Was at the store two weeks ago and was interested in a wardrobe and was told they were in the process of getting approval to sell and took down my information to call me to come back and purchase when ready. Never received a call and when I called to follow up today they told me that one of their own employees ended up purchasing it. Absolutely do not care about their customers or customer satisfaction. Under the previous ownership, Just Like the Model was an amazing consignment shop. There was always something special to be found, Peggy (the founder) was kind and reasonable, the staff worked with you to find pieces, and the prices always kept you coming back to check if you'd missed something. Today, the new owners have done an incredible job at filling a warehouse with junk. There's no point of view, hardly anything special, and the atmosphere feels like a furniture graveyard. If you're willing to search through the hundreds of rows of garbage items- you might find something average- but that really applies to any consignment shop. On top of all of these tragic changes, it seems they don't want to get rid of any of the junk either!!! The staff isn't left to make decisions on their own and are constantly reporting back to the owners wife, who has a very fascistic way about her. I honestly feel bad for the employees working under her. Feels like a going out of business sale in the near future, maybe they'll figure things out then. read more

If you sign up for emails, they will have sales, e.g. extra 40% off dining tables. I have found really high-end brands for a fraction of the manufacturer's price! We love it here! We drive to here all the way from Alhambra. At first I refused to go because it was too far to drive to buy used or second hand furnitures. You have to come here right when they open the door so you don't miss the things you are looking for.... Soon as you like something you have to call someone to leave your name otherwise it will be taken by other customers.... I think you have 1 hour to decide if you want to item. We bought some many great furnitures here for about 50% to 75% less than original prices... Night stand originally from West Elm was $750 but we got it for $199 in perfect condition. If have to be quick.... Think about what you want before you get there and go to it right away. They have different updated products everyday. Wednesday is senior day and you get extra 10% off. I have been a customer of JLTM for over 10 years. I have purchased many pieces of furniture, artwork, and accessorites here. You cannot beat the prices for their quality, unique, and high end items. Sure, you can buy cheap mass produced junk from Target or Home Goods, but the treasures to be found here really make your home feel special. And I love that items I've purchased here can't be found anywhere else. No one wants the Hobby Lobby look. Blah. I happened to check yelp for their holiday hours, and was astounded by the negative reviews, compelling me to leave a review now. It is a warehouse, so it can be a little dusty, and the their items are not always pristine (it is used model home furniture!), so come prepared with a good attitude. I have been shopping here for a while. However, recently I have noticed a dramatic increase on the prices. If you have a way to find out who makes a certain product then you will notice the products here are being sold for either original price if not just a little less than it's original price. In the last 3 months I have come across products marked higher than what the original manufacturer sells it for. So do your research before you buy. read more

Lol my first visit was a joke and I will never come back here again. I took my dog shopping on Tuesday (12/08/2020) evening. While we were there, a middle-aged lady accidentally stepped on dog poop that has already been there (I haven't even been to that section of the store when the accident took place.) I was approached by the lady because she thought my dog was responsible for it. She turned to a real Karen and started being passive aggressive towards me when I explained to her that it wasn't my dog. Eventually the manager showed up and asked staff members to clean the floor. I offered them a poop bag just to be nice so they don't have to hold the dirty paper towel in their hand. And the manager had the audacity to ask me to clean the scene and said he's gonna check the camera to figure out who caused the mess. The manger never said sorry to me even though a staff member told him it wasn't my dog. Dear manager, have you done checking the camera recordings? You owe me an apology for being harassed by you and the crazy Karen in your store. Yikes! Shout out to the female staff member who defended me and my dog. Thank you! read more

I almost don't want to post this because I want this to be my little secret. So when people are done staging homes, all the furniture goes somewhere right? Shh....it comes here. Some of it is expensive: $30 for mismatched throw pillows. Some of the merchandise is absolutely destroyed: broken TV hutch Some items are completely useless: empty wine bottles But if you make a regular habit of coming here once every few months, you might land upon something cool. I found two silver or pewter colored mint julep type containers from Pottery Barn for under $10 each that I have been using to store makeup brushes and pens. We also snagged a modern mid-century style grey couch that the staff assured us was a really expensive brand (uh huh) on super sale on Friends & Family discount day. Which brings me to my last point. You should sign up for their mailing list because they send you emails with photos of the new merchandise and coupons. read more

I read mixed reviews about this place but decided to try it out. I am in process of moving from Irvine to San Francisco and have an empty apartment that needed love. I really liked the pieces here. The sales people were sweet and helpful. I dont understand how people thought the owner was rude. He was helpful and best thing: he was not pushy. I liked random pieces and was a little annoying because I am deciding between a modern or Victorian look and he seemed patient with my indecisiveness. The sales people were understanding as well. The layout of the store helped since I kept hopping around between choices. I've only successfully been here once, although I've tried to stop by a few other times after work. They are usually closed early. I've wasted my time enough at this point and feel the need to let other people know not to waste theirs. Don't post hours you don't intend to keep. A flat out rip off. I was offended by the outrageous retail prices for second hand furniture that was sometimes damaged (cabinet doors falling off, chipped table corners, sofa rips). They count on customers walking in with a "bargain" mindset and continuing to drink that Kool-Aid while browsing assemblages of tasteless junk. Don't be fooled. This is a nice place I think some of it is a little bit overpriced but they do have quite an assortment and it goes quickly. I was contemplating on a little desk I saw and when I went back five minutes later it already had a sold sign on it so if you want to get something Get it because it won't be there later. I will go there because I still need some furniture specifically and if I can find it at less cost then the store New then I'll get it if not then I'll just wait till next time. I do notice that the people who work there are very helpful in picking up your items and carrying them to your car for you to which I like very much. You could tell that people like the store based on the ample amount of parking but the parking lot being jampacked. What I love most, in addition to great customer service, is that there is a large variety of styles. I love this place. You can find some great deals. You do have to shop very often. Some days there is a great selection and then other days there is nothing. Prices are all over the place so you really need to know what your shopping for. You also have to be a little creative. The dishware typically has glue on it. There are directions at the register on how to remove the glue. They do email a coupon that is valid one day of the week. I never seem to make it on that day. LOL Oh yeah, don't get too excited about the electronics unless you know how to replace cords as they have been cut off because the item was for display purposes only. read more

I have recently purchased large pieces, pictures and decor here. The pricing is amazing!! I purchased a Jamie Young lamp for $36 at a 25% off sale. It retails for over 1,000. I had it repaired for $60 at D & H sewing and vacuum in Orange because they do lamp restoration. I also purchased a chaise for $181 which is currently retailing for 2,500. I am so grateful for all the beautiful designer pieces I was able to purchase at JLTM!! If anything has a price you think is high the piece is probably made by a designer and is basically a piece of art. The people who work here are very friendly. So glad I found this place!!
