This area of the market is huge and I do mean filled to capacity with made from scratch whole of half cakes, cream, custard or fruit pies, breads, rolls, sticky buns, tarts, cobblers, whoopie pies, muffins, apple dumplings, cupcakes, cookies and of course shoofly pie. I know some of you who pay an arm and a leg for a cupcake, but here they are very reasonably priced and just as good and as fancy as the ones you pay top dollar for. I bought a half of a black forest cake, a half pumpkin cheesecake with a sour cream topping, both were so delicious, a few loaves of bread, two packages of freshly baked sandwich rolls, a few whoopie pies and a pumpkin roll, love pumpkin and this roll was filled to the brim with lots of cream cheese filling. I hate to bake, they love to bake and they do it so well. We have very few good bakeries nearby so it is a real pleasure knowing that I have the Dutch Country Bakery close enough for me to stock up the fridge, freezer, pantry and yes it will eventually be stored on our bodies.
