I had previously bought a wig at supposedly a TOP shop in Walnut Creek. I'd never go back there again. I'm such a wimp that didn't just walk out on the way I was being treated. (lesson learned) Now I'm in Sonoma County.....a zero place to find a decent wig shop. I found a wig on line & contacted the brand. The number 1 shop they recommended was Wow Wigs in Walnut Creek. I called Wow Wigs and they assured me they could fulfill my request. So the almost 2 hour car ride was well worth it. Believe me, you will never find a shop that even comes close to this in the Bay Area.....or even Orange County/SoCal.

Years ago, I was quite scared to get a hair transplant. Both her and her staff were quite informative throughout my long decision making process and they did not pressure me at all to do anything. I ended up getting an FUE and it was like magic. All of the before and after pictures on her website are authentic and can show you the results. Many of my friends and relatives commented that I look better and less tired. The pictures of the scabs on patients look painful, but the procedure is not bad because they anesthetize your skull. The only real discomfort that I felt was when they injected me with the anesthesia. That was painful but temporary. I was able to work remotely the next day and I went to a gathering about 10 days after the procedure and no one noticed that I had surgery. The hairs start coming out in about 3-6 months. If you are thinking about doing one, I would highly recommend it. The hair takes about a year to grow in so the sooner the better. The procedure is pretty safe as far as surgeries go and it is worth it if you feel better every day because of it.

They also had an eyebrow threader here. I got my eyebrows threaded ($8) while she was getting her haircut. It was actually less painful than waxing, and lower than what I usually pay($16). If my cousin ends up moving here, I will definitely be looking forward to seeing their eyebrow girl again.

It is uneven all over my head and I have "holes" in my hair where sections were cut out. Both sides of my head are different and I've had a bear of a time trying to work around this so I can go out in public. I saw this happening as she was cutting but Julia assured me it would be fine. She has an unusual way of cutting, which happens with dry, not wet hair. It felt like a razor cut although I didn't think to be alarmed at the time. After leaving I thought I might just need to wash and style it myself, and let my hair settle down-- wrong!! The last couple of months I've used a plethora of products and tools to try and make it better and cover the gaps on my head. The stylist I went to this weekend to fix it gently asked if I knew how bad my haircut was. You know it's bad when people who know you well comment on..... um, your hair. I'm rating this 2 stars because in Julia's defense, she treated me and other people nicely. She is friendly and very talkative. The salon was fine too, a neighborhood place that's not too fancy or pretentious.
