Ok... Am I doing it wrong? What am I not getting about this place? Just left here. Drove from Redondo Beach. What a disappointment! I love bargain shopping and I love consignment but this place gives no bargains for the used state of its inventory. I saw one blue couch that was a "deal" at $550. I also saw a slew of good condition furniture pieces but from $250 to $1000. But to be honest a lot of the items I saw in this price range you can find something similar if not better brand new! A good gauge for how expensive they are --- throw pillows. You can buy new from $10 - $17 at TJ Maxx. Here I saw them at $17. Used. Another jaw dropping item which actually made me annoyed was a pottery vessel. Looked like your run of the mill home goods find. I saw a yellow one and a white one --- $99.99!!!! I can't believe it. Sorry, I just don't get it and I tried REALLY hard. Jackie P. and Thu N. had recommended this place to me while furniture shopping for my new home and I was really looking forward to it. In my mind, I was going to fall in love with a futon, dote on a dining room table, court a comforter set and I was going to leave with obscene amounts of bags that warrant their own moving truck. But alas, this was all a dream - there were no birds singing my victory song, no harmonious rainbows, no happy ending. I don't really know what I was expecting, but it wasn't all that affordable. Patio sets and coffee tables were still a few hundred bucks. There weren't really pairs of anything (ottomans didn't match sofas, throw pillows were in singles, lamps stood alone). There is a whole section on the right that could be categorized as decorative stuff - but I don't consider empty wine bottles and sealed jars of clothes pins as decorations, do you? It was a fail for me, but I am actually willing to come back because I'm that optimistic and maybe I went on a off week? Great place to browse for furniture, framed art work, lamps, etc... no guarantees you will find an item on each visit. If in no rush to furnish your home and looking for the right item this is the place to go regularly. Prices are reasonable but I've also seen items made with cheap wood costing lots of $$. I suggest inspecting the items throughly before purchasing. I would lift the furniture to see if it's solid hardwood and run my nail on the wood to tell if it's soft wood. While it seems other found some pretty awesome deals here - my experience fell short of just that. I'm sure if I spent more time digging through every item, I probably could have found a steal of a deal. We were told about this place through a mutual friend, and after a few mixed reviews on Yelp, we thought it was worth the drive out. Upon arriving, we were blown away by the amount of inventory they had inside the warehouse. I was eager to find a steal on any home decor items. We started browsing through some selections on the floor. Some items were in great shape, while other looked beat up and in need of love and elbow grease. The prices seemed fairly steep compared to other furniture and home decor stores around the area. I actually thought Living Spaces & Home Goods had better deals and prices compared to this place - and at least I'd be buying new instead of "gently used". I'm not sure if this was worth the drive nor worth the bargains people say they are priced at...maybe some have better luck than others. read more

Remodeled my place and needed furniture, I was on the lookout for a sofa, tables, and possibly chairs. I really didn't want to pay over $300 for a couch and look hard for awhile at so many different places. I checked out consignment furniture stores and even looked at goodwill. I was hesitant on purchasing a sofa from goodwill or didn't see many that looked somewhat clean. Then I stumbled upon this place on yelp, read the reviews and googled it. It seemed very intriguing being a warehouse in Irvine that was stocked with the staging items from "model" homes that have all sold. I thought it was a pretty cool concept and I have been through a couple model homes when my folks were looking, so I knew the furniture was going to be good looking and not too used. When I found this place, I entered the doors and a huge smile came across my face. I was like gold mine!!!!!! They have literally everything here and some items are priced high but give it time then come back, those items will be cheaper the longer they are still in the warehouse. My first time here I was accepting the fact that I was going to be paying $300-400 for a nice solid sofa... As I was searching the sofa aisle, I came across this one sofa and the price tag read $189. I like had to look or read it twice, I called the employee over and even asked, "is this the correct price?" She responded "yes" and I automatically responded "wait, are you sure it's not like missing a 0 or another number?" She laughed and told me that was the price and well soldddddddddd!!!!! Leather looking, comfy, good looking big sofa for under $200! I was and still am such a happy customer! I have found many other pieces here like two tables, artwork, plates and pillows. The items here are from stores like Macy's or crate&barrel and are good quality. Some of the plates or kitchen ware are glued together because well remember these items are from model homes and are meant to be staged. The prices are beyond fair. Only downside is the transportation or moving any big items you purchased to your home. They provide a service but it's a bit pricey, I decided to go with the u-haul. I definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for furniture, changing your place up or just really in the area! They constantly get new items, so it's a place that you got to or may keep up/check in with. read more

My interior designer friend recommended this place, and upon arrival, I immediately fell in love with it! Artwork ranges anywhere from $30-$250. The ones I've been eying are around $95-$125, and that's for really large pieces that can act alone in your living room. They have lots of little items that you could place on your coffee table, bathroom, walls...etc. for very cheap prices. Interior design is almost like scrapbooking. You start off with one central focus which sets the theme for the rest of the room. Here, you'll find that "one piece" that will serve as inspiration to your dining room, living room, bathroom..you name it. Your creative juices will start running wild, so be careful because you might end up selling your puppy and your first born just to shop another day here. I was really looking forward to finding some great furniture deals and was very disappointed after I walked through the warehouse. There is definitely a lot of items to browse through from rugs, bedroom, living room, dining room furniture, accent pieces and lots and lots of home decor items. The showroom was crowded with items and the photos that I had seen were nothing like the showroom itself. The store advertises high-end furniture at below discounted prices but I did not see anything that impressed me enough to purchase it. I got a great deal on a 40" flat screen TV... But when I got ti home it wouldn't turn on... Damn those plastic model homeTVs!!!! So seriously, you can get lost in this place and you can find some great bargains. Stuff moves out fast, so be prepared when you get there to put on a hold tag (you can ask at the counter and hold items for 1 hour while you shop with a little orange circle). It closes early, and is closed Sunday and Monday so make a note of that in your iphone :) Quality varies, stuff is made for model homes, not a real house, so just be aware as you are inspecting. I thought the customer service was great! The man helping us told us all about the item we were looking at and when it arrived and even moved other furniture so we could get a better idea of how it would look in our home. The ottoman was $350, kinda pricey and had some scuffs on the wood and was a bit dirty from being moved around, but it fit the style I was looking for even though the quality wasn't "$350" it was a unique piece. I bought it and I'm happy... but not ecstatic. I'm a bargain hunter and there aren't many bargains as this place, but very cute, quality things. It's hard work, but it's worth it, even if it takes a few trips. I got swivel bar stools with backs, covered in taupe Ultrasuede, marked down to 29.00 each. Seriously, have you priced bar stools that you can lean back in? I got a beautiful wood cabinet that has a pull out desk tray and inner shelving, which I am using for stereo equipment in my bedroom. Heavy and stylish, for 69.00. It was first priced at 189.00, which was still a great deal, but I needed something more affordable. Clearly, I was rewarded for going back to the store. My favorite of all is a reproduction painting of koi fish for 200.00. I was expecting that it cost at least 800.00 and was shocked. The frame alone would have cost more. read more

We have stopped by four separate times in the last few months and each time we found the perfect items for our new home. We have purchased side tables, pictures, bookcase, lamps etc. and all were a great price for such quality items. They have everything from lamps to beds to soft and hard furniture and many decor items. Their staff will load items into your vehicle for you. The only minor complaint is it is a big warehouse with no heat, so be sure to dress warm in cool weather. read more

Great place for second-hand home goods and furniture. Located in an industrial section of Irvine surrounded by other home warehouses. There's a few constructions going on in the area, so stay alert. One truck nearly ran into me while I was making a U-turn. As far as the items, it's a hit or miss. Plenty of great looking goods, which is reflective of the cost. There are also many items that I felt were overpriced and you are better off purchasing BRAND NEW versions from HomeGoods or slightly used version from the GoodWill. The quality of the items are good -- just needs a little elbow grease. Some chips on the frames, dust on the vases and a little mishandling of the floral arrangements... nothing too severe. If you love big dusty warehouses full of decor, this is heaven! LOL I have been shopping at Just Like the Model off and on for the past few years. You can find some real treasure amid the masses of couches and zebra stripe chairs. I just found a funky hand carved cabinet to use as a console table for under $200. saw one very similar to it at an upscale furniture boutique for about $1000. You do have to know what things cost and whats quality and whats not. Lamps and frames not always whats in the frames, LOL, can be a steal. Dining tables ,funky racks of decor are a pickers paradise. I find the staff helpful, and they always help me load my car. Its one of those places you need to check when in a redecorating mode! read more

Large warehouse with lots of furnishings ranging from complete living room sets as well as beds with bedding to pictures and other decorative items. Since this is a consignment store - inventory changes and I believe everything is sold "as is". With that said most of the furniture was in good condition. The best part is their pricing - just a quick visit to the furniture stores at SOCO just a couple miles away and you'll really appreciate Just Like the Model's prices! Huge warehouse. Very friendly and helpful salespeople. We were looking for a bed and a sofa or sofa set. We immediately found a bed. It is a solid wood Eastern King size bed for $250. Wonderful price for the quality AND size. The couches were mostly not our style and were a tiny bit overpriced, but I'm sure that if we visited every week, we would find something we like in our price range. I have been frequenting Just Like the Model to try to furnish our new home. We got a great couch here. There are some great find and their goods rotate rather quickly. Customer service is awesome, I am always asked if I need help looking for anything or if I have any questions. They are not pushy, just there if you need anything which I love. One down side is for used goods, it is rather expensive. Some pieces will still be a couple of hundred dollars but have a huge scratch right down the middle that cannot be fixed. Good place to check frequently for some nice gems. New things to find weekly. The prices are very reasonable.

Went in today. They are carrying a tonne of inventory, making it difficult to navigate the store and see pieces. They are also carrying a tonne of trash- no treasures today unfortunately. As I have said before, you must absolutely know your prices before going in. Homegoods/TJ Maxx is a far better option. Also the quality of lots of the furniture here is not 'high end/ designer' as they would have you believe. Lots of it is cheaply made (Wayfair/Home Decorators/ Overstock quality) and very overpriced. Lots of the upholstered items were also scuffed/dirty and there are no returns.... Saw multiple Ikea Ektorp sofas/ loveseats today mislabelled as Pierce sofa (Pottery Barn) so that is questionable and I think that is an unlikely 'mistake' to make for those in the industry to make. More likely shenanigans. I think I'm done with JLTM. read more

It is from model homes so you get everything you would need for your home. Once again!!!! The owner had shown her true color, I have been in a dispute with Just like the Model about the fake jewelry, I had left them in the store and walked when her manager was going to credit my account before she intervened and stopped her. After few month going back and forth with the credit card company they called her and had me on three way so I can arrange to pick up my jewelry so I can have it checked by an expert and send it to my credit card company. After she told us yes she have them and I can pick them up anytime I was in her store in less than 30 minuets at this time she doesn't have all of them!!!! So from 12 items I got back 6 she said she sold some of them and she will look for the other 2 and call me. That never happen and she didn't credit me for what she resold!!!!!!! Now I can't prove to my credit card company anything and am out of the money, I have NEVER in my life experienced anything or anyone like that, how can she still be in business is behind my comprehension. read more

Meh...some of the items are ridiculously overpriced. My coworker and I were really excited to scope this place out, thinking we'll find nice items at reasonable prices. I would buy some of the hardcover or coffee table books just to dress up my library. But as far as furniture and decor items I would think twice. To me, a designer piece is only valuable if it's in good condition. Otherwise why spend the money? I found myself staring at an ikea desk that is probably the same price as a brand new piece. Found out about this place through a friend and decided to give it a shot since we were looking for a desk. Everything we looked at was over $200 and nothing looked nice enough to be at that price. I feel that those previous reviews, with more than one star are "Plants" I and 2 of my friends drove up from San Clemente due to me seeing on Ch7 news. What a waste of time. It is no more than a thrift store. Their name is very misleading. I would say 95% of the stuff in there is on consignment. I saw very very few clean, in good condition items. For example, there was a chair I was looking at and I swear if I sat in it it would fall apart. It was made of very poor wood (pine??) and the glue had given out so it wiggled like it was going to fall to pieces. As I was standing near it a woman came up and picked up the price tag. She looked at me, rolled her eyes then we both started laughing. It's price??.....$300+!!! I stumbled across this place and was so excited. I love looking at model homes and wish I had the interior design style that the model home designers have. This place is a little intimidating because it is just a huge warehouse and everything is just jumbled together. I didn't really look at prices, because I didn't really find anything I liked... also, because I have a phobia of searching through piles of things, which I know is my loss. If you are a bargain hunter and have lots of free time, and a big truck, this is a great place to shop. Sofa sets are less than half the retail and some are in very good condition. I've bought some nice decorative pieces here for garage sale price. However, the hot glue is impossible to take off. I bought a dozen glasses and plates and had to throw away because of the hot glue at the bottom. Now I stay away from pieces with hot glue. Bring furniture home is a problem because they don't deliver even if you pay them. You'd have to rent a truck or pay a 3rd party moving company to deliver. They get new stuff daily so there's always new stuff to see if you have free time. read more

Staff( girls/ guys) and owner were all friendly and smiles, very professional and polite. Yes- it is a consignment store so you do have to sift through and spend a bit of time, but we bought $5000 drapes for $199 a panel and a gorgeous art piece for under $200. Holy cow! read more
