This is the only ride in the Jurassic World and it's super popular. When we went for the ride the wait time was close to half an hour but we got to skip it using the Express Lane passes. The car navigates over the water going through some of the parks and ecosystems seen in the movies. In the later part of the ride Chris Pratt shows up in video recording trying to warn the riders about the dangerous T-rex from the movie. Then the ride goes into complete darkness, eventually ending with a semi big drop in the water. The splash from the drop is not too bad, I barely got any water sitting at the back row. I overall liked the ride, especially the surprise drop that came out of no where and they had camera taking pictures of everyone's reaction. After the ride, the guests exit through the gift shop. It has plenty of amazing Jurassic park merchandises, including some autographed by different personnels. The store also had products from few other franchises as well. The staff members, both for the ride and the gift shop, were very friendly. read more

I honestly think Jurassic World-The Ride is my favorite ride at Universal Studios-Hollywood! This ride was awesome! It's a 25 seat water thriller ride w/ an 85 foot drop at the end. Lol, we didn't know what to expect from this ride but as we got seated before starting, we noticed everyone had ponchos. Definitely expect to get SOAKED throughout the 7-8 minute ride, not just at the end hahaha. I've always been a fan of water-coasters & this one was one of my favorites that I've ridden! Make sure to go on this ride if you're headed to Universal Studios-Hollywood! Back in my day, we didn't need a 400-ft LED screen to make the dinosaurs feel real... but I will say the "new" Mosasaurus addition at the beginning of this ride is awesome! This ride is on the lower lot of Universal Studios, the last time I won on this was almost 20-years ago. They've done a great job at keeping this attraction fresh, with the addition of the Indominus Rex & T-Rex fight, a few extra spitting dimos, and aforementioned Mosasaurus. I took my seven-year-old son on this, who is a huge Jurassic Park lover, but I did not tell him about the 80-ft drop at the end. His face on the ride drop picture was totally worth it! He loved the ride so much that he rode it again with his mom. A few things... - Definitely get a poncho. We didn't do this and got a little wet, but not too bad! - Don't want to wait in line? If you ride solo you can hop right on Pro Tip: If you have child or attendee with you that's neurodivergent you can ask for a guest accessibility card or "IBCCES" through the Universal Studios website. Typically, there is a low wait time on this ride. You can get wet depending on where you sit! This cruise ride will take you through the Jurassic World. You may see a few different dinosaurs on this ride such as the Mosasarus, Stegosaurus, and even the Indominus Rex! The concept of the ride is that the Indominus Rex has escaped from the Paddock. Re-Vamped! I truly enjoyed the renovated Jurassic World The Ride! I remember when the ride had an open drop concept. Now it's closed at the final drop. The ride itself is more enjoyable. They've added characters and clips from the Jurassic Park movies. I like the tunnel with tv screens of dinosaurs on it. It is very interactive in that you get squirted with water when going through the tunnel. I like the design and how they upgraded it. The seating is more comfortable too. Jurassic World, an immersive area at Universal Studios Hollywood, features the thrilling attraction Jurassic World - The Ride. You will feel like you have stepped right into the movie! Jurassic World - The Ride is a thrilling ride that features an original story that takes place within the theme park as depicted in the blockbuster Jurassic World films. The original Jurassic Park - The Ride which operated from June 21, 1996, to September 3, 2018, underwent a major refurbishment and reopened as Jurassic World - The Ride. Guests enter through the Jurassic World gates and into a series of switchbacks. The queue is designed to look like Isla Nublar from the film. The queue is covered with posters and billboards explaining the dinosaurs at the park. Overhead, video monitors display "Jurassic World Network", the island's TV station which plays Dino facts and also interviews with characters from the film. As guests approach the loading area, smaller monitors display safety info before guests board their boat. Each boat is capable of holding up to 25 people. The ride begins by climbing the first lift hill and the boats are taken to the Mosasaurus Aquarium Observatory, encountering the Mosasaurus. The boats then go into Herbivore Valley, a lush tropical area, where riders meet a mother Stegosaurus and her baby and encounter a Parasaurolophus before entering Predator Cove, where riders see carnage has ensued after the Indominus rex escaped with the other dinosaurs. Riders overhear that the ACU (especially Dr. Wu) is being called in to round up the escaped dinosaurs, passing by a damaged Gyrosphere and a pair of Compsognathus / Procompsognathus fighting over a tourist's hat. Claire Dearing comes in over a monitor and tries to comfort the riders, but her signal cuts off before riders travel up the second lift hill, where they see the "Indominus" herself spying on them through a hole in the nearby wall. Owen Grady then patches in and advises the riders not to move out of the boat. He then sends Blue the Velociraptor to help the riders escape. As the boat nears the top of the lift, the first Velociraptor holding a destroyed electrical wire lunges at riders through the ceiling. Following attempts by two Dilophosaurus to spit venom (actually water) at riders and a close call with the Indominus, the riders meet up with Blue, who leads them to an exit, but the Indominus arrived there first. The Tyrannosaurus Rex then arrives and attacks the Indominus; their subsequent fight buying riders some time to escape. My oldest and I loved this ride. It's near Nintendo World, where we usually go first thing in the morning and then hit Jurassic ride before going back up. The ride starts off slow taking us through the Jurassic park introducing us to various Dinos. They have a story behind every ride here. This one is about one of the Dinos escaping the park and trying to catch us. It's an entertaining ride. The ending is amazing. The ride picks up speed and splashes in the end. The ride is in a boat so ya know you are goin to have some water action. The ride starts off very much like the movie. Us, tourists, set out to view Jurassic Park on a relaxing boat ride. Out in the open air, not in an enclosed room. We spot docile dinosaurs in the water aquarium and on land. But oh no, the alarms go off. Indominus Rex escaped and is on the loose. She is coming after us. Yikes. As she stalks us, we see other dinosaurs in a frenzy. But wait. Tyrannosaur Rex appears. An epic battle ensues between the two of them. As they fight, our boat plunges over 80 feet. Prepared to get wet, not drenched though just wet. The voice overs were of the actual actors from the movie (Chris Pratt and Bryce Howard). The animatronics is pretty neat. The dinosaurs moved and some even spit at you. Make sure you look right, left, in the water, and up high. The animatronics are next level, and you truly feel immersed in the Jurassic Park universe. Easily this attraction was my parent's favorite ride, and in my top three. I'm more of a coaster enthusiast so The Mummy Ride has my heart. There is a ride photo, so be sure to smile as you make the drop to end the ride. The only downside is that they will run the ride even if the screens and animatronics are not running. This definitely impacts the quality of the ride, and wish they wouldn't run without it or allow you to return later when it is back to fully operational. read more

Jurassic Park is the scariest movie of all time. Yep, I said it. Don't even try to fight me on this. Have you even seen a velociraptor?!?!? I always ask guys what dinosaur they would be on my first date with them...then judge them harshly based on their answer. Jurassic Park enters so many parts of my life, but most recently this scary @$$ ride at Universal. This used to just be the plain ol' Jurassic Park but clearly y'all don't understand a rebranding moment for a new movie! You'll see some main human characters from Jurassic World but they also changed up some of the effects to bring it a bit more into this decade. It's a water ride so you may get wet, but interestingly I somehow always escape the water works. Watch me get drenched the next time I ride. It clocks in at a bit over 7 minutes which is a decent run time for a ride but I could float along the calm waters a little longer if they'd stretch it out a bit. I still feel like they could do more. It's missing a bit of the oomph! My issue with Universal is that they have the BEST theming ever...but something with the execution just always falls a little short. How does this always happen with us Universal!? You bring me so close----and then stop. Is it too soon for another rebrand?! read more

Disclaimer: I don't believe dinosaurs existed millions of years ago. In fact, most of these dinosaur depictions are pure fiction and make believe to help promote a mega billion dollar business IMHO but let's just say for the purpose of this review we can imagine they did exist millions of years ago. This ride is entertaining and well made. Dinosaur recreations are well made and leave little to the imagination. If you sit in front you will most likely get wet. We sat in back and still got a little wet but you will dry off quickly esp if it's sunny. The wait is somewhat long so prepare for a 40-55 minute wait if you go around 12 in the afternoon. My 8 year old son thought the ride was scary but enjoyed the experience. There is a playground next to the ride which is a good way for the kids to play and enjoy dinosaur fossil models and such. 3 solid stars for the ride! read more

I honestly am not impressed with this new ride. Yes, it has great special effects, but it's way too short and it doesn't have enough dinosaurs. You go from the water dinosaur to all of a sudden tyrannosaurus like dinosaurs escaping who you really don't see until the end. Like 3 at the end? Then you drop and it's over. I literally couldn't believe the ride was that short! They also rerouted the splash zone so that when you drop you don't really splash people and I could be wrong but the drop seems shorter. I was disappointed. I guess they spent all their money on the stars who show up on screen for the introductions for the long lines. Waste of a two hour wait. read more

Dinosaurs, water, and Chris Pratt, what more is there to want? Go to the lower level to find this ride. The line is usually not too long. As you wait, you will wait amongst dino facts and also pre historic like plants. There is a video that gives some entertainment with the dinosaur facts and interviews with actors from the movie. The ride is a boat ride. Yes you will get wet. There are dinosaurs everywhere on this ride. The dinosaurs are cute but also scary. Little kids be wary because it can be scary for little ones. If you are scared of heights, just know there is one major drop at the end of the ride. Hit or miss if you get soaked or just splashed. Don't risk it on a cold day but perfect for a hot valley day. Bring a change of clothes or wear a poncho if you don't want to get too wet. It is a fun dinosaur Jurassic World adventure! A must for universal theme park! read more

I've been on the one in FL but it was before the "new" Jurassic movies were out so they've modernized it since then which means the dinosaurs are bigger and badder. Action, suspense, and getting a little wet. The Jurassic World ride was the most exciting ride for me at Universal. I've never ridden the Jurassic Park ride this replaced but it seems like it greatly improved on the previous generation design. I appreciated how the ride was long and the wait 15-20 minutes on a weekday. It's part outside-ride, a brief section using screens that was well done, and dark ride with plenty of thrills via animatronics. Love how most of the ride is practical effects and the end part in the cave was timed masterfully with a lot of time spent in the literal darkness hearing troublesome sounds in the blackness. You get wet, not soaking wet but enough to have wet pants and shirt and not wet socks and shoes. There are a couple times on the ride where you will get wet and not just the drop at the end, it felt like any time I took my phone out for video or pictures I was getting sprayed by water. Kid loved the ride and went on once with me and once with my wife. Both time he buried his face in us during the dark cave sequence but jumped out and threw his hands up as soon as he felt the drop. read more

More like a 3.5, but I'm rounding up since I'm a huge suckers for dinos anyways. I was one of those "dinosaurs are my entire personality" kids growing up. Loved the Jurassic Park series and had the wonderful opportunity to ride the OG ride a year or so before it closed down. There was a 10 minute wait to get on this ride on a December Monday and despite being in the 2nd row we barely got sprayed on or wet at all. I've gotten wetter on Pirates of the Caribbean before. Not sure if they changed the amount of water or the acceleration of the ride to acclimate for the season? The Mosasaurus part of the ride has an "aquarium" screen that you can look at and I thought it was pretty dang detailed and convincing looking. Loved the herbivores, just wished there were more for that animatronic portion of the ride and then there is the carnivore section where all hell breaks loose. The carnivore section is both outside and inside as well. For some reason the drop did NOT feel as intense as the OG one from what I remembered. Even Splash Mountain had a stronger dropping acceleration going down (despite a shorter drop length?). Once again I'm not sure if they changed up the acceleration for this ride on different days or something. Not to be a hater but I feel like my expectations were much too high for this ride. Oh well, love the Jurassic World part of the lower lot regardless! read more

We rode on the new Jurassic World Ride in Universal Studios yesterday and as much fun as the ride itself, the long and agonizing wait time for a ride that was practically over in two seconds did make worth it to cue for that long. It's interesting experiencing it once but unless the cue is 1/4 of the crowd we had line-up with, we won't be experiencing the Jurassic World ride again for some time. read more

3 5 This rain in particular always has a long wait time in actuality. It was the ride that we waited the longest for and wasn't worth the high length of time. Will you waiting approximately 80 minutes? I feel like waiting for this ride was definitely not worth it. It's the line stretches so far. It's like you're in a long maze. We went on a cooler holiday Thanksgiving cooling temperatures where there wasn't extreme heat but the lines were long and I started to fill it in my calves and in my hips 80 minutes for a ride that was maybe 2 minutes. No. This is a water ride so you will get wet the best I could say. If you don't want to get wet, get into the last row of the boat people in the front and definitely would need like a poncho or I had at least and maybe a sweater to throw on you so you want to get this wet read more

Jurassic World is a great ride located on the lower lot of the Universal Studios Holywood Theme Park. I had ridden the previous version of the ride way back in the day and really enjoyed the ride and the little hidden secrets (such as the floating mickey mouse ears) found throughout. The ride has since gone through some major renovations and overhauls to update the theme to that of the latest movies and it truly shows the amount of work that has gone into it. From the moment the ride begins it is beautifully themed and the intricacies throughout are prevalent and really a joy for fans of the movie franchise. The digital screens of the water and swimming dinosaur, the screens featuring Chris Pratt and the thrill of the ascent and subsequent 84 foot free fall drop is thrilling throughout. The recent changes really modernized it and brought the ride into a new era of fandom and I found it to be fantastic. This is a definite must ride for me and I highly recommend checking it out for yourself the next time you visit this park. read more

There are 2/3 instances where dinosaurs splash water on you and it's pretty luck-based if you get wet or not but for the final drop everyone gets wet for sure. The additions in the beginning with the giant screen making it look like you're with that giant whale-like dinosaur and it splashes you is a fun addition. Back to the ride I loved Jurassic Park , was one of my favorite rides that universal has added to the revamp / remove list. It still has good vibes but missing some nostalgia . They really want people to be soaked on the ride . It has the interactive Mossasaur portion early on similar to the King Kong feature on the Tram. You see some old and new Dinosaurs on the ride . Jurassic world was Very enjoyable , rode it 2x . First time was 90 minutes wait then 105 so grab water put on that sunscreen and keep the convo going to pass time. This is one of my favorite and top ride at Universal Studios. I took my wife here on the first day of our honeymoon and we of course went on this ride first when the park open. If you don't want to get wet then don't sit in the front or close to the side. The ride is almost like the original, they just updated certain things and of course added more holograms. They take your picture on the drop and will show you on the monitor but you'll have to buy it if you want it. They don't allow you to take pictures of it with your phone camera unless you somehow do it without being notice. We also went back before we left the theme park and we didn't have to wait long in line. read more
