Honestly this place was great. I have been eyeing it for a while now, but today I finally tried it out. The jerk chicken was so tender and flavorful, and the sides were just as well cooked. Great price for the amount and quality of food given here. I will be back soon to try some other sides and the ox tail. This was the only spot in the food hall with a constant line, and now I see why. The chicken could've been spicer but overall meal was 9.4/10.

What a great place! Decided to try it out at the spur of the moment and I'm glad we did! The guy working there was super patient at explaining everything and was very friendly. The jerk chicken was the absolute best the meat just melts off and the taste was nothing I've ever tried before. Amazing place and would love to come back and try the ox tail

This is a new favorite lunch spot. I love Jamaican food, and unfortunately, there are not many options in Denver for when the cravings come. So how excited was I when I learned Just Kool, which used to be a food truck in Aurora, now has a brick-and-mortar spot in Denver! They're a Black/family-run business located in a food hall that has some other great options available, including Sonder for coffee. Great space for a casual lunch and large groups with plenty of seating inside and outside. I met the husband and he was nice as he answered my questions about the menu. I was impressed with the quality of the food here. Fresh, comforting, flavorful. I couldn't decide which I liked better, the curry chicken or the jerk chicken. Both are beautifully cooked, tender, and perfectly seasoned, not too salty or heavy. The rice and beans aren't mushy! The plantains and corn on the cob are scrumptious. And the beef patty is not too doughy or too rich. They have an assortment of Jamaican drinks that i can't wait to try--I had the sorrel ginger drink recently and it was tasty and refreshing. Parking-wise, there's a lot in the back and parking along the street.

The pork is incredibly tender. Phenomenal... This was the small.. the big... whoa. Parking in the side of the road. Cute table and chairs set up under a tree. Jamaican music on the speaker I'm pretty sure he faked his Jamaican accent The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5... I wanted a little more flavor/spice. I'm very happy and will make this on the rotation.

The food wasn't bad. Could have been more flavorful. The person taking our order could have at least spoke.

Parking: easy, in a lot with many spaces. Food: Empanadas - shell was crispy and well-cooked. The shredded chicken filling was good, nothing special but still tasty. Would try a different filling next time. Overall rating 3/5. Cuban sandwich - the bread was thicker and more "sub"-like than many cubanos I have had in the past. Also had garlic cloves in it which was a nice surprise (I love garlic). Came with rice and beans. Pretty good, would get again. Overall rating 4/5. Ropa vieja - comes with beans and rice. Quite salty on its own, but balances out nicely when eaten with rice. Would get again. Overall rating 4/5. Guava & cheese empanada dessert - same size as the appetizer empanada. Delicious! The cream cheese goes very well with the guava and is well-balanced. Would get again. Overall rating 5/5.

It didn't feel like an old soul food cafe at all, but a lot more modern/industrial chic(?). We didn't set a reservation so we had to wait (about 15 minutes, not too bad) but the odd thing is, I don't really know why we had to wait. There were empty tables when we came in, when we got seated, and when we left. Waiter was nice enough, everyone was very nice. Food and drink? Sandwiches were all affordably priced, drink was not so much. We got a coke and a glass of Kool aid, $4 apiece, and no refill. A single glass of Kool aid for $4? 2-quarts doesn't cost a dollar to make! The fish sandwich was good. The fries were good, and my kid loves the Mac and cheese. I had high hopes for my chicken sandwich because I could tell they breaded it, and it wasn't something out of the freezer. Kudos. Problem was, it wasn't a whole breast. It was thin sliced then breaded. Half the size of what I could get at Popeyes for $5. If I'm going to a diner (which it was last time I was here) I want Mom's cooking. Not $4 for Kool aid and $8 for half a chicken sandwich, fries cost extra. Okay, but I don't need to rush back.

It's nice to get to experience diverse restaurants in Denver. Although this was Cuban food, there was a lot of other Latin inspirations on the menu as well. I got the old Cuban with less simple syrup. At first I thought it was too citrusy as I don't like sweet/sour drinks but after the first sip the prosecco and orange bitters paired so well together and it was refreshing. I also got the steak sandwich with chimichurri on the side. The shoestring fries are fun. It's all on the pricey end but it was a lot of food leftover so it's worth the price!

I enjoyed a dinner here a few weeks ago and I still think about it. The menu is no fuss, to the ignorant it may be confusing but if you go in with a curious heart, ready to ask the staff questions, you're in for a treat. Based on our servers recommendation, I got the Puerco Frito, and WOW. Every bite was light and flavorful. I've been told that you really can't go wrong with any of the menu items, and based on what I tried, I have to agree with that sentiment. If you are lucky, they'll seat you in this massive room with one wall that's just windows, which makes for an even more relaxing dining experience. Give this place a try!
