I was looking for an Aveda salon and heard good things about this one, so I decided to try them. Making the appointment online was easy after sending a message via Facebook messenger. The appointment itself was quick and easy. I was there on a busy Saturday, and everyone was friendly enough. I chatted a bit with the hairdresser and the person who did my shampoo. Both were very friendly. I'm still looking for a salon where I will leave feeling "wowed," and I don't think this was it, but they were nice enough and have a steady following, so I wouldn't hesitate to try them again. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I just left the salon in tears after the worst haircut of my life. Before I even sat down I showed Marcia where I wanted my hair to be cut. She reiterated "just below your shoulders?" I said yes. Acer getting my hair washed, I sat down and said "please just not too short." I asked for my hair to be cut just below my shoulders and what I got was a bob. Marcia cut 5+ inches more than I asked. My hair does not even reach my shoulders and to make it worse, the cut is insanely uneven. Women know that their hair is a large part of their confidence and identity and Marcia completely disregarded that. She did as she wished to my hair. I left the salon in tears and will absolutely never return. What a horrible experience. read more

I have been seeing Colleen who presently works at this salon for over 10 years. She is absolutely amazing. She listens, is attentive, offers creative suggestions and is a pleasure to chat with. She does exceptional work and you can tell she really knows what looks good and she gives really great styling advice but doesn't push products. I also really like that if I don't get a haircut for a year and a half- she doesn't take offense. She's a fabulous stylist and I highly recommend her. The salon itself is nice, very clean and the staff all seem very kind and efficient. It's funny, I lived around the corner from that place for 20 years and never heard of it until Colleen started there. So glad I have a stylist I can trust! Even if I now have to drive down from NH to get my hair done. It's worth it! Reasonable pricing too! read more

I have been going to this salon since I was a kid. They've always been warm and hospitable to me. I would consider the salon on the high end of the spectrum in terms of quality! They definitely pamper you there which is great it's like going to a spa -it's very relaxing! They also use aveda products and all the products they use are Vegan. It's really cool to see a business take concern in their Enviromental impact. I've also seen them raise money for other environmental causes like cleaning the Hudson River. I'm always impressed in the standard of care given by the salon over the years. read more

I was excited to try this salon, having just moved to the area, and after reading the great reviews. I was given an appointment next day in a time slot that worked well for me. The salon was busy, and I figured this was also a good sign. I got a nice shampoo treatment done, but I think my stylist did a horrible job with the cut. I asked to have a trim and said that the cut needed to be easy to maintain. I agreed to the suggestion of a long-layered look, because I like to trust a stylist's experience to offer up good advice, and figure they can deliver on a cut they suggest. Unfortunately I couldn't see what the stylist was doing because I had to take my glasses off, but she took only 10 minutes to cut my hair. She never put sections of it up in a clip while cutting it, and she just lifted up chunks and cut. It took another 10 minutes to blow dry, and there was no shaping done, no modifying or putting last touches on it. When I went to pay for the cut, I was charged the rate for a senior stylist. I was in and out of the salon within 30 minutes. I didn't want to take immediate judgement on the haircut, but when I got home my husband looked at me and I knew I did not look right! I didn't contact the salon back because I didn't trust the stylist to fix the cut. My hair was completely uneven, with layers that left me looking like I had a mullet in back, and uneven layers bewteen the left and right sides. I will never return to this salon. read more

Excellent service. Friendly Staff. I had my first cut and blow dry there today and I was delighted with the results. Will be going back for sure. I wear a short modern style and my stylist had no trouble bringing my ideas to life. She did a fantastic job of blending the layers and I am confident that this look will be beautiful for the next 6 weeks or more. So conveniently located and just the right friendly atmosphere. I was worried they would be pushing a ton of products - I have been to other Aveda salons that kept pushing me to buy buy buy. But there were no pushy sales pitches at all. I have been going to Marcia for years to cut and color my hair. She does a wonderful job. It's rare to find someone that can cut my oversized bangs well, the way I like to wear them. She does an excellent job highlighting my hair too, so it's very natural looking and blends in well, that you can't even tell it's a foil job-when my roots grow in it's barely noticeable. I have been going to Dee at Just Imagine U for many years simply because she always gives me a beautiful haircut and natural looking highlights. I always receive many compliments from friends and family after getting my hair done by Dee. The haircut is so good that even when I blow dry my own hair it comes out nice, never as good as when I leave the salon but that's a tall order. My daughter also gets her haircut by Dee. In fact, she waits to get her haircut until she is home from school because she does not want anyone else cutting her hair. I like that the Aveda products are environmentally friendly and love the way that they smell. The staff is friendly and the salon is comfortable and relaxing. I am so happy to have this salon in my neighborhood and would highly recommend it and Dee to others. read more

Well, they greeted my kid, who was getting the haircut, but they never even made eye contact with me. Felt totally unwelcomed--how do they think a 15 year old gets to a saloon and do they really think that she pays? $50.00 for a haircut that was ok, not extraordinary. I am so happy that I found Dee at Just Imagine U! After relocating to Westchester from NYC, I wanted to find a local hair salon that met the standard I had come to expect in Manhattan. I was so thrilled to find Dee, who does a beautiful job with my hair each and every time. She has done hair cuts and up dos for me. I am always happy with the sophisticated style and receive tons of compliments. Prices are VERY reasonable. While the salon itself is not trendy in appearance, the stylists are top-notch and the entire staff is warm and friendly. They create fabulous, modern looks. The Aveda products are great for my hair. She takes time to look at my hair each time to discuss what we want to do. If I want something a bit different, she does it exactly like I ask.
