    Pre-show for Fall Guy (May 18th 2024)
    Diele K.

For a limited time in May there was a Fall Guy stunt, which I thought was phenomenal and glad I got to see it during its short time. The show overall is always spectacular and I can't stress this enough... if your seat is marked a splash zone, then be prepared! You WILL get wet. It's quite hilarious when it isn't you, but I can see folks getting upset as some areas get absolutely drenched! Don't forget this works for Universal Express Pass if you purchased for better seat availability.

WaterWorld is probably one of those movies that kids have no idea what it was or about. I wonder if they'll replace this one day with something more "current." But it's a great sit and do nothing and enjoy a stunt show. Just beware, do not sit on the colored benches unless you want to get drenched. Even sitting a couple benches back, we still got a bit of splash back. The overhead covering isn't enough to keep the heat away, just beware of that if it's 90+ degrees. It's still hot. But again, if you're trying to just calm down from all the motion sickness full rides, this one is a great one just to rest with and it's full of great stunts!

    Action!

It's a fast-paced show that's funny (cheesy script), exciting and family-oriented. The stunts are pretty amazing and the special effects are spectacular! You may even get a little wet! Avoid the green seats if you want to stay dry. Take the kids, have a blast while enjoying the blasts, the falls, the jumps and all the action! If you've travelled all the way to California, this is a great way to catch some of that Hollywood Magic! It's also a great way to end your day at Universal Studios Hollywood! The kids love it! If you'd like to watch a snippet of the show, here's a link to a YouTube short: https://youtube.com/shorts/JjkDzdphTcc?si=z69UDsY4z4MwH21Y

Warning you may get wet. This was the first attraction we saw when we came to Universal. And it was a good start. First the build up was great. Before the show, the performers have a comedy routine explaining where you can potentially get wet. It's done is such a great way you can't stop laughing. Plus audience participation is mandatory. Then the actual show starts and it has its moments. There are some pyrotechnics, plenty of cheesy one liners, and over dramatic falls. But overall a good show. The audience laughed, booed, and had fun. So in the end it's a great time with friends and family. Overall five stars. It's a 20 min show that makes you well laugh, boo, and have fun. Yea I know I repeated what I just wrote but it's worth emphasizing again. Now excuse me, time to plan the next ride. M

I have NEVER seen WaterWorld (this show and the movie) and we came here since we wanted to kill some time and not wait hours in line. My friend who went to Universal earlier in the year said that this show was a must, so my expectations were pretty high. Just a word of warning, if you sit in the splash zone, YOU WILL GET WET, from actors spraying and dumping water on you, explosions, or jet skis doing turns, and so much. I don't want to ruin the plot but there's so much fire, stunts, fighting, explosions, diving into the water, and a huge unexpected crash that was pretty cool. Also I did not know the actors here were actual actors for other shows, so that's pretty neat too. You'll get a chance to meet them after the show. One of the MUST shows at Universal if you are planning on going!

    Live King Crab!!! Yummy!

Destino was our waiter and he was awesome and went above and beyond in his services and suggestions what's the best to order. We enjoyed the king crab, the clam chowder soup, tomatoes salad and all the other with snacks and everything. Highly recommend! Again Destino was great!! Bravo!

What I can say about the Coolest Show in Southern California only offered at Universal Studios Hollywood!!! Depending on how wet you would like to get will depend on proper positioning in the show... Green seating area gets you wet but sitting let of the tower getaway you drenched with the middle being the second wettest and the right and ok I'm wet but dry by the end of the show... The actors do change over time but they always give you the best show... Watching the show closer to twilight allows the pyrotechnics to really stand out and the Shockwave heat goes up a notch... All I can say is this is one show you have to watch when you visit USH!!! If you don't you will regret it..

This is one of the really good shows to watch when you are at Universal Studios. If you don't want to get wet, don't sit in the areas marked for that. If you don't want to sit in the sun, I would recommend standing in line early so that you can pick where you want to sit. If you like a show full of action, this is definitely the place. This show is based on the movie WaterWorld which was out a LONG time ago, but no matter, the show is action packed full of stunts. Enjoy!!

Amazing show! If you sit in the green seats you will be SOAKED! It was epic. Although should have done earlier show as was still damp heading home. Also, didn't realise it wasn't a ride but a show

    Lovely evening show.
    Ian M.

Absolutely the highlight of every time I visit this park. The performance never gets old and it never disappoints. This trip was cool cuz we caught the last showing just as it was getting dark. The explosions were even more powerful and the heat from them more intense. Outstanding actors, impressive stunt work, doesn't overstay its welcome, and usually hilarious with viewer engagement. Be ready to get wet! Stop by here for sure. I have a hard time imagining anyone being disappointed by the show. My in-laws were unsure about attending, but it was a highlight for all of them afterwards. Just do it. But get there a lil extra early as it does reach capacity at times. Now you know!

    Damn great show!

From the…read moremoment I arrived, it was clear that a great deal of effort goes into creating a positive guest experience. Parking was well organized, and the arrival process was surprisingly efficient considering the number of guests visiting the park. Team members were visible throughout the parking areas and entrance, helping direct guests and answer questions when needed. One of the highlights of my visit was the staff. Every employee I encountered was friendly, professional, and eager to help. Whether I needed directions, information about attractions, or assistance navigating the park, team members were approachable and knowledgeable. The park itself was clean and well maintained throughout the day. The themed areas were immersive, and the attention to detail was impressive. Walking through each section felt like stepping into a different world, and it was clear that the park takes pride in maintaining its attractions and common areas. The attraction lineup offers a great mix of thrills, entertainment, and experiences for guests of all ages. The Studio Tour remains a standout attraction and provides a unique look behind the scenes of the entertainment industry. There was more than enough to keep us busy for an entire day. I also appreciated the variety of dining options available throughout the park. Whether you're looking for a quick snack or a full meal, there are plenty of choices to fit different tastes and budgets. What impressed me most was how organized everything felt despite the large crowds. Operations ran smoothly, employees remained helpful, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and energetic. Universal Studios Hollywood offers much more than just rides. Between the attractions, entertainment, themed environments, and exceptional staff, it delivers a complete experience that is worth the visit. I would gladly return and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Southern California.

I expect rides to evolve and I'm fine with change. My concern is losing classic rides while everything shifts toward simulator‑style experiences. The park relies heavily on large-screen simulator rides. A couple can be fun, but the current lineup feels like too much. Many practical attractions have been removed, so traditional options are limited. If you dislike simulators or get motion sick, plan carefully, since most rides are now screen-based. The Studio Tour remains an exceptional experience. We enjoyed the King Kong, earthquake, and Jaws segments. However, the tour no longer includes the live action or stunt performances that were once part of it, which was disappointing. Jurassic World - The Ride is enjoyable with several impressive moments. However, I preferred the original Jurassic Park version, which featured more dinosaurs, the brachiosaurus, extended music, a stronger finale, and the iconic score when the gates opened. While the new ride's final dinosaur is larger and taller, it lacks the same up-close impact. Character interactions were the standout of the day. We were delighted to meet the Minions, Gru, and Donkey from Shrek. Donkey personally wished our son a happy birthday, creating a cherished memory. The Transformers, Bumblebee and Optimus Prime, were also exceptional. They engaged directly with our son, used his name, and provided a personal experience. A cast member portraying a New York character escorted us to the front of the Shrek queue, provided a virtual tour, and offered our son a hug. Cast members throughout the park were consistently friendly and contributed significantly to our day. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey caused severe motion sickness. The combination of rotation, vertical movement, swinging motions, and immersive screen visuals was overwhelming, especially after The Simpsons Ride. The effects lasted most of the day and continued for about a week afterward. My husband spent substantial time waiting on benches. I evaluated most rides in advance and declined many, including recommending against Harry Potter for my husband. We had a disappointing Scooby Doo and gang meet-and-greet. The app showed a 5:00 PM appearance. We arrived on time and waited over 15 minutes, then left assuming it was canceled. When we returned, the characters were finishing with the last guests. Cast members said they were done for the evening, so we couldn't take photos. Scooby Doo waved kindly when he saw our disappointment, which we appreciated, but we left without a picture. During a character queue, a staff member expressed frustration with our son quietly playing with the chain barriers, stating it gave her a headache. Super Nintendo World was a significant disappointment. We were denied access to interactive games without purchasing a Power-Up Band, priced at $46 or more. Unwilling to incur that expense, we exited with minimal engagement. I was relieved we had not purchased early access. Dining quality has declined at several locations. The $59 meal pass initially appeared economical but proved less cost-effective than individual purchases. To get value, guests must select higher-priced entrées, typically $16.99 or more, and additional snacks that may not be desired. Many restaurants lacked suitable options. I purchased packaged cookies for the hotel, but they were crushed in transit. Self-serve soda stations require a separate scanned drink pass cup for refills. I discarded my soda believing refills were included and was left with ice water. Mel's Diner and Luigi's offered limited selections, with issues including chewy pasta, soggy bread, and pre-packaged desserts. The Harry Potter-themed ice cream, featuring vanilla with chocolate or strawberry lining, cost nearly $30 and was underwhelming. Parking was $40 for general admission, with higher fees for preferred options. The handicap-accessible route was confusing and involved multiple loops, although staff provided helpful directions. Merchandise was expensive, with shirts at $40, wands at $69, and similar pricing for other souvenirs. The park's operating hours were shorter than expected for a summer visit, closing at 7:00 PM on our day and as early as 6:00 PM on others. This felt limited given the ticket cost. We appreciated the character interactions, the Studio Tour, and our family time together. I am glad we visited, but I miss the previous version of Universal Studios that featured more practical effects and a wider variety of ride types.

The attention to detail throughout the entire area is incredible, from the architecture and music to the little interactive elements hidden throughout the land. Even if you're not a huge Harry Potter fan, it's still an experience worth visiting because the atmosphere alone is so immersive. One of the best parts was how well the staff stayed in character and interacted with guests. Team members were friendly, helpful, and did a great job managing the crowds, especially around the more popular attractions and shops. Even when the area became busy, employees kept lines organized and answered questions without seeming rushed. The rides were definitely the highlight. Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey was one of the most impressive theme park rides I've experienced. The wait time can get long very quickly, especially in the afternoon, so I highly recommend going early in the day if possible. Universal's app was helpful for checking ride times throughout the day. Flight of the Hippogriff had a shorter wait but was still fun, especially for families or anyone wanting a lighter ride experience. Food and drinks are expensive, but honestly the themed snacks and Butterbeer are part of the experience. Butterbeer is a must-try at least once. The frozen version was my favorite, especially in the California heat. Seating around the food areas fills up fast during peak hours, so timing your meals earlier or later than normal lunch times can help avoid crowds. The shops inside Hogsmeade were extremely detailed, but they do get packed. Ollivanders was one of the busiest areas during my visit, and there was a wait to get inside. If you want an interactive wand experience, be prepared for the wands to be pricey, but the interactive spell locations throughout the land make it more fun and worth it for fans. One thing visitors should know is that this area gets crowded very quickly, especially midday and during weekends or holidays. Taking photos can sometimes require patience because there are constantly people walking through the main pathways. Early mornings and evenings seemed to be the best times for photos and shorter lines. Overall, this was one of the most immersive themed areas I've visited at any park. Universal did an amazing job bringing the Harry Potter world to life, and it truly feels like an attraction you could spend hours exploring. Definitely worth adding to your Universal Studios Hollywood visit.

The stores have souvenirs and snacks galore and kids of all ages (including me) can enjoy walking through shops and riding the rides. As much as people praise Disney, there is no "land" that impressed me as much as Super Nintendo World (may be slightly biased since I'm more familiar with this IP than with Star Wars). Lots and lots of animatronics all around and the attention to details must be commended. Even the restrooms are very strongly themed with the background music changing to match and it being underwater themed too. We were able to visit the set of Friends (one of my favorites) along with another sitcom set, though I can't recall the name. I do wish there had been more sets included on the tour. The experience is a mix of guided and self-paced exploration, which offers a nice balance. It wraps up with a gift shop at the end. Overall, a really enjoyable and worthwhile experience.

The Wizard World!!!…read more Hogsmeade has so much to offer. The first time I came here, I think I didn't do my research and missed out on some things. This time, I was prepared and wanted to do everything lol Hogsmeade is the place to buy robes to represent your Hogwarts House, and to grab your favorite magical wand! Run around with your robe, doing some spells with your wand lol There's plenty of Harry Potter gifts and souvenirs here as well. Make your way to the candy store, for some chocolate frogs and love potion. Then head over for some freshing butterbeer! I love that butterbeer is alcohol free, but you can find spiked butterbeer in the world. Don't forget about the two rides in Hogsmeade! One is a rollercoaster, and the other is a motion-based ride. The motion ride will make you feel sick if you get motion sickness. The rollercoaster is so quick! Over in 30 seconds lol Lots to do in this world and tons of fun! :)

From Ollivander's to Honeydukes, there's something for everyone! They have some shops from the series that you'll recognize as well, mostly for decor. They have interactive windows for wand holders which really make it immersive. Otherwise they still make for a great photo op! Always a place we like to drop by and highly recommend eating at the three broomsticks. It's fun just wandering around in your house outfit/colors. IG: @ammysalamii
