Just went today and I experienced the BEST massage I have ever had! As a webmaster, I spend a lot of time in front of the computer at work, hunched over to read small text and documents, typing a ton and while I try to sit with good posture, a long 12 hour work day means serious pain in my neck, back and shoulders. I stopped by during my lunch break because due to work/stress, I could not turn my head to the right to look over my shoulder. The muscles were just completely seized up and was shooting pain all the way from my neck down to the low back. Ouch! My salvation came in the form of a friendly, petite massage therapist named Odett. I asked for a firm style of massage, and it ended up being primarily Thai massage with some Swedish moves when comfortable. Wow! She seriously dug in there to work out my issues. I could actually HEAR my muscle knots being forcefully (yet gently) pulled apart - it sounded like she was rubbing her elbows against some meat gristle, I had no idea my body had gotten that "stuck". Then towards the end she twisted me like a pretzel from which I heard 7 audible cracks from my neck and back. Omg, I cannot even describe the instant rush of relief that was felt in my kinked neck. Towards the end of the session Odett found some spots on my upper arms which I had no idea were that sore, so she spent a few extra minutes over the allotted 1 Hour to make sure I left feeling relaxed and pain-free as possible. Seriously, if what your body needs is a thorough and professional massage without all the other frilly crap that other places bundle in, like a pedicure or an "organic lilac-scented mud bath" to supplement an overpriced, glorified backrub, THIS IS YOUR SPOT! Angela is amazing! I just got a massage from her and I left feeling like I just endured mountain climbing... and yet feeling totally relaxed. I've been here three times over the last year. The first two times I had a couples massage and the lady I had (I don't recall her name) ended up literally leaving bruises on my lower back along my spine, absolutely PAINFULL!!! Even though the first experience wasn't the greatest, for the price you cant beat it so the hubby and I tried it again, to much of my surprise it was AMAZING!!! I had Odette, and she is just as incredible as everyone says she is!!! My last two visits were great!! It isn't a glamorous "SPA", but for the cost you cant beat it! I never been treated this badly since I've been coming here for 6 years!! Will never go back! The receptionist charged my wife the wrong amount and called her to come back and pay. Instead of asking her to pay by credit card on the phone the difference they demand her to come back. She forgot. I walk in 2 weeks later unaware of the mistake they made and ask me to pay it. No problem I did. Then after I paid it Aye the massage person then accuses me and my wife of cheating them out of $25 for 20 days and calls me a lied and a cheat in front of others customers and the receptionist that made the mistake barely stuck up for me until I finally blew up and said you guys are the most unprofessional group I've ever meet! How dare you says my is a cheat after I just paid you and it's was your receptionist mistake in the first place! After 6 years of my business they wait till I walk in and they ring up the $25 and then berate me on their mistake!! I called to have Ceaser the owner call me back before I wrote this review to give them the benefit of the doubt. Never called back!! I give this place a solid 4 stars! I have been going to Just Massage for years and this is definitely my favorite of the Just Massage locations right now. I live near the Torrance location but I work near the El Segundo one. I used to work in this location several years ago too and was always pretty happy with my massage. The best massage therapists are Joy and Sue, hands down!!! I used to see Joy during my first pregnancy, and it was like heaven during all my Sciatica and 2nd/3rd trimester pains. I believe Joy works later shifts and now that I have two kids I am unable to come after work like I used to, and I see Sue mostly during my lunch breaks. Sue is amazing!! I have been to many massage places and when I go back to Just Massage I am reminded what a GOOD MASSAGE feels like! I feel like melted butter afterwards and wish I could take a nap (but I have to go back to work). I just made an appointment today and both my girls were booked so I am hoping they are good... Absolutely worst massage place. If you want a yoga class, then come here for an expensive one. If you want to be bruised all over your body, then once again come here for an expensive beating. My friend and I decided to try it out. My lady got on top of me and put all her body weight on my back with her knees and elbows, which isn't good for my back with my back injury. I never even told her "deep tissue" she just went for it. I told her multiple times to ease up on the knew and elbow pressure, and just kept going. Then the rest of the session was her stretching me out, which I'm capable of doing on my own. When she rubbed my arms or legs, she used no lotion or oil so it was like I was getting an Indian burn.$45 dollars for a eating and yoga class?! Yeah no thanks I paid for a massage. read more

Just got a massage by James. He is fabulous! Very nice guy and did an excellent job. He was very sensitive to make sure he was doing a good job and told me everything he was about to do. The entire massage was heavenly from start to finish. In addition to doing a great job he was just simply very friendly and approachable from the start. I like to try different massage therapists just because I enjoy variety. I had previously gone to Sheila in Westchester who is also excellent, but just like to try new therapists. I told James this and he was totally supportive. I'm sure some would try to fight you for their business. I appreciated that he did not try to do this and in fact even seemed to agree that it's perfectly ok to try a variety of therapists. I may still try others just because I like variety, but James (and Sheila too) are at the top of my list. In addition the receptionist here was very nice and professional. read more

I have been to the Westchester location and have used Ales (female) She is a small lady but I have to tell you she has the strongest hands I have ever felt...You would never know it until you try her!! I love it here. It's no frills and literally just a massage. The prices are great and they can usually fit me in whenever I just decide I want to go. I usually go to Odette and she is great. She uses a good amount of pressure but I don't feel sore afterward. I have also been to Teya and she is great when you're really in pain and need someone to press really hard and work something out. Well it's no San Diego Spa-Velia, (yeah look 'em up) but it isn't the worst place ever either. So in so many words not the greatest massage, location, atmosphere or places ever but it's not the absolute worst either; In my lists of "massage/spas" they'd rank #2 of the "worst" . I could say many more things but I am being truthful on my experience... Now the fact that I could book damn near immediately should have told me something but I am not big on that kinda warning. First, the location of the place is so god-awfully hidden if you're not looking for it you will not find it. It's in the tiny corner of a "island-ed" plaza, so the only reason you KNOW it's there is because there are only a handful of businesses there. Secondly, the receptionist was warm and friendly but the folks who worked there didn't say much. Not really smiling, but rather peering in on who had to do what to whom. My main gripes and the reasons which weighted the majority of the rating given was after stating what my problem areas were I felt I got rubbed down heavily everywhere else but... which is a BIG uh-uh for me. Then on top of that the room was a little too cool for my taste as they should be slightly warm for massaging and to top it all off... the lady who was my therapist had in my opinion, hurried hands and no real rhythm to the massage process. I also felt like her nails or something was scratching me... during certain "rhythms"... Understand, I feel his way because I am licensed in cosmetology and I know how massages should feel- including the direction, flow, and rhythms that relax the body... Long story short the person should be asleep within 10-15 minutes into the massage. Thats what a DAMN GOOD massage will do to you... It will put you to SLEEP. I was wide awake the whole time (90 mins). I guess the "saving grace" for this spot is it is fairly cheap for the massages... $45.00 for an hour and $70.00 for an hour and a half. So this is one of those places you hit when all you want is an okay rub down for cheap. if you're looking for the total experience of a sauna, showers, wine, atmosphere and a HELLA GOOD massage- this ain't the stop. Worst massage in almost 20 years. I knew it wouldn't be Burke Williams, but I thought it would just be no frills. The massage turned out to be no skills. I had the deep tissue massage. I'm used to feeling pain for the gain of having knots broken up and feeling better the next day. The massage therapist spent some time pushing on my upper vertebrae and I trusted that she knew what she was doing. The next day I was bruised and even felt discomfort lying on my pillow. She used her nails to scratch my scalp for an extended period of time that just did not feel good...it hurt. I kept thinking she was going to stop so I didn't say anything...I should have. She used her forearms more than her hands. That should have been my tip-off that her skill level was going to be a disappointment. Now I've had some really skilled therapists use their forearms. But often when someone isn't good, I've noticed that they use their forearms a lot because they don't have the skills and strength to use their hands (they get tired). Lastly, when I was leaving I noticed a sign in the room that mentioned the low fee for the massage suggesting a larger tip for the therapists. I thought it tasteless. THE reason I was trying this studio was because of it's economical cost. Now the sign was essentially telling me that I needed to make up some of the difference in my tip. I still tipped the therapist $10 bringing the total to $55. If I had known I would be bruised the next day I wouldn't have. read more

My wife and I go to Just Massage on a regular basis. They give great massages there, especially Joy, Tom, A, and Tara. They are marvelous.

Today I enjoyed a one hour massage with Shoshana. She was excellent. I have been going to this place periodically over the years and after my massage about a year ago, said I would never go again because the massage I got was not a good one. This is my second time visited this place and it is by far one of best place to give pregnancy massage. The massage therapists here are very caring and attentive. I see some of the previous review here saying that the therapist here was rude by asking if the customer was pregnant; I would totally disagree that. As a mom to be, I wish that every massage place does this for the safety of the customer. Overall I love this place and would recommend everyone in general, not only the pregnant ladies to try out this place and you will not regret it. read more

Wow, just wow....I have had massages in the past, but usually for pampering. I have been having major lower back problems for over 2 years, and have had many many procedures to help with my chronic pain. (none of them have worked) My next step was going to be a very evasive spinal fusion. I ran across a gift certificate my daughter had given me a few years back, and had also spoken to many friends who spoke highly of Joy. At this point I was looking for anything to relieve my pain, so I booked my first appointment with Joy. I haven't felt this good for over 2 years. Im glad my intuition guided me in her direction. I had no idea that a massage could have such healing properties on my body. I now try to see her once a week. Joy has truly been a God send. She is not only my healer, she is my friend. wish i'd read the other reviews before throwing my $$ away for this massage. let me start with the positives: -was able to walk in and get an appointment -therapist was really kind, had decent pressure at times. -place was clean, nice environment, parking was no problem here's my disappointment - I wrote on my intake form the areas I wanted focus on (lower, left back and right biceps). I even specifically told and pointed to these area, as she was planning to give me a full body massage (which I told them I didn't want). the therapist did not "listen" to me. I felt that she gave me what SHE wanted. you might be thinking, "well, you should've told her"....well, I did, several times and again, pointing to the areas. she kept going back to the shoulder area and the right side of my back. Finally, I just gave up trying to get her to do what seemed to be simple to follow. example, with 15 min remaining, I asked her to spend 5 on the lower left back and 10 min on the right bicep. she touched my lower back maybe less than a min, went to the upper back then switched to the right side...I concluded that there was a language barrier. she flips me over to work on my right bicep, but proceeded to grab my left bicep...again, had to ask her to work on the RIGHT bicep. there were moments in the session where I felt like I was getting "carpet burn" on my back! read more

If I could give zero stars I would. The only good thing about this place was that we were able to get last minute massage appointments when the Westchester location was closed due to a private party. They asked us to come 10 minutes early and of course were late in taking both of us. When it was time for our massage to be up they promptly ended at the hour end mark failing to recall that THEY were LATE to starting our massage. None of this is actually why I would give this place zero stars.. the massage itself was the worst massage I have ever gotten. I am pretty sure they just picked someone up at the corner and offered her the job. She had no idea what she was doing and caused a lot more damage and pain then help. When I got out of my massage and said that I strongly disliked it, the receptionist said 'Next time tell us within 15 minutes and we won't charge you'. Gee thanks!! Today was my first time visiting this studio and I was very disappointed. This was the worst massage I've ever had. Julia was my masseuse and she's not good at all. First, she started late (she was eight minutes late) then massaged me as if she was inexperienced. Her strokes were fast & furious, as if she was Making up for lost time. While massaging my shoulders & neck, she kept hitting me in my head. I asked her if she was in a hurry, why was she rushing and she just gave me a dumbfounded look. I didn't feel pampered or relaxed and left there feeling like I just got out of the spin cycle of a washing machine! Upon completion of the service, Julia just replied "goodbye". She never once asked how did I feel, did I enjoy the massage, nothing. The receptionist did inquire whether or not I enjoyed the massage. When I replied no, it wasn't good...she just shrugged her shoulders. Needless to say, I wouldn't recommend this studio at all. If I could give a zero to the business, I would. I would like to express my concerns to whoever decides to go to this place. Let me start by saying I was referred there by my cousin and his wife years ago and all of us have been loyal customers, ever since. So recently, I decided to give a gift card as a birthday gift to my cousins wife to Just Massage, El Segundo, they both went and had massages, but were both cheated out of time. Over the course of years, we have never felt this way. Our complaints have been going unheard and I think whatever changes that have been happening at Just Massage, is affecting their customer service. There solution is to add on another 8 minutes to another massage. Why should they have to go back, pay for another massage to get with that already paid for. That doesn't make since. I as a purchaser of the gift card want my money back. I will not go back unless they fix this situation and I am sure my family won't either. Not to mention I drive an hour away just to come here. It seems that I cannot contact the 1 person (Caesar) that I was told to ask for so someone else gives me subpar excuses. I totally will miss my therapist but will not miss the unconcern and lack of connectivity with the office staff. read more

I've driven by Just Massage a gazillion times but never gotten it together to book an appointment and get a massage. But my birthday and a gift certificate from my mom inspired me to treat myself. Their online booking system is so easy and I was even able to book for the same day. I wouldn't say that their place is "spa-like" at all but the guy behind the desk was really friendly and they took me right on time. I booked an hour with Joy and she was wonderful. She was really professional and through and even included a face rub which felt great and I've never had during a regular massage before. She was very sweet and asked me if I had any problems, anything she should know about and if there was any area I would like her to work on. The room was pretty basic and as other yelpers have noted, the beds and sheets not the best but the lighting was low and relaxing with some nice music. However, the massage was very relaxing and felt great- which is ultimately what one is going for and the prices there are really affordable. Although I used a gift certificate, I would go back as their prices are reasonable and I thought Joy was awesome. Definitely a good place to check out! They do mention they would prefer cash so hit the ATM before you go. read more
