I mean, there's Korean, and hibachi, and other cuisines that interested me more than chicken tenders. I'm only in the mood for those once in a while. But now I am sad that I waited. Because they were darn good. I got the just tenders: four tenders, fries, slaw, and a drink. For $16 I think. Big meaty tenders, juicy, tender, cooked up well and the coating just right, and some seasoning in the coating. The fries are good, pretty standard thin, crispy fries. The slaw was OK. Pretty creamy. And you have your choice of basic drinks like Coke and tea. For essentially the same price as Cane's you get much better chicken, better fries, comparable quality slaw. And I'm not sure which bread I like better- I forgot to say there is a bun here, buttered, and very nice. But I do like Cane's bread too. Anyway, I would definitely pick this over Cane's, so if you're looking for chicken tenders, this is a very solid option. read more

We visited the East Market and stopped by Just Chicken. The staff was very friendly. There are few seats right front of the counter or you can take your food upstairs. We ordered the tender meal and another tender meal from the kids menu. The regular tender meal came with 4 chicken tenders, slaw, bread, dipping sauce and a drink. The kids meal came with 2 tenders, fries, and the dipping sauce with a drink (any drink of your choice). The tenders tasted great. The tenders were crunchy, yet fluffy and moist and seasoned well. The slaw and the bread tasted great too. The fries were ok, a little salty for my taste, but did taste good with the dipping sauce. The kids meal had the same tenders and fries. If I had to compare this to any other tenders, then I would say it tastes close to Cane's tenders. If you are in East Market, then I definitely recommend you try Just Chicken. Next time I am in the area I want to try their loaded fires, which looks great. read more

The tenders and fries were really good. The fries were being freshly cut and fried to order. I felt like I could've had more chicken for $14.99, it only came with 4 tenders, and they were on the smaller side. The just sauce was very tasty. The ramekin was only half full with the dipping sauce which was only enough for two tenders. I did order an extra dipping sauce, the just hot for $0.75, so I was able to have something for the rest of the chicken, but it would've been nice if the sauces at least filled the full ramekin. read more

Their chicken is amazing and there is even a walk up bar right next to the place. I was reluctant to try just chicken as I have vulnerable glands that dislike copious amounts of sodium. But after my friend Ron got cut off at the bar for trying to smuggle in his own home grown mint to put in a mojito, we were lucky enough to have a taste of this place. Cute little place inside the East Market. Parking is easy and free thankfully! The loaded fries looked too good to pass up and did not disappoint. The chicken was so fresh tasting, and lightly breaded. The sauce was unique with just a touch of spiciness. The portion was large enough to take some home for left overs. It's obviously a take on the Raisin' Cane's model: chicken tenders, fries, cole slaw, bread, sauce. First off, the go-withs: the fries were good, not great, although fries often don't travel well so they might have been excellent if I'd eaten them fresh out of the fryer (I did carryout.) I do like the skin-on, "fair fries" type. The cole slaw was.... fine. I'm not a big fan of traditional cole slaw, so probably not the best judge; there wasn't anything wrong with it, just not very exciting. (I would love it if they went with a vinegar slaw.)The sauces: the "just sauce" was good, very similar to Cane's house sauce, but a bit more zip. The "just hot" was SPECTACULAR. I don't have any idea what goes into it but the flavor is amazing and delivers a nice punch. The chicken was good, again not great. The coating still had a nice crunch when I got it home. The chicken itself was not as tender as I would have hoped for. Cane's (sorry, but the comparison is unavoidable) is practically melt in your mouth; this was well cooked but honestly not anything better than I could make at home (other than that nicely crunchy exterior.) I'll give it another try, this time maybe eating it on the premises rather than carryout. read more
