    My Pug's MRI image!

Dr. Jurney and the entire staff have been so wonderful to work with while I navigated my senior dog's sudden onset of seizures. Dr. Jurney offered way more insight to his condition and a better prescription regimen than my "regular" vet could and he's seen a dramatic decrease in the number of seizures. For that reason alone, I highly recommend paying her a visit if you are on the fence as to whether seek a specialist or continue with your regular vet. Appointment times are reasonable and the location is accessible right off the 101. The staff is great at responding to email inquiries in a timely manner. They also use online pharmacies so it's been a breeze to order prescriptions online and have them approve it.

I so wish my visit to Jurney had a happier ending. Dr. Jurney diagnosed our beautiful 3 year old French Bulldog with a brain tumor this fall. I had been worried after medication after medication wasn't getting her seizures under control. When I reached out to Jurney, they instantly got me in the same day. They worked closely with me and my sweet dog looking at every possible outcome. We did a spinal tap, MRI and even an overnight visit when she had a cluster of seizures that couldn't come under control. It was very expensive but told us exactly what we needed to know to make decisions. Sadly, just as she predicted, our girl died within two months. I hope I never have to see Dr. Jurney again, but I would absolutely recommend anyone facing this potential issue go to her. She was incredibly kind and took so much time with us reviewing the options and giving us all the medications needed to see our girl be comfortable to the end of her short life. If you're reading this review, I am so sorry you are dealing with this and hope your story has a happier ending.

I strongly recommend Dr. Jurney. My 9 year old Chihuahua was diagnosed with a severe IVDD in her Neck. She had two raptured disc in her cervical and had 50% compression of her spine which was causing her paralysis and severe pain. After discussing our options and trying alternative care we decided to move forward with ventral slot surgery (high risk as our dog is small). Four weeks after surgery our little one started to gain motion and is able to walk pain free. Dr. Jurney did a fantastic job performing this complicated surgery, which was a success. My wife and I are very grateful she was able to assist us. Dr. Jurney and her staff ( Anne and Evelyn) are by far the best I have ever dealt with in my experience. They have excellent bed side manner and take pride in what they do. My best advise, do not think twice. Your fur baby is in great hands with Dr. Jurney.

She's incredibly smart, compassionate, and genuinely cares about the animals she treats. Even though she's very busy, she always makes herself available and takes the time to listen and make sure I feel comfortable with what's being recommended for our little pup. I really appreciate that she's open to feedback and easy to talk to. I trust her advice and also think she's just a really cool person. The office staff is also great. They're kind, friendly, and usually try to to get back to me quickly. I've only met one of the other vets, Dr. Becker, but she was also fantastic. Highly recommend!

Dr. Bolich is our vet and I texted her immediately after the injury... she was on vacation out of state and gave me a great referral to an emergency vet. At the time, Dr Bolich was at the other site before moving to this location. The emergency vet she referred me to recommended amputation due to the injury and age of my cat (9 years old). Dr. Bolich had also said it was likely we would need to amputate due to the infection my cat got from the injury. He's an outdoor kitty and I knew if we had to amputate him he wouldn't want to live any longer. I begged Dr. Bolich to not remove his leg. She gave us a wild option: we could treat his wound with honey. It was expensive and the wound had to be re-wrapped every 3 days for a few months- but she gave us the options. We chose to take a risk and try therapy suggested knowing it might be in vain. Well, it worked. My cat isn't a nice guy to most humans - he's an ex-feral we adopted as a kitten and he can be a bit spicy, but the team Dr. Bolich has worked wonders. As you can see in his photos attached the honey treatment worked! His ligaments, muscle, skin and fat grew back in a couple months time. It's been eight months since his injury and he now has a full coat of fur covering his old wound! Dr. Jen even made friends with Jax and had him so relaxed in an uncomfortable environment. Thank you, Dr. Bolich, for your excellent and quick thinking and being open to an out-the-box treatment that saved our kitty and his leg. We meow you VCA!

I've taken her too many places to get her anal glands, excreted,, and this was the first place that they told me that I should sedate her with trazodone and gabapentin before I brought her in. To be honest with you, the Vet tech was quite rude. I was pretty taken a back, considering I've taken her to many other places, and they just put a small muzzle on her and extract her with no problem. Their rebuttal, was that they had a different philosophy and that if I didn't sedate her that doing the extraction could injure her. I laughed because I had a Chihuahua and they muzzled my Chihuahua six months ago. So they are being pretty hypocritical. Basically I'm upset because I had been a loyal client for over 15 years with multiple pets, and since I disagreed with their tactics of sedating my dog before an anal gland excretion... They thought it would be best if I'd go somewhere else. They also said that sofie had deep anxiety and was in a state of fear. Sofie was uncomfortable, but so are most dogs going to the vet. I've never had this problem with this vet team. But, the dynamics have changed and Dr.G would rather drug my dog than put a muzzle on her. Yet.. they felt good putting a muzzle on my 17 year old Chihuahua 6 months ago. Definitely going somewhere else where the veterinarian team are more confident in their skills, professional and know how to communicate. They definitely have a lack of loyalty.

Former Vet owner Doctor Cowing is unfortunately retired. This Practice now like many others are exploiting by charging over the top pricing. Adopting from a Shelter..... My thoughts; Truth is, senior dogs don't get adopted because folks fear vet bills that cost more than car repairs. Why not a "public defender" model from the ASPCA--free or low-cost vet care for adopted seniors? They've got the donations, the vets could chip in hours, and it would save lives. And while we're at it, stop feeding dogs the kibble equivalent of fast food. Senior pets deserve decent chow and medical backup. More adoptions, less shelter crowvding, happier tails.f

We've been taking our little pup to this establishment for 3-4 years or so for routine check ups,…read moredental cleanings, and have been happy with the care. Last month, our 11 year old hopped off the couch, cried out and was walking around lifting her hind leg without putting any weight on it. We took her to Animal Cove for an exam, where the veterinarian initially greeted us warmly. He diagnosed a grade 1-2 subluxated patella which he said was completely normal in this breed, monitor for a month and if still limping then surgery for the patella could be recommended. I did mention she wasn't just limping but pulling her leg up, and I felt rushed out and described to as a normal condition for her breed. An NSAID medication was prescribed for the month. Because of this encounter that sat uncomfortable with me, we took her in for a second opinion at a veterinarian I had taken my past fur baby to. This vet immediately identified that yes there was a subluxated patella, but also a completely torn ligament in her knee which could undergo surgery. We've since completed a referral to a surgeon the same week. Our pup has undergone surgery primarily for her fully torn knee ligament, and since the surgeon was at the site also operated on her subluxated patella, two weeks ago. I could recommend this establishment for routine care, but would advise caution for any urgent or emergent care for any differential diagnoses.
