I've been putting off this review. Mostly because my first expereince was so good. But I've had it. Don't get me wrong, the service is always steller here. They go out of their way to make your time here pleasant and relaxing. But six months ago I got my bangs done by a redheaded stylist with braces, and ever since I've been waiting fervently, for them to grow out so I can have them fixed. During the consultation with the stylist I had thought I'd made myself clear about thin, straight across bangs. (I'd had bangs from 1 year old to about 12, always the same exact style, I even brought a picture.) So when they were cut, diagonal, uneven and much thicker than I wanted I turned shocked eyes to the stylist who quickly started trying to fix it and reassure me it would be great did I start to worry. Besides the fact that the way my hair naturally fell (during showers the bangs would mix with the longer hair and I'd have to separate it by hand)... or the way I wore it regularly (she'd specifically told me I had to wear it differently than I normally would) was totally taken out of the equation, I could work with it with hairspray. But 2 months in I started to really wish bad things upon her when not only did the cut become totally unmanageable because of the length differential (one end is thicker and longer than the other side [the usual with diagonal cuts])) but because the bangs were so thick (they practically took over my face) and have no straight line, they constantly mix with my other hair and make me look scruffy. It's also incredibly hard to pin back. There are so many things I despise about this haircut I cannot even tell you. I've just been patiently waiting till it grows out enough to I can go to someone else and have the thin neat straight across bangs I wanted. But it's been more than six months and it just gets more unmanageable by the day. Sorry guys. After 6 months of annoyance, you won't be getting my business again. read more

I was able to make an appointment for the day after I called with Carly, a fairly new specialist at the salon. I came in on a Friday morning in desperate need of losing half, if not all, of my hair. Years of cheap haircuts, home haircuts (kitchen shears over the bathroom sink situations), and chlorine damage had relegated me to the librarian bun during the workweek. I've had salon phobia for my entire life, so going somewhere decent was a leap of faith for me. I only have soft curls in my hair, but for whatever reason every stylist I go to gives me a half-baked sideways trim. Carly was amazing - she brushed my once-curly, now-frizzy hair out dry and did a rough snip of where she wanted to cut after I gave her general guidance of what I was hoping for. An hour of washing, conditioning, trimming, drying, and styling later, and I walked out feeling 10 pounds lighter and a whole lot better about myself - the consistent stream of compliments I've been getting don't hurt, either!
