We ordered Whole Peruvian Rotisserie Chik'n Big Family Meal - The chicken was OK, the fries too greasy. Maybe we caught them on a bad day.

I really REALLY wanted to this to be much better than it was. The spices on the chicken were fine, but, frankly were not impressive. Maybe we just landed there on an "off" evening. We got a whole bird to go, and maybe it is because of our 15 minute drive home, but when we cut it, it was soggy and unimpressive. It was not bad, just not what we had hoped we would be experiencing. The sauces were very tasty, but couldn't make up for the mediocre flavor of the bird. Looking at the reviews, maybe we need to go back and try a sandwich. read more

Awesome Peruvian chicken place for lunch and almost never seems to be too packed. It's in a strange strip small location, but the food tastes delicious and is always on time. Also, you cannot pass up the cookies...so good. read more

I revisited recently and found some of the kinks had been worked out. The service has improved and the interior made more welcoming. The chicken I had was less dry this time, and I had an overall better experience. The portions are generous and filling. I enjoyed the spices used on the chicken. The sauces are interesting and unique, although seem heavily mayo based which made them a bit rich for my taste. The meals fall into the comfort food category for me. I have ordered from here a few times, so now I feel like I can write a more complete review of this place. They claim to serve Peruvian and American inspired chicken dishes, and they offer a variety of items that cover both areas. I had their rotisserie chicken and it wasn't bad. But the problem is that it wasn't great. The marinade didn't quite flavor the chicken all the way and you get a tender and juicy, tasteless chicken. Reminded me of the many rotisserie chickens you can get almost everywhere. It's better than average, but not so outstanding to make me crave it. Then, a friend recommended I try the fried chicken, and frankly here they shine. Their fried chicken is juicy and delicious and their spicy chicken is well spiced for those of us that want flavors. Another area they shine is in their sides game. There are a few places around that have good chicken and really boring sides, but here their fries are great, their Chaufa rice is decent, and they also offer sweet potato fries for those that are into it. The aji verde sauce really MAKES those yuca fries, and takes the tasty chicken up a notch! Additionally, I got a 1/2 Peruvian rotisserie chicken. We shredded the meat and flavorful skin, and added it to salads -- I couldn't BELIEVE how much food this 1/2 chicken provided -- we got three meals from the portion! This is the chicken of your dreams and our new go to! What is Peruvian chicken - I had no idea so we headed out to Henrietta to give it a try for take out! We asked the manager for some suggestions and he was correct on all accounts! We ordered a rotisserie chicken meal, chicken sandwiches, chicken nuggets and Machu Bowl for our family of 5. Delicious!!!! The chicken is so juicy and the breading has a nice blend of seasoning/spices depending on if you get normal or spicy chicken. The sauce choices are all delicious, the fries are incredible and the cookies have a unique and interesting taste. I didn't try the much discussed Peruvian rotisserie chicken (this time) but I did try the Chick'n Sandwich. I was pleased and impressed to see that the chicken is hand prepared and cooked to order. It took about 5 minutes to, but for a freshly cooked and prepared sandwich that's pretty good. I was a little surprised that it was just the chicken, bun and a couple of pickles; I thought there would be some sauce included but there was none. This is rather a difficult review for me to type. I really wanted to like this place. Based on the online community, and doing some light reading on what Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken is, I really was looking forward to this one. This is a very small restaurant, located inside a plaza. Not much décor, just very plain but clean. I placed in an order for the Half Peruvian Rotisserie Chik'n - Meal. This ran for $14.89. Came with half a rotisserie chicken, Arroz Chaufa Rice, fries and a side of their Aji Verde sauce. First onto the chicken, I found this to be a bit bland. The skin, the meat weren't as flavorful as I thought it would be. The texture was a bit off as well. Some parts were mush, and the breast portion was a bit dry. I truthfully couldn't differentiate the difference between this rotisserie chicken vs. the $6 dollar rotisserie chickens from Wegmans, BJs etc. I've actually found the rotisserie chickens from the supermarket to be more moist, and flavourful. I hate to say it, but I'm just being completely honest. The fries were soggy and a bit greasy. As for the rice, it came below lukewarm, and ended up cold rather quickly. This I also found bland, and nothing more than white rice with carrots and peas. I Googled the rice dish, and it looks great. This was nothing like what I've seen. Perhaps this is their recipe. I did put an order in for their Chik'n Nuggets which I actually rather enjoyed. I found the chicken to be moist and very tasty. Onto the sauce, I found the Aji Verde to be very unique and tasty. As for the honey mustard, buffalo, and barbeque, I wasn't expecting these to be from Ken's/Sweet Baby Rays. Have I would have known, I wouldn't have excitedly ordered these three extra sauces on the side. The way it's shown on the TV monitor, they appear to be in plastic containers which makes one assume they're homemade, they're not. I would like to mention there was a very kind gentleman that worked the front named "Franky/Frankie." He was professional, kind, and the reason I upped this review a star. I'm all for local/hole-in-the-wall/small restaurants, but this one missed the mark for me. I tried just chik'n again through my bf's lunch order and it definitely changed my mind about this place! He got the machu bowl again and wow what a different experience. This is the second time we've picked up food from Just Chik'n and it's quickly becoming one of our go-to spots. The ability to get both American chicken sandwiches and Peruvian fare gives it some variety that's appreciated. The Aji Amarillo sauce is awesome. In terms of classic chicken sandwiches I'd prefer to get it here than Chik-fil-a, the only thing Just Chik'n is lacking is mac and cheese to fully recreate the experience (in a better way) as the Spicy Deluxe with the Aji sauce is great. The Machu Bowl is excellent and a good value for what you get. Service is very good, staff is patient and nice. Hope that keeps up. So far no orders have been messed up. Tucked away in the plaza on Jefferson road that Golden Corral sits in front of is Just Chik'n. This place is small with half a dozen tables. Order to go or sit and eat after you order at the counter. Menu had chicken sandwiches, salads, nuggets, Peruvian chicken, different types of fries & drinks. I got the 1/4 Peruvian chicken with yucca fries & the aji verde sauce. Ordered and extra side of yucca fries & a lemon ice tea. All the food is made to order so it came out nice & hot. I was a little disappointed in the chicken because more than half of my small piece was dry. I was glad I had the delicious sauce but my sauce was half frozen. Sad that the sauce was not fresh. Yucca fries were tasty with a good seasoning but don't get a lot with the 1/4 chicken. It was a little pricey for a side of fries & a drink. That cost over $6 bucks. Great food but the service is just... not great. I've been 4 times now and only the first visit was absolutely perfect. The second visit they gave us the wrong order after waiting about a half hour. When I told them we didn't order any of this, the cashier tried to tell me yeah we did and then asked me: "The name on your order is Kathy right?" ... it was not. After explaining my name was not Kathy... they apologized and gave me my order. I just found it weird that they tried to convince me that this other person's order was actually what I ordered. The third visit they got our order right... but the wait was a little over an hour. Not great considering we came in for a meal already pretty hungry. The fourth visit was another story. They added and charged us for an extra chicken sandwich. And they gave us an extra side of fries. I wouldn't have minded... but the fries are not very good. They are very thickly cut, kind of hard, and very dry. Probably would have been able to avoid this if the cashier read back orders before confirming them. Really delicious. The chicken is tender and moist, the rice and fries look simple but are SO GOOD. I have no idea how they got the fries to taste so good but they are salted perfectly and crispy! No ketchup needed. The rice has a buttery note. Spices on the chicken were just enough, subtle and not overpowering. Emphasis on the moist!! Little to no resistance when chewing! Please note this is real chicken, not a vegetarian substitute. And it takes a few minutes longer than standard fast food.

Both my daughter and I have celiacs disease (gluten free). There menu shows several options for gluten free food. We both decided to ordered the GF wrap. we received our food and after we started eating we decided there is no way this is GF. When I asked the waitress she said it should be....she said everything there is gluten free. I asked to see the packaging and it was a wheat wrap not GF!!!! Now both of us are home on a Friday night sick. The staff does not know what gluten free means. And they didn't have any GF wraps!!! They didn't even know what they were. There was no manager on, they was supposed to call us tonight but never did. read more
