I had the medium heat fried chicken sandwich and went with mac and cheese plus the mashed potatoes and gravy for my sides. Everything was good. Mashed potatoes needed some salt and pepper and I never add salt to anything, but after that and pouring some gravy on them it was perfect. The heat level on my was great. I went with Medium and may try the Nashville Hot next but that medium was a just right. My partner loves fried chicken and ordered the two-piece meal with a wing and breast, no heat, and enjoyed it as well. No complaints there. Service was the best. The guy that took our order was so personable and friendly and walked us through the options. After we ordered, even brought the food to the table once it was ready. Everything was hot and fresh. Soda machines were down but sure they'll get it fixed soon, and the restrooms were worn and really cold, but none of that was a big deal really. Geechee rice: seasoned, bacon and sausage, very good. And black-eyed pea salad. I like black-eyed peas but had never had them in a salad. These were great: plump, with bits of tomato and cucumber and onion, in a vinegary dressing. Again, yum. Enough food for two meals. They gave me the side plate special, three sides and cornbread, which helped with the price. I was headed home and not thirsty so I didn't get a drink, but based on conversations with other customers I missed out on the lemonade and sweet tea. I've had crunchier KFC but honestly the sauce made up for it. This combo redefines "Happy Meal". I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
