. There was no real reason for them to be stopped, and it took for a police officer to come over and compare IDs for them to finally be accepted. Stood outside for 15 minutes being ridiculed. Disappointed. Credit where credit is due, I suffered from heat exhaustion and staff were quick to bring me to first aid. Also, very good live concert. read more

This review is late. . Visited this place in July! Got a Deluxe Cabana! If you thinking about it, just do it. It was completely worth it on a very hot Texas day. The cabana was big enough for about 6 people. There's a ceiling fan, a safe and an ice chest that they provide ice and a few bottles of water. This cabana also comes with a host. Our host was Maria. She was amazing! We will NEVER forget her and definitely appreciate her! They were short staffed that day and was doing the best she could but we were all over the park so it was okay. We scheduled when to bring lunch. In the cabana you are able to order food and drinks. This saved us from standing in lines for food. The park had something for everyone no matter the age. There are people that don't understand that when someone sits alone in the corner they don't necessarily want to be bothered. Other than that others respected space and had a great time. Can't wait to return. Definitely hope Maria is there again! read more

We've had season passes for two years now and just bought them again for next summer! My kids love coming and hanging out! We get there around 10:45 and grab a table then get in the slides before the lines get too long. The lifeguards do a great job in the wave pool with enforcing rules. The kids love getting Dippin Dots and the burgers aren't that bad. We leave around 2:30 before the older kids come in and it gets packed and crazy. read more

I have been waiting to try Typhoon Texas for years now. Despite many of the reviews and some things I have heard, I wanted to try it for myself. I paid over $85 for Sunday tickets. First and foremost, I am not sure why it was so costly for Sunday tickets. There are literally about 4 adult rides in this whole place. I guess free parking comes with it? The drinks were not as expensive as anticipated, so that was a plus. You are looking at about $8 for beers and $10-15 for the big frozen drinks. I forgot to mention that you are allowed 1 bottle of water per person and no snacks when entering. This place was so packed with people for how small the park is. It was not enjoyable at around 2 pm. We did have fun at the lazy river, but there needs to be some sort of cut-off amounting to fewer people at this park. It's just not big enough. While there are plenty of places to sit and eat, there isn't enough space for people to swim. I felt like a sardine in the lazy river at many points. Kind of trying not to dry heave thinking about everyone packed in the same water as I was... The bartenders were young 18 year olds that were moody because it was so hot. I almost didn't blame them. It was 100° outside this day and felt hotter than that! Altogether, I was glad to have at least checked this spot off of my list. Although, I won't be returning. read more

We went on Friday 6/21 and it was crowded. It got more crowded starting at 7 cause it was opened til 10 pm for neon night. But it got rowdy and cops started coming around 9 so the park had to closed because some fighting. It started good but left by 9 cause of fighting. I took my nephew Wednesday 07/31/2025, l think one thoughtful improvement would be to put fans under the tent. It's so hot out there. there are no cooling stations and with all the cement it's like an oven. If they at least put fans up, it would make it more tolerable and more enjoyable. I went a few years ago, l thought l was going to die. I was close to having a heat stroke. I was throwing up, my legs were cramping; l was so scared l was going to die. I laid on a bench and went to sleep, l was sick for three days after that. After that l was traumatized and afraid to go back. I finally built up the nerves to go Wednesday, it was hot but l bought several neck fans and l stayed out of the sun. Of all things to happen this past weekend at Typhoon Texas, this was not something I was expecting. Me and four other friends all arrived at the front of the park on Saturday, the 19th, and waited around 15 minutes in line before we got to the table. No issues whatsoever with the staff until we were stopped by a man wearing a Polo and sunglasses asking to see our IDs. We figured it was protocol, (despite other people not getting ID'd) so we complied. After him and another man checked our IDs for no more than a minute, he handed us the IDs and said, "yeah, so these are all fake. We cannot allow you guys entry, so we can either issue you a refund or give you tickets to come back another day." We stood there baffled for a moment before I spoke up and asked, "I'm sorry, our IDs are fake?" He nodded and repeated, "they're fake. Valid IDs are required to have certain things on them in order to be considered valid." I then asked him to specify what they were missing and he proceeded to tell us, "no, because then you'd make better fake ones." Understandably, my friends felt insulted, defeated, and wanted to leave as soon as possible. Considering the fact that we are all POC, it didn't feel right for me to just let this happen. I spoke with another worker and requested to speak to someone about the man and what I could do because I knew for a fact our IDs were valid. It was then revealed to me that the man who denied us entry, David, was the VP of the waterpark. After a few minutes, he walked up to us with a police officer and asked if we had other questions. I repeated what I said before and pointed out the fact that he couldn't specify what the actual issue with our IDs was. The officer then took my ID and looked at it. After a minute of holding it up to the sun and comparing it to his own, he said I was fine. I said, "okay. Can you check the other ones?" Unfortunately for David, we were all good to go. They offered to refund our tickets and let us in for free. For the rest of the day, we forgot about it and had fun anyways. We even got to see a live band (shoutout to Take it to the Grave). However, I felt the need to share this information for any future attendees to point out the fact that this was, very clearly, racially motivated. In another review my friend made, the park responded by saying, "mistakes happen. We DID refund your tickets. We're glad you were still able to have fun." For me, that's not enough. Had I not said anything, we would've been sent away and not returned. They would've gotten what they wanted. In a city as diverse as Houston, you'd think stuff like this wouldn't happen at a waterpark of all places, right? I am utterly disappointed with Typhoon Texas and urge others Houstonians to find a better place to spend your time, money, and energy. read more

The water park is cool very awesome but the VP of the place, not so much. DAVID was racially profiling my friends and I, said our IDs were fake but couldn't tell us what was fake about it. Denied us from entering even though we paid and our IDs are literally from the DPS. David was talking out of his ass tryna make some lame bs answer to drive us away. I've been to typhoon multiple times over the years, and never have I ever been stopped at the front of the line for an "ID check". My friends and I (as young as 21+) were stopped at the front gate and asked to give IDs. That's fine, we hand them over to the security guard and some man named "David" accused all SIX of our IDS of being fake, no questions asked. When asked why they believe the ID to be fake, the security guards got snarky with us and immediately "refused us service" without telling us how our IDS were false (which they weren't). It took us talking to an actual COP to get them to re-check our IDS and let us in. I originally just got a refund for the blatant disregard and respect in the first place. Why spend your hard earned money on this place when you'll be turned away from the gate at random! All of my friends and myself are POC, to paint a clearer picture. We were let back in the park after talking to an actual cop, which was so inconvenient and embarrassing because what do we have to lie about to get into a waterpark. Not a bad park! The season passes are reasonably priced, parking is free. And the food isn't too bad - especially the pizza! Love the fact that the overall theme is not too extraordinary that the younger kiddos can't participate, but not too lax in that the older ones get bored. I visited Typhoon Texas for the first time with my 3 boys on a Friday and we had a really great time! I had no clue about this water park when my son mentioned it to me. Tickets were priced at $40.00 a person on their website but we got a deal thru YMCA where four tickets were $120.00 along with 4 souvenir cups. Each cup sells for about $12.99 at the park so in essence, we got a good deal. You can also upgrade your tickets towards a season pass. The rides were nice and lines were moving quickly. I figured it was best to come on a weekday as schools were out and the place gets crowed during weekends. I think they have about 7-8 major rides/slides. . Their wave cool is a major attraction but We couldn't enjoy the wave pool since it was so crowded and not a single lounge chair was available towards the afternoon, and it was super hot. The park itself was very clean and maintained well. Even the bathrooms were pretty clean and I was pretty impressed. They had eateries throughout the park but I did not care for the food, plus prices were pretty steep. They do not allow you to bring any food or drinks or coolers inside the park other than water. You have the option to leave the park and have some lunch at one of the many restaurants nearby and on the main street of where the park is located and then come right back. Overall, we enjoyed our visit and I'd go back. Typhoon Texas is competitive with other amusement parks because of ticket pricing. While it may not have as many rides, it still is a nice place to visit. read more

My family has gotten season passes every year since the park opened. My kids love it here and I'm so glad to see all of the new additions they've introduced this year. It's really cool to have "big rides" for the little kids. My daughters love it. I only wish they would've had these two years ago. It would've saved my oldest some heartbreak because she's stricken with having short parents so she's short as well. Haha! But she's big enough to ride everything this year. There's something to be said about delayed gratification too. The staff is very friendly and always accommodating. An observation that I've made over the years is that they're more than willing to make special accommodations as long as you approach them correctly. Some accommodations they make solely based on how you ask because they're not requirements. If you present your situation in a sincere way and are respectful and honoring, from what I've seen and experienced, they will definitely take care of you. If you have a bad attitude and are demanding and unreasonable, often times the guests walk away with a bad taste in their mouths, and it's their own fault. I often times see several cabanas not being used. I'm not saying that they should allow guests to use them for free, but maybe lowering the price might allow guests to justify spending a little extra for premier seating/lounging. But that's my opinion. The food is definitely good for a water park. Some of the best that I've had in fact. I'm always amazed at the barbecue. Not because it's the best, but it's always better than I expect it to be. Especially the sausage on a stick! Fire! My only complaint about the food is sometimes the chopped beef is very greasy and the fries are not as fresh as they could be. Other than that, we've been very pleased with the food. We also noticed that this year they started doing a few more interactive activities with the kiddos at the kids area. They had chalk for the kids to draw with and had hoolah hoops and did other fun things with them. I'm not crazy about the safety breaks, but it is what it is. All in all, we love Typhoon Texas and will continue to be guests here for years to come! read more

Not a family friendly place. If you are young and into HipHop this is an excellent choice though. I have a special needs son who does not manage loud heavy base music well, so I paid the extra $500 for a premium cabana trying to get a quiet place for him. Unfortunately they play very loud hip hop with a stage full of base by the wave pool. And that's great, I just wish they would advertise the venue more in line with what it is. read more

A group of recent high school graduates visited the park around 8:15 PM, hoping for a fun evening. Unfortunately, they were forced to leave shortly after due to a shooting and a major altercation in the park. They only managed to go on one ride before the incident. Each ticket cost $55, totaling $165 for the group. When they approached the staff to request either a pass for another day or a refund, given they didn't get to enjoy the park or spend sufficient time there, they were told to leave and informed that no refunds would be issued. read more

First time going on the last Thursday of July this summer and it was better than I expected. Got there early when they opened, got a good parking spot, got in quickly, and got a good spot at a table to put our stuff under shade. Price to get in was decent buying online ahead of time ($25), pretty good compared to other water parks we checked. Lines weren't too crazy long, seemed clean, at least towards the first part of the day. After like 4-5pm it felt more crowded and not as enjoyable. And surprisingly had a good experience with some of the young staff working there. From my experience at other places young staff is ride or have no customer service experience with adults at all. But the young man at the BBQ place was very cordial and helpful. Also the young man at one of the slides where you go head first was funny and great with the kids. So I was glad to see at least a few young people enjoying and doing a good job! Overall kids had a good time and enjoyed all the areas. Only bad thing was the food/drinks. Pretty expensive for what you get and you're stuck buying there unless you leave and go back in. At least they allow empty water bottles to refill but would be great if they allowed a snack per person at least. That would definitely help large families with the expense. read more

Considering this is a FAMILY establishment, you would think there would be a dress code. We all know people need to be told what is acceptable and what is not... I took my family to celebrate my little boys birthday and everywhere we looked there are fully exposed buttocks and boobs popping out from "bathing suits". I was completely appalled at the lack of concern for scantily clad bodies in a "family environment" I feel like there should be some kind of dress code considering children are running around the park everywhere . Shame on you, Typhoon Texas. My family and I are going to go to a more appropriate waterpark moving forward. Maybe they should consider an adult themed day for people to wear almost nothing... it is definitely not appropriate for children. read more

You can have some Ty-fun at Typhoon, especially if you're of the younger variety, in which case why are you on Yelp. Famous and enjoyable Waterpark geared towards kids right next to Katy Mills in Katy. It's not so amazing for adults but it's still a nice water park. Not the best one in Texas but arguably the best one anywhere near Houston. I wish it was open during the winter time because it really could be because I mean let's face it. You have water parks in much colder climates open all summer. Much colder than a Houston winter. I also wish it was cheaper. read more
