Super cute spot for a date night if she's into a bit of a thrill. However, this is definitely an awesome place for kids! My son absolutely loved the experience. The have food, beer/seltzer and waiting area for all racers to be until their name is called. They should definitely have a few more games to keep customers busy, I walked in and one guy was sleep on the bench and nearly missed his turn. The only issue I had is the employee mentioned that the next race for my son would be "in about 15 minutes" so we bought several races on the premise of thinking that we'd have enough time to do them all in one night! Well, she lied! We ended up waiting nearly an hour! I was pretty PO'd. However, you can keep the races you bought until next time you visit. Sucks if you don't live close though. This is way too expensive for what it actually offers. I was charged $66.33 for 2 10-min races which is supposed to be a "deal" somehow. The staff on hand clearly hates their job and couldn't be bothered to look into a simple problem I encountered. In my 1st race some asshat hit me at almost full speed in the back of their "very expensive" go karts. I brought up the issue when I passed by the flag dude and he didn't seem like he even had a singular fuck to give. He said "just keep racing" which is pretty hilarious because on their wall in bold font it clearly says NO BUMPING. The party that bumped on me faced 0 consequences by staff because as I said prior they have 0 fucks to give. I understand with go karting there is a risk but no one goes karting and says I hope I get to rammed today! If you are going to have rules maybe try enforcing them? Now I have pretty bad neck and back pain. Do better K1 Speed this is the 1st and last time I will ever visit this dumpster locale. read more

There are couches and chairs to watch the races or the multiple TV sets. The price is not cheap. At the same time I appreciated how much staff there were. They were friendly and serious about safety. The building is clean inside and out. The arcade was nice and I thought the pricing was appropriate for the amount of games we were able to play. We drove over an hour to get here. I'm an engineer. I know how to measure the height of my kid. He's slightly over 48" which is their posted height requirement. They don't spell out any other conditions. When we got there they were hassling him about being right over the 48" line and then made him sit in the cart. He could put his foot to the floor but they denied him and said he isn't tall enough. He was devastated. He was waiting to hit their height requirement for over a two years so he was very excited to finally meet the height requirement and he brought his friend for his birthday - who was also disappointed. They should change their website but said they don't have access to it. Be aware, even if your child is 48 inches they might not let them race. read more

Deserves a 0. Had a party of 5 that arrived and bought 3 races and was told it would be a 50 minutes to an hour. After asking when it would be our turn after an hour and a half, we were told we were the next race. Twist: we weren't. After waiting a total of 2 hours we were told our first race would be another wait of 40 minutes but it would be free (of course we had to complain first). After waiting and seeing more people, who arrived well after us, get to race before us, we decided we had enough and wanted a full refund so we could cut our losses and go do something fun. It was my best friend's little brother's birthday (11 years old). Extremely disappointing and the staff was rude and unhelpful. We were laughed at for waiting so long and not calling ahead of time to check the wait time. How that makes sense at a first come first serve place? I don't know. Manager seemed unbothered and reluctant to even give us the one free race that his staff had offered us. (He decided it was fine after a minute of thinking.) But we don't have all day to wait after you've already killed the fun Saturday we had planned with your rudeness and lack of care for your customers. Nothing to do but leave a bad review and hope to save others from this birthday killing experience. read more

AMAZING..... all i have to say - spontaneously brought 12-14 friends today and K1 accomodated. we all had so much fun, i do recommend spending that extra 5$ to record a race one time, it makes for great memories. you can decide between 1/2/3/5 or more races. 6-8 minute incrimites, - its worth it bring some water for water or grab some of their beverages. the staff is great, we do plan to come back thank you for your expertise... 5 STARS read more

My friends and I were excited to come here, but was quickly disheartened when we saw the race before us kept stopping seemingly every minute. Because the cars are electric, the overseers had control of every car. In other words, they can stop all the cars at any time. They stopped the race at every small collision, every racer who had to go in reverse, every time someone just hit the side a bit. It didn't look fun and when it was our turn, the race kept stopping. The cars also seemingly brake for you whenever you slow down. Driving felt unnatural...they sacrifice fun for safety. The steering wheel is not round, so turning is hard. This is not a place to go if you're an adult because they really cater to kids. Also, it took me forever for my nachos to come. I mean, forever and ever. read more

I was skeptical about going here because of the location in sort of a desolate location but I was really impressed. This is a well managed, efficiently run, clean establishment. I think it is a great place for family fun. When you go in, you register your profile and then go pay for your races and find out how long it will be until you race. We went on a Saturday afternoon and we had to wait about an hour and 45 minutes, but we went to Sam's Club in the meantime. They have some video games and other stuff like air hockey to pass the time, but I think it would be better if there were other entertainments there to pass the time if you have to wait awhile. If it is your first time , they provide an orientation with a focus on safety. I liked that because there are some people who might drive aggressively on the track and that makes it a little less fun for novices like me. People can still go fast but they discouraged from ramming people or making them crash into a wall. You will hear your name over the loudspeaker and you go to the entry gate. You're given your head sock to wear under your helmet (95% less chance of cooties that way!) and then they put you in your cars. As soon as the previous race is done, they roll you out onto the track. It is fun but a lot of work. I was sweating by the end of my first race! It was a lot of fun and there were people going super fast but they were able to go around Grandpa Bill. We finished the first race and waited about 20 minutes for our next one. Our times improved considerably. It is cool because they email you your results so you have a record of each race along with your splits. If you have a pre-teen or teenager, I think this would be a popular place for a birthday party. There were a couple going on when we were there and you should have seen the kids faces after the races. They were stoked and to be honest, I kind of was too. We got two races and for two people it cost about $90. I would definitely do this again. read more

INTRO: I recently went to go-kart here and this was my first time ever going go-karting. I must say that this was so much fun!! I will definitely be back. I have seen a few reviews but K1 definitely deserves more credit. I came with my cousins, so a party of 7 (5 adults and 2 kids). Unfortunately, the kids were only a few inches short from being included into the adult races (has to be 4'10 and above) but that didn't stop us from having fun. There was a full group of people in the adult races but everyone followed the rules pretty well. There were employees who explained the rules and the parts of the go-kart before entering the track. I forgot who helped us get fitted for helmets but they had blonde hair and glasses (so thank you for helping us!) There are pretty much 2 distinct rules to follow and that is: brake during turns (no drifting!!) and no bumping into other people since this is not bumper cars. DURING: As soon as we started the race, I was super nervous but it was so much fun! I was a little scared at first since everyone was going super fast and grouped together but once I got the hang of it, I was super comfortable and couldn't wait for my next race! The adults in my group did 3 races in total and the kids did 2. I think that 2 races is perfect for any first-timer because my hands were starting to get sore after the second race. After each race there is a paper printed with your name on it after you exit the track stating your fasted time, average time, and your place in the race. I thought that was super cool! After each race we had time to cool off and rest before the next race and we got to watch the kids race in the meantime. I thought that it was good to space out the races between the kids and adults so no one is too tired for the next race. OVERALL: I think that K1 needs to get more credit for the work that they do. My whole group and I really enjoyed our time here and almost half of us were new. I think this is a great experience for anyone who wants to try go-karting whether for someone's birthday or just to go on the weekend. Everyone was super nice and explained everything very clearly. I have been to this location more than three times the employees are incredibly funny and great. They have refreshments and food in case you're hungry as well. It's a bit pricey but for racing it's great. I tried it once for my boyfriends birthday and ever since then I have been hooked. This place is fantastic, you don't have to have insurance or a license or anything which is good because I do not. They didn't even ask me about the Chewbacca costume, just let me ride and I screamed the entire time, it was very cathartic. If you're having a mid life crisis you don't have to buy an expensive sports car. Just come here, hop on the wide expanse of the track, peddle to the metal, and cry until you forget about your ex-wife and the alimony payments. I manage the internship program for my organization and for a farewell event we went to K1 Houston. I had a group of 35 people, they were able to host us very comfortably. We purchased the Gran Prix package, they split us up into three groups. We all had a practice race (12 laps), qualifying race (14 laps) and a final race (16 laps). During the races the group is able to watch at the tables nearby. You can also play at some of their arcade game and play pool while you wait. We also rented a room to have lunch before we started the races, we catered Rudy's BBQ. I highly recommend this to anyone, regardless of the size of your group! read more

Customer service is horrible. Carts are in need of replacement (badly). You're forced into a membership; when we live no where close to location... My Dad lives in south padre area... Only thing cool was the "go pro" like camera, but even that was as ridiculously expensive (5$ per race... when you buy 3x races, 3x people, it becomes more than a race). I would rework the website and if you have paid for a ticket, you should be able to put your name into a slot (use it or lose it) and actually "Arrive and Drive"! This is a great family fun activity. Especially for those adults who want to be a kid again. K1 charges $6 for a racing license. You can purchase one single race all the way to three. It cost me $55 for the license and three heats (race). The three of us had a ball. On another note up to 9 people were on the track. I will warn anyone that is not as competitive as I am to take some Aleve. I was bumped and battered all throughout the race by people not apart of my group. By the way these kids are mean! Some people will take this go kart racing seriously. I was happy to just have some fun. At the end of each heat the results are printed up on a sheet of paper. There are refreshments for you to purchase during your 15 minutes breaks between the heats. I will certainly do this again in the near future with more friends. read more

These aren't the putt-putting lawn mower karts you get at those outdoor mini-golf parks. So prices will be signicantly higher and there are stricters rules. Plus I get to wear a cool helmet. Which is exactly what I was looking for as it gives you a taste of track racing. As a tip, first register at the computers BEHIND the attendant before waiting in line to pay/ask questions. Because the staff will tell you to do that first and then return in line. I came by myself so I got into a kart after 20 mins. Even though the karts are electric they definitely are quick (although one kart I had had terrible acceleration). As a warning there are drivers who are aggresive in getting that fastest lap time. So be prepared to be shoved out of their way. Plus the attendants will flag you to yield to them. I may be guilty of this since I know my way around a track if you get my drift haha. Compared to Track 21 which is the only other indoor go kart track I know of in Houston, K1 has a newer, cleaner layout (also they have the AC running!). The only real cons are the wait times. I've tried to come as a group before and the 2 hr wait deterred us. read more

Worst track I've been to. I travel all around to different states and always go to K1 . The track itself is pretty fun . The staff frankly not great at all and since covid they just got worse . I've come to this location about 4 times (recently moved and it's the closest one ) Other tracks try to pair you with ppl around the same skill or at least make ppl follow rules. This place lacks in using the cards or even the flags. Half the time the just talk to each other. Only one person at the counter ever. Had a team member get upset with me because he was calling " My name " however he wasn't actually calling my name or at least didn't know how to pronounce it. Confusion on both parts but still shouldn't be upset that I didn't know you called my name if you said it wrong with probably 20-30 other people around. This place could be a good place to race again if they just did some simple updated staff training. read more

Me family and I went racing and our last race was with a big group and crowded. There were some carts that were faulty and inexperienced drivers. There were a decent amount of accidents during the race and we had to stop multiple times to assist the drivers. This made the race very slow and not really a race at all. But, I was able to talk to the manager about this and he was very understanding and professional. He then gave us an extra race on the house. Other than the one race, the whole experience was good. Carts are fast, helmets are clean, and the staff is very friendly. If you're looking for something fun to do on the weekend or whenever its worth the money. read more

They purposely slow people down to let their regular guy Tom Richardson be their top 1st place EACH time. They give him special treatment and let him race every race, as well as move to the very front of the track before the race starts. He bumped into someone and the guys who control the carts purposely slow the hit driver, and let Tom pass. How the hell is that even fair? After voicing our concern, the staff just shrugged it off. We were told to come back the next day at 12 and after a 45 minute drive, found another corporate party.
