I honestly wouldn't even give this a 1 star. Had my boyfriend go in to get his hair cut today and he had an older man cut his hair and asked for a low taper fade. He ended up getting what looked like a grown in fade. ON TOP OF THAT, the man cut my boyfriend's neck and face 7 FUCKING TIMES. God knows if anything was cleaned before too which is a health violation. He also rushed through his haircut and was AGRESSIVLY SHAVING HIS FACE. ON TOP OF THAT, HE CHARGED $50. My boyfriend has came here 2 times before and they did alright he only got lineups. I recommend another place. read more

Ever since my old barber left this shop, it hasn't been the same.. But it was an emergency. The general vibe of the store was kinda mundane and couple of the workers were rude. I went in for a medium fade and the barber gave me an okay cut..it just wasn't what i wanted. My father (a barber) always said "a good barber asks questions". The one cutting my hair at Just In Time...didn't do that. No questions, just a lot of talking.. It would have been nice to hear "do you want your goatee round or square?", "do you want to fade the beard in?", "where do you want your fade to start?", "is it okay if i use this shaver?" instead of just using it and then i breakout in hair bumps on my neck..And then charge me $10 more than the barber i used to go to there.. I digress. I can only speak for the barber I had. Out of respect, I won't name him but if you come here, just be VERY specific to the T or else they might just do whatever they want with you hair. read more

I just left the shop and when I got home I got a chance to really look at my hair and am extremely dissatisfied with the service. My hair is uneven and showcases a bald line separating my top half from my fade. I tried calling back twice and got hung up on. I am currently on my way to another shop so they can fix the issue. Wasnt too impressed with the person who cut my hair. He definitely messed up my front line up. I found them in yelp and it looked like a good spot to try out, but unfortunately the person who cut my hair didnt do a great job. I'm not too sure if I'll be back to see how the other barbers cut hair. For an adult it cost $25 and wasnt worth it for me. I know of a better spot that's cheaper and give better cuts. I did like the fact that he washed my hair mid cut but didnt really see the purpose of it. I would have at least waited till the end to wash the hair if your going to do it so people can leave with no excess hair on them. What's good here: Barbers were pretty friendly Quick haircuts Sometimes they'll add an extra wash or high fiber for free However, the quality of the cuts were ok at best. With my last cut, Joe Sr. butchered my hairline, gave me a sloppy taper, and forgot to sanitize my hairline when finishing. A few years ago, I came in for a line up. They Sweeney Todded me and my entire hairline was purple the next day. I had to use ointment and aloe vera for several days. Some parts scabbed up. The other month I was in great need of a haircut. I had an important event the next morning. I walked into the shop 30 minutes before closing. Two barbers were there. One was occupied with a cut. The other barber was just sitting there. After 10 minutes of waiting, I overheard both of the barbers debating about who was going to cut my hair. They both decided that they couldn't and they ignored me. No one officially told me. They simply locked up after the last customer and told me that they're closed. Honestly, I've never been to this shop but I won't. I was stalked by one of the stylists at a recent farmer's market outing. The sista couldn't quite understand my multicolored hair and rather than approach me and try to get to know me as a potential client (and as someone who could increase her client base), she promptly stared at me up and down and handed me her business card. A few things: 1. Did she also approach the white girl with the multicolored hair or was I the special one? 2. Instead of focusing on the different colors in my hair, if she was a true "stylist" like she proclaimed, she would've seen my hair, in its natural state, is very healthy and I take very good care of it. 3. I know this chick with a face greasier than Jermaine Jackson's, edges more busted than Iggy Azalea's face, and hair drier than Mary J. Blige's vocals was really giving me the side-eye. THIS IS THE SPOT!! I come here for just conversation some times. The barbers here are chosen wisely by the owners, who are brothers that are amazing people/barbers. The barbers are great, fun, funny, smart, and wise young men. Sports is always a major topic of conversation here, so you can see why most men would love this place so much. But if you're not in to sports, these guys are intellectual so feel free to bring up any topic. Now on to the quality of work here, one name: JOEY! This guy, who I believe is the son of the owners, is VERY TALENTED with a razor or clippers. He can do whatever you ask him to do on your hair and he will perfect it. Dont get me wrong, the other Barbers are great also. I recommend this place for ALL MALES!! Babies, kids, teens, adults, elders.. Ladies: I can't say too much about the work they do here, but I will say this.. A BUNCH OF WOMEN come here to get their hair done. I have always enjoyed the Barber shop. It is true what they say in the movie that a fresh new hair cut can completely change a person. When I first walked in I noticed that I was the only white customer. Not a bad thing and no one made me uncomfortable by any means. I am bald so my hair cut is not really a cut, but a simple shave. It is fairly easy. The first person I went to was Torrance. He was pretty cool to chat with and took his time and he even tried to even out all the lines, which was a nice gesture and tried to get the back where the stray hairs sometimes go. I have also got a trim from Dwight and Charles. There is usually a seat available. Most of the barbers are personable and professional. They do make you feel welcome and some will offer you their card for side business which may save you a little money. Overall, I have been very impressed. The price is what it is and $20.00, though a little high priced for a simple buzz trim in essence is a little pricy, the quality of product that comes out matches the price. I probably will be heading back their within the next month. read more

I walked in about midday on a Saturday and was immediately greeted and placed in a chair. Upon walking in, the barber introduced himself and got to work. I was in and out in about 20 minutes. I've been coming here on and off for about 5 years. I usually get my hair done by Torrance (always throws down) or Joe Sr, recently Gabriel too. I've never had a bad cut. You can't go wrong with the first 3 or 4 chairs. Ignore the hours on this page as I steadily come in after 6pm and never get refused. You may not get seated right away especially on a weekend or Friday night, be patient and you'll be good. It seems like they mostly do guys, but every once in a while there's a few ladies in here doing women, I'd assume by appointment only. Ok so Friday my uncle which is 73 years old with a few health issues decided to take his great grandson which is 3 years old to get a haircut which he normally does actually the both of them get haircuts every weekend, two weeks whatever.. My dad has been going to this establishment over 20 years. FRIDAY my nephew decide he doesn't want a haircut so he started crying.. This BITCH which is a employee at the shop had the NERVE to tell my 3 year old great nephew to "SHUT THE FUCK UP" my dad which is a very quiet, well known prestigious guy that does not do HOOD / GHETTO by no means asked the BITCH not to talk to his great grandson like that.. This BITCH had the NERVE to tell MY DAD TO "SHUT THE FUCK UP TO " then the BITCH told my dad to meet her outside so she can "WHOOP HIS ASS" ?????? THE WORST PART IS THE EMPLOYEES STARTED LAUGHING AND THE OWNER OF THE SHOP ALLOWED HER TO DISRESPECT MY FAMILY WITHOUT SAYING A DAM WORD ..It's funny how people think they can disrespect someone not knowing who the family members are... Yeah, I'm still pissed off at the employee, but I am beyond pissed at CHUCK WALKER How could YOU allow this to happen? How dare YOU let my Dad who has frequented your establishment over 20 years be disrespected in this manner? How dare YOU let your employees talk to kids this way! Please know your failure to do anything in this situation is a reflection on YOU. No my Dad and Aiden WILL NOT return to Just In Time, but I am PISSED that Chuck Walker and you all should know. I don't do many reviews so please understand I only took the time to do so because I feel so strongly about what I'm about to write below. I've visited this barbershop 3 times and my visit on April 29 was the last. Before I get ahead of myself understand that I have a regular barber. The reason I've visited this shop is only due to the fact my barber works by appointments and he's about 45 min away via metro for me. So visiting the local shop I thought would be ok. My first visit was around August 2013. I went in for a cut and asked how much I'd pay. The fee was $20- a pretty standard rate and all I had in my pocket. I was pretty impressed with the speed it took him to finish but when he put the mirror in my hand to check myself out, I realized he hadn't touched my mustache or beard. I ask if he can clean me up and he went on to tell me to shave my beard and line my mustache it'd be an additional $12! I almost laughed and said "Really? Well I'll pass." I left wondering who in their right mind would pay $12 for a simple shave. Not a hot towel, straight razor shave, just clippers. I left partly satisfied. The second time I went I needed another cut. This one was worse than the first especially considering I gave specific instructions to not to take my hairline back to the corner. He basically did what he wanted and took no time to work with my delicate hairline but instead pushed my line back like I had asked him not to! That was a wasted $20 bucks. I had to wait 2 weeks for my line to get to a point where my barber could make it acceptable to me. The last visit I made to the shop was a decision made after a lot of thought. I wear a goatee and I wanted to have it shaped up. In my mind I'd forgotten about the $12 fee. Proof of this is I went in with $10 expecting to pay $7-$10. When I got there I told the guy I needed a shave and I have $10 bucks. Next, since I know he didn't correctly follow instructions before I showed him an image on my phone of a pic of how I'd like my goatee to be. He quickly looked at it and proceeded to lean me back in the chair and get started. From the beginning I knew I should have stayed home. So he finally hands me the mirror and everything's screwed up. First I asked for a thin mustache and goatee with my beard to remain, just trimmed down (as the image showed). He had my entire goatee 3 times wider than I like. Not only that, he shaved off my beard and in its place was this retarded looking strip of hair connected to the rest of my goatee. I'm pissed but I try to stay cool and get him to at least correct his failure of a first draft shape up. Oh I forgot to mention as he was shaving the sides of my face He rubbed the clippers so hard against my face while attempting to get the shave close he damn near cut my skin. Since he didn't have the proper tools to get my shave close he just used the liner clippers and pressed them onto my face with so much force, most people would have stopped him simply due to the pain. And of course his after shave solution was a bunch of rubbing alcohol dumped onto a random towel and pressed on my face! Not only did it burn like crazy, it dried my skin the hell out! So after two attempts thinning out my goat tee he got the width right. He proceeds to tell me that he usually charges $12 for a shave. After that I kinda just looked at him and proceeded to leave w my jacked up shave. I ended up shaving up everything of at home by the way. So I wasted $10 and irritated my skin for nothing! Don't ever waste your time at this barbershop. Their prices are insane- $20 for a cut plus $12 for a shave for a grand total of $32 for a normal haircut that cost 20-25 max anywhere else. The barber I went to doesn't listen nor can he cut effectively. He's a cookie cutter barber. This place is a joke and a rip off! I'd go to supercuts before I went back to this place! read more

I drove all the way from San Pedro to Pasadena to get a full head weave by Fatima a hairstylist working in this barbershop. I follow her because I know I'm going to get a quality weave She did a amazing job and hooked my hair up. She was very professional and gave me the perfect bob haircut. I like that she took time out to give me tips on how to maintain my hair under the weave and used another technique besides using braiding hair for the foundation for my weave . (Which eats at the scalp) another tip Fatima gave me... I would recommend Fatima for hair services. Btw she gives amazing shampoos. Charles the owner was very helpful to. He stayed open late so Fatima could finish my hair and then my car wouldn't start so he stayed with me until AAA came. He's a true gentleman... Overall great service the place needs a makeover but if you want good services this is the place to go!!! read more
