It was just as nice as the pictures. Located on the corner with a stream and single lane bridge next to it, this was a great spot to enjoy a drink and a pastry. The exception is Grounded for Life, which offers delicious breakfast and lunch options that are thoughtfully prepared, delicious, and satisfying. Their extensive, all vegan menu offers breakfast options such as bagel sandwiches, burritos, toasts, and more, and even their coffee is surprisingly good! I have also enjoyed their wraps, bowls, and sandwiches. And they even have burgers and hot dogs, too. GfL is my new spot for takeout (order ahead online to save time!) before heading to the airport. The chunky chicken wrap saved me when my flight back to the West coast (already a long journey) was delayed by several hours and I was starving. The cafe also has a number of yummy desserts displayed in the case that are great to-go. GfL also offers a "Meal Prep" option where you can order food on a weekly or monthly basis. Service is friendly and efficient, but they are sometimes understaffed. Try to be patient and nice, and your tasty food will be out soon enough. The cafe itself is pretty small with just a few tables indoors. The outdoor patio is more expansive, and I recommend enjoying your food and drinks outside if the weather is decent.

Not just because of the gluten-free selection, but because of the quality of the food, locally sourced products, healthy options, and all of the unique and niche things you don't find at a conventional grocery store. I've shopped frequently at both the Clinton and Flemington locations over the years and have consistently had great experiences at both. There are tons of options for gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and plant-based diets, along with a great selection of snacks, specialty products, supplements, fresh foods, and local goods. Within the last couple of years, I also started ordering more frequently from the café, and I can't believe it took me so long! I'm a huge fan of their wraps. They have gluten-free tortillas and bread. They somehow make wraps with relatively simple ingredients taste unbelievably fresh, flavorful, and savory. I've ordered the same wraps at both Clinton and Flemington and they taste practically identical, which says a lot about how consistent the café is between locations. My personal favorite is the Free Bird on a gluten-free tortilla. It's vegan and gluten-free with tofu salad and a savory mustard, and it blew my expectations away. I also love the sauces and dressings they use in the café. I discovered many (if not all) of them are made in-house and are even available bottled to take home. The house-made vegan honey mustard is especially delicious and worth trying. For drinks at the café, I'm a big fan of the Strawberry Fields protein smoothie and the So Kal juice. I've also done their two-day juice cleanse, which includes 12 fresh juices that you can order ahead and pick up. Whether you have specific dietary restrictions, eat vegan or plant-based, prioritize locally sourced and health-conscious foods, or just like discovering interesting products you won't find everywhere else, it's such a fantastic local resource. And with convenient location (right near downtown Clinton) and convenient hours (8 AM to 8 PM every day), it's an easy place to keep coming back to!
