Despite serious health concerns (hysterectomy with residual endometriosis, spinal cord tumor history, ongoing hormone deficiencies), my treatment has been handled more like a med spa add-on service than true medical care. Key issues: * Unqualified staff handling medical intake: My "front desk" contact and the person who weighed me, took my vitals, and gathered my medical history turned out to be an aesthetician/laser tech, not a licensed nurse or medical assistant. This was never disclosed up front. * Delayed and inconsistent communication: Messages and emails often came weeks late, sometimes signed by the provider but sent from the aesthetician, which was very confusing. * Poor hormone management: Instead of adjusting carefully, all three hormones (estradiol, progesterone, testosterone) were doubled at once based on outdated labs. This led to massive swings in my levels -- from dangerously low to excessively high -- with no timely re-testing. Requests for labs at 6-8 weeks were dismissed, leaving me symptomatic and in the dark for months at a time. * Provider focus elsewhere: The main clinician splits time between a hospital job and this spa, and a location in Franklin and it shows. Patient care feels like an afterthought. Bottom line: Hormone replacement therapy requires careful titration, close follow-up, and trained medical professionals. The spawn has a busy schedule (school, sports etc.) but Seena took that into account and worked with me to find a time that worked. Throughout the appointment, decisions were made without explanation, including applying additional bleach and charging me $50 for toner without ever discussing the cost or expected result. When I expressed concerns about the color and wanted to make sure we were on the same page before cutting my hair, I was asked if I didn't trust her rather than having an actual conversation about expectations. The haircut was equally confusing. I was told she was only trimming my hair before the color service and would complete the haircut afterward. I changed my original haircut request from a long bob to long layers during the appointment, but the haircut was never completed. When I questioned this at checkout, I was told the haircut had already been done before the color service, which directly contradicted what I had been told earlier. After nearly four hours, I left with wet hair, unsure if I had even received the haircut I paid for, and feeling like my concerns were being taken personally instead of being addressed professionally. The issue isn't that I didn't get a perfect result. The issue is that there was little consultation, poor communication, and no real attempt to resolve concerns when they were raised. That's something potential clients should know before booking.
