This was our first visit so I was excited to experience their chicken. I found it to be good but didn't win me over as compared to other major fast food chicken chains. I ordered the CHICKEN SANDWICH which I did enjoy. I found the chicken to be covered in a crunchier coasting that some other chains, but it's flavour was a little bland to me. The dipping sauce is very important to me at a chicken chain. I like to dip fries and chicken tenders (if ordered). I was not a fan of the Raising Cane signature Cane sauce. read more

I ordered through the drive-thru, which I mention because the styrofoam containers inevitably make most foods soggy. So, my experience may have been different if it wasn't for that. This was my first time ever having Raising Cane's. The fries were a good portion, but definitely too soggy. The Texas toast is fairly good, I could taste the butter on it; personally, when I'm already eating fried chicken and french fries, I probably don't need another brown carb with it, but I know it's just their "thing." The chicken fingers were decent size and I'm sure they would've been crispier if it wasn't for the styrofoam container. The breading was nice because it was a little heavier than Popeye's in my opinion, but not by much. I liked the Cane Sauce personally, although it was a tad salty. I'm glad I can say I tried it, but I'm not craving it strongly. Drive-thru service was fast, which was a plus. read more

I've eaten at this location numerous times dating back to the mid 2000's and although it's good, I don't get the cult following of it. Some people think it's one of the best restaurants ever! They rave about the sauce as if it's magical. While it's good, I'd rather have more than one choice. With that being said, Guy Fieri and his 20 choices are a bit much, but somewhere in between would be nice. Spicy would be good. The tenders were moist and fresh and good with or without the sauce. I ended up using the sauce more on the fries than the chicken as they could use a bit more help. DIY Drink Refills too which is a plus (take note, Chick Fil A) The Texas toast is 10-stars on its own. I think next time I'm just getting Tenders and Extra Texas Toast and making a kick-ass sandwich. Or just fold the Texas toast around a tender for a Chicken Bread Taco. The staff was super friendly which is always a plus. The plaza it kind of awkwardly designed so be careful if you're zipping in. You know, Cane's used to be much more amazing, but these days, it disappoints a little. When I came in around 9 o'clock in the evening on a Tuesday, there were a few cars in the drive thru lane and a few people going in and out of the restaurant, but no one sitting inside. The girl at the counter couldn't have been more unenthusiastic. She almost didn't take my change even though I verbalized that I was going to give her coins... Maybe I didn't speak loud enough or she was a bit tired from a long day. I'm trying to have a little more grace with people, but it's hard when they don't have a good attitude themselves. Anyway, she took my change. Maybe because another lady who seemed like a supervisor stood behind her. She ended up taking over the cashier to help the other customers. I ordered a combo with 3 tenders, fries, toast, and sweet tea. It was just a bit over $7. The toast and sauce are always fantastic! The chicken was just alright this time and the fries weren't crunchy... But I also drove home before eating it, so maybe they got a little soggy? Not sure, because I've some drive thru before and didn't have this issue. Unless the fries had been sitting out and weren't all that fresh anymore? Anyway, parking was easy since it was late at night. Still, I saw more people waiting in the drive thru for McDonald's next door. Their fries never disappoint. I slightly regretted my decision. Raising Cane's is an awesome place for chicken fingers! Tip: Get a Caniac Club card for random specials and freebies. The interior is very cool with local Ohio décor combined with random retro art and old movie memorabilia. And of course photos of the dog "Raising Cane" who gave his name to this delicious place. They do have a drive thru which seems pretty consistently busy. They have a few different combos to choose from, or you can go a la carte. Try the box combo (four strips) for an average appetite. Go for the "Caniac" (six strips) for a big appetite. They all come with crinkle cut fries, Texas toast, and cole slaw plus the famous Cane's dipping sauce (or switch it for honey mustard). If you don't like the fries or toast you can swap them out for extra of the other. The chicken is so good. Moist inside and delicately crispy outside without a heavy, bready coating. The fries as well are always awesome. Hot and wonderfully fluffy. The toast is good too. Lightly buttery and just perfect. Coca-Cola products are available at the soda fountain (no freestyle machine, though). Staff tend to be very friendly which is another plus. Raising Cane's is highly recommended!! If you're visiting Columbus and/or have never had Cane's before - this is a must. There are a few different locations in Columbus. Stay away from the Gahanna location, though. It's the worst one! I know southerners have Zaxby's, which is slightly similar to Cane's. However - Cane's has Zaxby's beat by far (I have had Zaxby's multiple times by the way). I get the box combo every time and I sub out the cole slaw for an extra toast - I think most people do this! The chicken tenders are perfectly crispy and tender, the fries are seasoned so well, and the bread...oh the bread. SO GOOD. It has a Texas Toast feel, but, better. The service and turnaround time is quick at the campus and Polaris locations ( like I said, stay far far away from the Gahanna location). You order at the counter and they call your name. The sweet tea is a MUST. The sauce for the tenders is out of this world. It's a tangy type sauce and I could seriously drink it lol. I always opt for an extra sauce ($0.37 cents) because I like to use it for my toast and fries! The aesthetic is fun and it's a good casual date night(or day) spot. I will say the campus location is CRAZY busy on game days - so maybe opt for the Polaris location unless you want the buckeye gameday feel. When we were in line one of the defensive tackles for OSU was in front of us with his family! So that was pretty cool. My husband go here often and we absolutely love it. Columbus must loves its chicken. I can understand how Hot Chicken Takeover gets a 5-star rating, but Raising Cane's with a 4.5-star average? Wow! I think Raising Cane's is a great fast food chain. The value is hard to beat. A little over $9 get you the Caniac Combo which comes with 6 chicken fingers, a large fry, coleslaw, Texas toast and a large drink. That's two meals, even for me. The chicken fingers are substantially sized, nicely breaded and tender. However, the white meat chicken fingers are somewhat bland by itself. I find myself using up all the Cane sauce in order to add some flavor. I'm not a huge fan of the sauce, it tastes like a peppered-up Thousand Island dressing. For this reason, i'm only giving Raising Cane's a 3/5. I'm not knocking it because it's a fast food chain (my friend Fed-ex'd a Chik-fil-a sandwich to me once). But I feel that other chicken fast food chains (Zaxby's, Chik-fil-a) have more flavorful chicken and breading. I know I shouldn't compare boneless chicken fingers to bone-in chicken. But i'm definitely missing some intrinsic chicken flavor. The Cane sauce ends up masking that even more. My favorite thing about Raising Cane's is the Texas toast. read more

Our food was ready to go in 5 minutes. It was piping hot! Portions were large and in charge! We each got a Box Combo. Of course, sub the slaw for an extra Texas Toast. The Texas Toast in Columbus is definitely bigger than the Toast in IL. Looks like most locations have the same interior, but this one just has a little more oomph than others if you ask me. We've been to this one before, so I don't know how I haven't already reviewed it. It's handy for us when the campus one has shorter summer hours. Today we happened to be nearby and it was a reliable fast option. Sweetie always gets the Three Finger, I get the Box, and I wonder who came up with those names... There are four chicken tenders in the Box, along with fries and slaw, and that is plenty for me. She usually has leftovers from the Three Finger. The tenders are, well, tender, and crispy on the outside. The fries are crisp and tasty. The slaw isn't bad, though I mainly eat it to be sure I'm ingesting some vegetables. The sauce is addictive, and goes well with the chicken and the fries. The sweet tea is usually good, though this time it was weak. Service is always good. The restaurant is clean, and has plenty of seating options. Prices are reasonable considering the quantity and quality. There is better chicken around, but you don't always have time to search around for it (or wait once you find it,) and there's usually a Cane's nearby. read more

A one-star review? On a Friday night?! Harsh, but true. After a twenty minute wait in the drive thru, something that does occasionally occur on weekend fast food runs, I thought I was out of the woods. But after pulling up to finally get my food, the bag seemed a little light. I asked if this was, in fact, the two meals I had ordered. I was then told I had changed the order to only one meal. I corrected the window employee- nope, ordered two. After conferring with the other staff, he demanded to see my receipt from window 1, showing I had paid for two meals. Upon incredulously showing him the receipt I had received fifteen feet (and ten minutes) earlier, he concluded that I was not trying to rip them off for chicken fingers and was instead trying to get the food I had paid for. I have yet to ever have a bad Canes experience. Maybe I am biased because I'm from their home state of Louisiana and can remember when the first one opened at LSU. It's been my favorite chicken place for many years the menus is simple. It doesn't change - and their quality is always excellent! The food is always hot and fresh - not sitting under a heat lamp or rewarmed. It's not heavily breaded so you actually taste the chicken. My husband and sister love their Cole slaw and I adore their crinkle fries! And although I try not to eat bread I have to have a slice of their Texas toast! It's a must! Probably other places, but I'm glad I discovered Cane's during my time here in Ohio! :) While I do love their chicken fingers, I typically don't like eating them with just the fries.
