While others were winning smaller prizes like PS5s, chairs, and mugs, I was thrilled to have won the grand prize. However, that excitement quickly faded. When the travel agency finally contacted me, they informed me that I would have to spend $3,000 before I could use the $500 voucher. How is that considered a 'grand prize'? These restrictions and guidelines were not disclosed when the command purchased this as a grand prize gift. I've even attached a picture of the hidden stipulations that were never mentioned. This was my first time using a travel agent and I'm never going back! Our experience was amazing. Michelle was incredibly responsive throughout the planning process and she checked in when we got back from our trip as well. I wasn't sure exactly what I wanted when planning a vacation to celebrate my husband's birthday. All I said was that he wanted an overwater bungalow somewhere pretty. Michelle helped us select Moorea and Taha'a as the islands we wanted to visit. Moorea has more excursions and activities which was cool for the first part of our trip. Taha'a was relaxing and beautiful for the second leg of our trip. She set up us on Taha'a vs Bora Bora as it was less expensive and I had a budget. It was the best decision. The resort on Taha'a was phenomenal. They had the best service and food and I'm so pleased Michelle knew where to send us as I had no idea. She arranged transport between the airports and ferries so we were never lost - everywhere we went someone had a sign w/ our name on it! The excursions Michelle selected gave us exactly what we were looking for. We were able to do a local food tour, a half day on a jet ski, half day on an ATV, and then a day snorkeling and dining on locally caught fish at our tour guide's house! Nothing felt touristy - it was all intimate and specific to what we were looking for. A year ago my husband and I decided to cross off an item that had been on our bucket list for 48 years. Travel to Greece! The general destination was easy to choose, however, deciding on the details was overwhelming. So much history, so many islands to choose from. We decided to find a travel agent in the San Diego area. We found "Just Escape Travel". I called and left a message for the agent explaining about our travel wishes. Michelle called back very promptly and asked a few questions. Budget, interests, physical capabilities, after all, we are in our early 70's. After our conversation she put a plan together and asked us to meet with her. The plan she outlined was exciting and better than we could have imagined. Michelle is very thorough and pays careful attention to detail. A payment plan was set, tickets were bought, and hotel and excursion plans were solidified without us having to worry about it. Michelle explained that she has a team she works with in Greece that would be available 24/7. We were provided with detailed daily schedules. Transportation was carefully arranged for all our excursions. We had the best time in each city and island we went to. Athens was full of history! We loved it! We visited 3 other islands, each one a bit different and each island had special treasures. Beautiful boat rides on the amazing blue seas, delicious foods, fun activities, knowledgeable tour guides, all that was planned and executed for us! Everything went off without a hitch. On the 15th day, we were to leave the last island heading back to Athens for the night. Due to weather, our flight was cancelled which started a ripple effect. We were going to miss our flight the next morning back to San Diego. I contacted the team in Greece and they arranged transportation and a place to stay as well as instructions for an alternative route to Athens that would arrive in Athens but not in time for our original plan. Michelle was notified and immediately made new arrangements for us to depart on the scheduled day at a later time. I'm so glad she had advised us to get travel insurance. Upon our return she advised us to contact the insurance company and start a claim. She provided us with all the necessary documentation we would need. Even after all that, she continues to check to make sure our claim is being worked on. If this is not the best kind of service, I don't know what is! We just got back from a two-week anniversary trip in Italy, all planned by Michelle Barth. My husband and I have worked with several travel agents before. We have relatively high standards when we travel & Michelle exceeded all of our expectations, truly making this one of the best trips of our lives.  When we first contacted Michelle to start planning our trip, she took note of all the little details that made our previous travel experiences pleasant. She really spends time getting to know each new client's travel style & personal taste. She understood that one of our favorite hotels in the world was Ritz Paris. She asked for specific details of why we loved Ritz Paris so much, to better understand how we like to travel. We told her it was small details like the monogrammed pillowcases, the general manager was always there to welcome us, & hand-written cards from the concierge reminding us of our dining reservations.  She took note of this & helped us select four different hotels in Italy that matched this level of service. Understanding our travel style, she made wonderful recommendations along that way that fit more inline with the way we like to travel. For example, we told Michelle we originally wanted to book British Airways international first-class, & she made the suggestion that we look into Swiss Airlines since they offer a more superior first-class cabin for relatively the same price. When we originally booked our train tickets connecting us to each city, Michelle studied the train routes and realized that we could be in a newer train with a more modern Executive cabin and made that change to our itinerary. Her expertise in the field and travel suggestions were invaluable in designing this trip.  After selecting our flights & hotels, Michelle helped us curate a list of tours & exclusive experiences in each of the cities. This is where Michelle & her team truly stand out from the rest. She can arrange just about anything from private museum tours after-hours to a truffle hunting tour in the Italian countryside. We decided to do multiple private museum tours, a Brunello Cucinelli headquarters tour, a wine-tasting tour, and a boating day in Lake Como. Of course, when you plan with Michelle, she thinks of all the little details like having a driver ready for you to get to and from the hotel to the tour and back. The tour guides that Michelle partners with are truly the best in the industry- all of them have an extensive background in art history & such in-depth knowledge of the city. On the days leading up to our trip, Michelle sent us an in-depth itinerary, highlighting tour times, dinner reservations (yes, she can book this too!), train tickets, and emergency contacts in Italy. When we arrived to our first hotel, we were completely shocked by all the extra "Michelle" touches! She remembered our initial conversation and had the general manager meet us in the lobby, got us a room upgrade, had our initials monogrammed on the pillows, & had the concierge hand-write reminder notes just like our favorite hotel in Paris! Not only was it at this hotel, but every single hotel for the remainder of our trip! Booking with Michelle is truly a VIP experience every step of the way.  Aside from all the amazing perks that Michelle got us on our trip, the moment we realized that Michelle is invaluable, is when we had a travel delay on our last day. At around 8pm in the evening, a landslide occurred blocking all road access to our hotel in Lake Como. This was going to affect our departure since we had a driver coming to pick us up at 6am the next day to take us to the airport to catch our flight home. At 8pm that evening I sent a text to Michelle's team in Italy to notify them of the landslide & the concerns we had about our early flight in the morning. Within minutes of texting her team, they notified our driver & arranged for a boat to pick us up at the hotel and meet the driver in a town that was not affected by the landslide. All of this was resolved via text within 15 minutes, which let us thoroughly enjoy the last evening of our trip.  Had it not been for Michelle & her team, we would have spent our last night frantically trying to rearrange our travel plans & would have missed our flight home.  We have worked with other travel agents before, but Michelle surpasses them in every way. She is extremely communicative with all of her clients, goes above and beyond to get VIP perks for clients, & even in times of emergencies, proves a total stress-free experience. In addition, Michelle's prices are extremely reasonable. For all of our hotel stays she got us breakfast included, room upgrades, champagne, early check-in, etc all for the same public rate or lower than on hotel websites.  With our flights, she got us a lower rate than on Google Flights, which is hard to beat! The wine tasting at the base of Mount Vesuvius was also everything! Just a really great place the food and the wine was spectacular! The hotel in Sorrento was right on the water, right on the cliffs with a spectacular view of mount Vesuvius, just so great! The tour guides were also very knowledgeable and great, the drivers were always on time or early. The drivers and the guides were very friendly, made us feel at home, recommended restaurants, and answered all of our questions. The trip to Capri got canceled because the weather was really windy and the water was too rough but they let us know well enough ahead of time so that we could adjust our plans accordingly so that was really cool. I contact this travel agent to help me plan a Hawaii vacation. I asked for different options of the different islands and such. I understand that agents needs to make money and kickbacks. The issue I had was the choices she came back with. She gave me choices of only the high end hotels that charges between 500-1000 a night. We are planning a 2 week trip. This would not be feasible with many other choices on all the islands has more reasonable options and I was not given even different budget options for hotels. It seems that some kickback deal is made and with just these hotels. When I brought this up as a concern, the response was "If you cannot go with these hotels, than I cannot assist" This reads to me that if you cannot afford 7000-14000 dollars on just hotel alone, then she wanted nothing to do with it. Its not that if i can afford it or not. Its the fact that most of the days I will be out and about and hotel needs to be comfortable for resting but not luxurious. The extra money can be used for other activities. She did not even try to even ask what my budget was or try to work with me. Its either the small list of hotels on her list or nothing. Suggestion is, work on deals with other mid range budget hotels not just the expensive 1000 dollar a night hotels. No I am not cheap or trying to be a penny pusher but, I am not going to spend 14k on hotel only expenses on a vacation when there is better pricing out there for decent hotels. Update: The agent only sent me 1 reply after I sent her an e mail with why 500-1000 a night hotel just is to much and most hotels we find ranges around 200 a night. She came back with a simple e mail of that due to high demand and such that the hotels she has is 400 or more per night and if i cannot go with that then she cannot assist. She did not try to offer any more info or help so i gave them a 1 star review. Then after this, she tried to call me, e mail me trying to convince me that I could of contacted her to get more info, when It was her job to do that when I was already telling her some of the options did not work for me. Then she is saying she only respects an honest review and such. Not sure what about this review that is dishonest but, everything stated here is what exactly transpired between us. Not sure why she has to write a long long reply as she did along with voice mails and e mails to try to convince this review was un just. We have been back from our Grecian dream vacation for about two weeks now, and have never felt better. My husband is active duty military and advance planning isn't always in our favor. However, when we got our travel dates approved by his chain of command, we had a little less than a month and half before leaving and chose to enlist Travel Escape's Michelle Barth, to make this a reality for us. This wasn't just an ordinary vacation, we were celebrating my husband's 30th birthday, alongside my golden birthday and leading up to our 3rd wedding anniversary celebrations. When my family contacted Michelle Barth at Just Escape Travel about a special, custom trip we wanted to take to Israel, we had already reached out to several travel agencies that either proposed a generic itinerary that we did not want (claiming that what we were asking for was not possible), or inexplicably failed to respond to our inquiries. Michelle picked Nicaragua as an April vacation at a beautiful 4,000 acre resort called Morgan's Rock. We had our own private bungalow, with a plunge pool that overlooked the resort's private beach. The food at the resort was Farm to Table and the menu changed every day. The meals were excellent and the portions were very generous. The cocktails were fantastic as well. The Morgan's Rock bartenders used the freshest juices and the local dark rum was delicious. The people at Morgan's Rock were the best. They were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The excursions offered through Morgan's Rock were very fun and we had a bilingual guide and driver for all of them. My girlfriend and I are planning to visit Nicaragua again in the future after visiting a few different places first. We will absolutely work with Michelle again for future trips. In July, my family took a spectacular 2-week vacation in Southeast Asia and we can't thank Michelle Barth enough for planning our entire trip. We have used Michelle Barth at Just Escape Travel for two trips "Downunder". One for Australia and the other for New Zealand. They were both unbelievably well planned and well thought-out.
