I had a very disappointing experience here because of Jani. When I came in, the shop was busy, but I waited patiently for my turn to order. I noticed that Jani was helping customers one at a time, whether they ordered smoothies or frozen yogurt with toppings. However, when it became my turn, that suddenly changed. After I paid for my smoothie, she did not start making my order and instead began helping several customers behind me in line. I ended up waiting while at least five other customers were served before my order was even started. Eventually, another employee who had been working on ice cream orders became available and helped me instead. I honestly felt singled out and uncomfortable by the situation. I have family that lives in Clinton township and anytime we are in town on Main Street, I can almost guarantee we will end up at Just Chill. They have frozen yogurt as well as regular ice cream. My niece is lactose intolerant and some family members are vegan, so we really appreciate that there are good dairy-free options. I went to Just Chill in Clinton, NJ with my husband and 2 kids earlier today (5/2/26). I thought it was going to be a fun family outing, until a worker started talking to customers about how they were annoying and that she didn't like them. She dropped multiple f bombs, in front of children, which made me very uncomfortable and I will not be coming back. I expect better from a company. My mom and I have been on a mission for a week to find spumoni ice cream. We jumped inside Just Chill moments before the hoards descended upon this cool oasis after standing in the heat waiting for the Rubber Ducky Race to start. They're located close to the bridge near the Red Mill. They offer ice cream, frozen yogurt, gelato and dairy free Dole whip and a Pomegranate dairy free option. You can then request whatever toppings you'd like. Even though I've been living in the area and visiting downtown Clinton regularly for the past 2 years, I've never made it into the shop until today. I had the Dole Whip and it was AMAZING! Maybe it was all in my head (because it was a fraction of the price) but, this Dole Whip tasted better than the one at Disney World! My daughter got the pomegranate option and that was equally refreshing although a little more tart. I didn't notice the interior that much because we were focused on the mission - getting our frozen treats quickly and getting out. However, I did notice that there were just a couple of tables inside and some picnic tables outside for seating. I'm so glad we finally got to check this place out. The hazelnut had a great flavor and it was super creamy. The peanut butter milkshake was also one of the best I've had -- I love a really strong peanut butter flavor and a smooth texture. After having a nice dinner at the Clinton house with another couple, we decided to get sone yogurt at "just chill "in town. I have been there before but my friends have not. My friend got some kind of gelato and I got a frozen yogurt. I paid 18 dollars for both items , pretty hefty. We sat across the street to eat the stuff. My friends, tried the gelato and said it was horrible after taking a couple spoonfuls. I told her to return it and get something else in return, since I paid 8.30 for the gelato. So she did. With the approval of one of the employees there. After sitting across the street to eat our ice cream dishes, a woman jumps out of toward us and asks about our gelato purchase claiming she saw us on closed circuit security camera not paying fir ice cream. We were mortified and quite embarrassed by this accusation. I told her that the gelato sucked and I paid for it and I told my friend to return it for another item. The female owner was pretty rude and unprofessional and unapologetic as a service provider should be in this circumstance. I wondered if she actually called the authorities. Totally Rediculous approach and totally unprofessional . Funny thing is inside the place there are cups of yogurt sitting around that people fill up and change thier minds and leave there. We were pretty mortified by the accusation of stealing. I'm a retired law enforcement person as well. This owner needs training in social skills. I'll never return again. I really like this ice cream parlor. There are a lot of fun interactive elements that my kids love. You get to serve your own frozen yogurt and there are many flavors as well. There are also Sugar-free options so it can customize to everybody as well as dairy free. It also has hard ice cream which is exceptionally good with its Variety of flavors. There are many toppings and ones that I do not find other shops and there's so many different types of sprinkles. The only problem and why I didn't give it a five star, is that it's very expensive. At another place like JJ scoops or Gronsky's milk house, it's a little more affordable. As someone who has worked for Just Chill the past 4+ years, I can tell you that this place will forever hold a strong place in my heart. We are a small, family owned business and have plenty of delicious options, which include frozen yogurt, soft serve ice cream, hard ice cream, milkshakes, homemade gelato... which is by far my favorite (get the dark chocolate), and much more! Thankfully, we were able to survive COVID, although I can't say that it was easy, and my coworkers and myself are constantly cleaning the store to make sure that you and your families are eating in a clean and safe environment. I could not be more thankful to work in an environment where my coworkers are friendly and always put the customers first, even when they encounter some challenges. In response to Bob's recent unfortunate review of our store, I would like to respond by saying that we DO NOT reuse any of our recycled spoons. All of them are cleaned and then put in a recycling bin for proper disposal every week, and others are used by students who like to make creative projects out of them (visit our store to see some of them!). Bob mentioned a "surcharge", which is applicable when a customer pays with a credit card, in an effort to offset the increasing credit card rates that we are paying every month. In response to Bob's criticism of our scales, they work perfectly, and all frozen yogurt is weighed on the scale. The more toppings and yogurt you put in your cup, the more it will weigh. I moved to Clinton a few years back and was amazed at the lack of quality places to go to for food and drink. In happy to repot that this is changing and one of the best additions is Just Chill. I'm a froyo fan. I've been to many a froyo spot and I can say unequivocally that Just Chill is the best of them all. Their flavors are all appealing and change on a regular basis. And their toppings are bountiful and also change on a regular basis. The store is spotless and everyone working there is as friendly as can be. If you are on the bridge and near the Clinton Redhouse, I recommend Just Chill. The ice cream and milkshakes were so rich, smooth, cold, and perfect on a warm summer day. The staff was kind and quickly took our order. I only had to wait seven minutes max for my order so the service was quick. The only downside I could think of this place is the prices were a little high. But I understand the high prices because they price their products by weight. I didn't know they sell acai bowls. So we visited Just Chill last evening for the first time. We ordered the stracciatella gelato. We walked out and tasted it and it was very salty. And it was very expensive ($8.15) for a large that in other establishments is considered a medium. Stracciatella is a creamy gelato with sweetness contrasted by the bitterness of dark chocolate. I walked back in the store and told the one employee that it was not good at all and could I switch to a frozen yogurt. He said he had to ask the other employee. The other employee took it from me and said help yourself to the yogurt. I took some yogurt, didn't fill up the cup and didn't add toppings. We went across the street to sit at some tables. We were there approximately 15-20 min when a woman pulled up and identified herself as the owner who was watching the cameras and witnessed me walking out without paying for the yogurt. I explained what transpired and she was accusatory instead of apologetic. Instead of sitting home and watching cameras maybe she should be helping her employees serve customers instead of making customers wait so long and maybe check the recipe for the Gelato (we were told it was home made) and get that right. We were with friends who go there all the time. No one is going back. Horrible customer service. Maybe the owner should "Just Chill" and work the counter on a Saturday night instead of having their employees trying to service everyone. read more
