I would strongly encourage anyone considering buying from this business to STEER CLEAR. I purchased a couch that was represented to me as brand new. When I opened the boxes to begin assembling it, I immediately found grass all over the couch which obviously raised a major red flag about whether this couch had actually been brand new or not. Despite that, I cleaned everything up and continued assembling it, hoping there wasn't going to be any other issue. Unfortunately, toward the end of assembly, I discovered that one of the armrests was missing the latches needed to attach it to the sofa AND the armrest itself was ripped. I contacted the business within 24 hours and explained exactly what had happened including pictures. Their initial response was essentially that I should just drive back to their warehouse and pick up the missing latches. But at that point, the missing latches were the least of the problem. I had been sold a couch that was supposed to be brand new, yet it arrived with grass in the packaging, missing hardware, and a ripped armrest. I explained this to them multiple times. After going back and forth, they finally agreed to give me store credit. I was willing to accept that even though, in my opinion, I should have been offered a refund for an item that was not delivered in the condition it was represented to be in. They then told me I needed to return the couch.... So I did exactly that. The couch was already approximately 99% assembled, and I had sent them pictures showing exactly what condition it was in. I had a relative with a truck drive the couch back to their warehouse for me. Then, after we went through the trouble of transporting the couch all the way back, they refused to accept it because it wasn't in the original boxes... Seriously? They knew the couch was no longer in the boxes. I had already sent them pictures showing that it was almost completely assembled. They knew exactly what condition it was in before I drove it back. I explained that I had no reasonable way to put it back into the original packaging. It arrived in three separate boxes, and I had no idea how it had originally been packed. Even if I somehow managed to disassemble it and cram everything back into the boxes, their solution made absolutely no sense. They would still have to take it apart again, inspect it, replace the missing/damaged pieces, and repackage it before potentially reselling it. I even spoke directly with the owner via FaceTime, and rather than trying to find a reasonable solution, he was extremely rude and completely unwilling to work with me. I explained the situation logically and repeatedly, but he simply refused to take the couch back. So now I'm out $700, I've wasted a tremendous amount of time, I've had to arrange transportation to return a defective product, and after doing everything they asked me to do, I was still left with absolutely no resolution. What makes this even more frustrating is that I wasn't demanding anything unreasonable. I was willing to accept store credit just to resolve the situation and move on. They couldn't even do that. The entire experience was frustrating from beginning to end, but the way management handled the situation was what really sealed the deal for me. A business can make a mistake. Products can have defects. What matters is how you treat the customer when something goes wrong. In this case, they made the situation dramatically worse by refusing to take responsibility and then hiding behind a technicality they already knew about. If you're thinking about buying furniture from this place, my advice is DON'T. Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend spending your money somewhere that actually stands behind what it sells and respects its customers when there is a problem. $700 lesson learned. I will never shop here again.

I had to circle back and bring that up, wherein they told me they had a "glitch". Ok, sure. It took roughly a week to get the actual refund. Very sketchy place. I ended up buying new mattresses elsewhere. For anyone considering purchasing here, look up their 1 star reviews for the Mission Viejo location.

First off I was quite surprised the moment I walked in the store. I had been furniture shopping all day and was pretty much ready to call it quits. I am so thankful that I didn't because the second I saw the awesome rustic desk sitting outside of the store, I KNEW this was going to be THE place I was looking for... I walked in and my eyes were dancing all over the room. There were beautiful desks, and book cases and tables made of gorgeous reclaimed wood. There were couches made of stunning leather and gorgeous color schemes... There were lovely pieces of furniture that resembled artwork that I just HAD to have. Dining room tables and chairs such as I have not seen before, and consoles of the kind that would make marvelous conversation pieces... Yes folks, I had visions of my home being THE home of the year. And what's more, the prices were AMAZING. Can I just say that I could not believe my eyes when I saw that I could own a solid wood bed that was of the same caliber featured in any celebrity bedroom for a fraction of the price? Yes! Yes I can! But the best part, was the service. Joseph and Marlene were outstanding. And that's just the beginning. From the first moment we walked in they both greeted us with a warm welcome and a friendly "hello!" Instantly cold water appeared in our hands and was replenished through our whole three hour visit... (Yes, we did buy and yes, we did stay for three hours!) We were sampling couches and mattresses and chairs, oh my! We ran our fingers over reclaimed wood fashioned into sublime cabinets which were painted bright colors and had a rustic finish. I think I may have fallen in love that day, as I set my eyes on a teal console that was just screaming to be taken home. Joseph was friendly, accommodating and very funny! They both shared anecdotes about their history in business, how they began with a dream and a vision and where they stand today with their family owned business... They even shared their scrapbook of memories replete with photos and articles! It was a great treat. I was super surprised by their willingness to not only create a personable experience, but a personal one as well... I loved it! This by far was the most unexpected, and fantastically strange furniture buying experience ever. What began as a "okay, I'll check it out, but let's hurry up and go home..." became a "Holy Smokes! This is the best furniture store EVER! Who cares about going home!" Seriously, we will be customers for as long as they are open for business. And when all was said and done, we shook hands and Joseph presented us with a beautiful bottle of wine to seal our friendship and our customer experience. Who does that??!! And it was a fantastic bottle to boot! I will definitely update when we crack that baby open... The icing on the cake was the delivery service... they set everything up and I didn't have to worry about a thing. They even called to check in with us to make sure everything went well... To say this is a unique store? Well this is totally true, but I'd also call the experience very rare in terms of customer service. This is something you can still discover in the small mom and pop stores that still struggle to make it. I wish more businesses demonstrated that type of care and concern for their customers as I experienced here... Now I am nostalgic for a time way before I was born... LOL! But with that said, I encourage you to definitely get down to Furniture Ala Carte because not only will you find the most gorgeous furniture, you will find the most gorgeous customer service and family behind the vision, too. I went with my daughter to buy furniture for her new apartment. We found this place online and we schlepped all the way to the OC because they had the style of furniture we wanted. The owners are hands on running the show and care very deeply about their product and customers. We bought a lot of stuff!! They were amazing, giving us price breaks because we bought about $10 000 worth of furniture and we furnished our entire place! The quality is top notch, they delivered the furniture on time and even the delivery guy was so nice. Bought an entire bedroom set from these people and was very impressed on there selection and also my ability to TRY-OUT the mattresses before purchasing one. I brought my own pillow and tested the various mattresses till one was "JUST RIGHT"! The prices were far better than any other BIG STORE I went to and they have such a wide variety of pieces. Some are so unique that they don't last long on the floor before they disappear! I also purchased an older style bar/ wine rack. What a find too! This is my favorite furniture store. Ive bought many unique pieces of furniture from Marlene and Joe over the years but I just received my custom sofa I'd ordered & I'm so happy with it. I was looking for some funky bar stools and went to Living Spaces to get a price quote on Dovetail. I then remembered Marlene and Joe of Orange County Rustic/ Furniture Ala Carte carried the same brand and paid them a visit. The same two bar stools were $25 cheaper each stool. Went all the way to Santa Ana, to try and see it. They didn't have it in store, but they said they could order it for me - great! Showed them the table on my phone (direct from their website,) Order placed, took maybe a week and a half, and I picked it up at their warehouse, easy peasy. I unboxed it in my garage to make it easier to get in my building, brought it into my unit and put it together... and it was a miniature version of what I wanted. Did I read the measurements wrong? Went back to the website, to the table I bookmarked; nope, I read them right, but the table sitting in front of me was definitely not what I (thought I) ordered. Long story short - there are two different tables whose photos look nearly identical, but one is MUCH smaller than the other one! I contacted customer service, explained the situation and sent them screenshots of both tables. Anne in their customer service department was PHENOMENAL. She made sure the correct table was ordered, and that I would be able to exchange the one I received with no problems. Anyway I return the tiny table and pick up the full size version this Saturday. I am a happy camper all thanks to Anne!!

Upon arrival we were greeted by a worker maybe owner and he was giving us a deal instead of the 8inch he was going to give us the 10inch for the same price. We happily agreed and took the mattress home. We unpackaged everything and left it alone for a couple hours, afterwards we noticed no rising whatsoever so we headed to the store the next day to find out if that was normal. The owner/worker explained to us it takes 48 hours to fully expand because the weather being cold it takes longer. Here we are a week in and little to no progress we really wanted to give this place the benefit of doubt we paid 446$ for a mattress to not even rise we feel maybe we got scammed and they gave us a 3 inch instead of a 10. I hope to hear from these people soon this is just outrageous and seems like we were taken advantage of because he saw how pregnant i am. I would hope this isn't the case and maybe they gave us the wrong mattress. But this is completely unacceptable. We measured the mattress and it has only risen to 4 inches. Date is on receipt I purchased this on November 12th, 2024

Used to be some kinda manufacturing plant, probably 100 years ago, old distressed wood floors and brick everywhere.....really cool. There was LOTS of really nice office furniture and the tatted up girl was super helpful. Ended up spending about $800 and there delivery/assembly fee was the cheapest I've ever seen. Good stuff!
