My only negative is almost $600 for two fans to be installed where a light fixture already is (that did have a fan box in ceiling) seems pretty pricey. I have been trying to get some of the defects of my old house fixed up. I had three electrical problems I needed to get fixed. 1). I had a panel of switches with one circuit to some yard lights I wanted to disable. I had hired a handyman to fix that but it still needed more work, and I figured it's the kind of thing you should actually hire an electrician for. 2). I had an ugly Casablanka light and fan in my bedroom that you could only switch from the pull string. I wanted to put in a new light and add a switch next to the door to control it. 3). One of my LED ceiling lights in the kitchen was conked out, and I wanted to replace it. I decided to replace the whole set with a more daylight color of light. I looked at reviews of local electricians. Several looked like they would be excellent, and Just-in-Time seemed like they might be the best. So I hired them to fix those three problems. They were available to do the work within a few days, and the price seemed extremely reasonable. They did the work, and I was extremely happy with how it all turned out. Then a couple days later I discovered that a light in the bedroom closet next to the new light switch was not working. I called them about that and they scheduled to come by the next day, and came on the early side of the time window they had given, which I was very happy about so I still had time for my workout later in the day. They checked the light, and found that it has a pull chain on it that I was not aware of (the chain is broken and you can barely see it). They pulled the chain and the light went on. I don't know how it got to the off position. They didn't charge for this service call. For me one of the key takeaways is that when you have an older house like mine (1950s), it is very beneficial to have electrical work done by people who have a lot of experience with old houses. And these guys definitely do. I am extremely happy with Just-In-Time and plan to use them if and when I need electrical work in the future. There are probably some other electricians in the area that are comparable, but I doubt there are any that are better. read more

I'm extremely impressed with Just-In-Time Electrical. I needed to get a new GFI installed in my panel and new electrical outlets by the toilets in two downstairs bathrooms, so I used Yelp to get estimates from several electricians. Just-In-Time was far and away the most professional. Others gave me unreasonably and unbelievably low prices without even coming to see the job site, others were very dismissive and said, "Look at my web site" when I asked if their quote included permits, etc. Just-In-Time's web site can be used to schedule a free on-site assessment, and I used this to have Randy come out to do the assessment and provide an estimate. This was VERY easy, and Randy came out right on time, put on shoe covers as he entered my house, and was extremely professional and friendly. He sent me a quote a few hours after the assessment, and it meticulously detailed everything that would be done, including the fees for the permits (HOORAY!). The fees were more than reasonable, and I accepted the proposal (again, super easy and done on their web site). The very next day, Just-In-Time called to schedule the work, which was less than a week later. A crew of three arrived right on time and completed the work in approximately 3 1/2 hours. Overall, they did an outstanding job: *Left almost no mess (clearly, they cleaned up as they worked, and for the amount of dust that must have been created, they did a better clean-up job than most construction cleaning crews do) *Installed the requested outlets perfectly square *Installed the new breaker in my panel without needing to switch off my power *Ran the new conduit (garage) in as inconspicuous a location as possible, and what is visible exudes outstanding workmanship (proper clamps, screws, fixtures, everything is square and level) *Explained everything they did afterwards *Didn't cut any corners or rush to get things done *Wore masks the entire time *Demonstrated a huge level of attention to detail, all the way down to ensuring that the faceplate cover screw slot is exactly perpendicular to the floor (and parallel with the wall corners) Was it perfect? Not quite, but it was as perfect as I've ever experienced from any contractor. What could have gone better? *The installed outlets are slightly different: one appears to be "childproof" (plastic inserts to prevent anything other than an electrical plug from being inserted), and the other is not. Both of them are extremely difficult to plug anything into. *They left their credit card processing machine at my house, and I had to call to let them know so they could come back and retrieve it. *A small hole was drilled through the floor in one of the bathrooms to place a temporary locator rod. I now have to patch this hole. This isn't a huge deal, but I would have much rather have been told about this ahead of time, or if they told me about it after they did it. I heard drilling through wood (instead of drywall) coming from the bathroom, so I went in and asked about it. The electrician was very friendly and professional in his explanation. *Both of the toilets were scuffed slightly somehow, but the scuffs were able to be removed with a bit of scrubbing. With this said, their standard "damage" disclaimer warns that these sorts of things can happen. I've already scheduled another assessment to get a ceiling fan fixture installed. If you need any electrical work done, I strongly recommend Just-In-Time! Please look at the pictures of they work they did on my site, and note the lack of dust and debris, and how perfectly everything is lined up, etc. I'm really looking forward to having them do my ceiling fan fixture work! read more

While mounting a TV to my wall I accidentally hit a power line that was run through a stud. Now I know that they sometimes do that at about 3 feet off the floor! I called and they were able to come the next day between 1 and 3. On the day they were scheduled they called at about 9:45 AM and said they now had time in the morning. That worked better for me and they showed up at about 10:30. They quickly found where I had messed up and were able to formulate a plan to fix it. Luckily I had a crawl space they accessed to replace the wires and add junction boxes. It was all done in about 20 minutes and worked perfectly. Wow...what a great electrical company. I love that a human being answers the phone and takes the time to give you guidance on your project. I first spoke with Marcus and described my immediate need to remove the electrical outlet from our hideous jetted bathtub and also change out all the light switches. Marcus gave us a ballpark estimate on the phone and....be still my heart....scheduled us for the next day! Other companies said they were booked until September (translation: "we aren't interested in your little gig") or they never returned our calls, which is getting to be an all too common and ugly practice. The wonderful Michael arrived on time, masked up, and got right to work. Of the three companies I contacted, they were the only one to send someone out to look at the job in person; the other companies relied on photos of my garage and electrical panel. Good experience with this team. They send two people out, and work quickly and efficiently. The team arrived at 8 AM as promised, and set to work immediately. They replaced 2 ceiling fans, removed an old bit of track lighting. Also corrected the wiring on some electrical outlets. There was one small communication issue, where I asked for something to be "capped" when I scheduled the appointment. The electrician took it as putting wire nuts on the wires, and I wanted a cover. Both reasonable ways to interpret "capped". When I mentioned I wanted a cover, the electrician got a cover from the truck and installed it. Very pleasant, no defensiveness (which I see a lot from some workpeople), just took care of it so I got what I wanted. Will definitely use again. read more

We had two rooms where the outlets quit working. We saw the good feedback on here and thought we would give them a call. Damn what a huge mistake that was. They had zero clue how to solve the problem. We assumed that this would be a reasonably quick fix for a professional. They checked outlets, switches, breaker panel (which I had previously done). Then they walked around with a wand an tone and tried to locate a break without success. Then they continued to do the same things over and over. Big surprise, same results. They would have been here an hour if they just ran through things one time. So after 2.5 hours and $550 they said we are outta here. "Perhaps you could have one of our guys give you a free estimate to run a new line" i said running a new line would be less than the $550 you just charged me for nothing. A properly run business would have said we failed to deliver and we will be charging you the call out fee only. What a joke these guys are. They had the invoice already pre done at $184.45 as they expected to be in and out. Which would have been fair if they delivered. However they had zero clue and failed to deliver, yet felt compelled to be paid for their incompetence. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

It is my pleasure to recommend Just-In-Time Electrical (JITE)! Yeah, they do all the things right (i.e. follow code, obtain permits, provide a safe environment, etc.), as you would expect an electrical contractor to do. What sets them apart is their follow-up and diligence to make sure a job is done correctly! We had 20 recessed lights installed. They looked great! After 2 months, our master bedroom lights began to flicker. Mark did a phenomenal job (happily) coordinating the JITE team to return and fix the problems. Unfortunately, it took two more trips to fix the problem. They were incredibly responsive and professional! I never got the sense that returning to fix the lights was an inconvenience.
