I wish I could leave zero stars. In fact, I wish I could leave negative stars. As you can see from my prior reviews of this place, I was once a big fan. Not after today. Bear in mind that I have been a customer of this location since the first month it opened. I went online this morning and made an appointment through their cumbersome system. I got an email later telling me that there was a conflict. The conflict had to do with the therapist I'd chosen needing to have a break between clients because she isn't feeling well enough to go "back to back" appointments all day. So I went back to the website and made another appointment. Again, an email telling me that there was a conflict. So I called again and was told that apparently someone else booked a client on the phone as I was just making that online appointment. I asked if anyone was available at the hour I wanted I got the confirmation text message confirming the appointment. I got the email message confirming the appointment. I got the reminder email message with the time of the appointment. I walked in 3 minutes after the appointment time and the completely clueless receptionist told me to have a seat. 20 minutes later she told me there was a "slight problem." The slight problem turned out to be that she'd allowed someone else to walk in and take my appointment, because his name "sounded like mine." When I expressed my displeasure mildly, she began giving me attitude. I asked her to adopt a more "customer-service oriented" attitude and to her credit, she did. She phoned her manager and apparently this was beyond their ability to resolve. Their solution was to provide me with a shortened session with the therapist who was previously too ill to take me at the original appointment time, more than 30 minutes into my 1.5 hour timeslot. There have been occasional glitches in appointments before, but the utter lack of concern on the part of management and the fact all the receptionist could do was shrug indicates to me that my business is NOT appreciated. So I will take it elsewhere. read more

Very disappointed with the service. I booked an appointment and my masseuse was supposed to be Teya ... The appointment is for 2 pm and I wait and wait and ask the receptionist what is taking so long and she says that she doesn't know where Teya is an she is not answering her phone either... Oh what a great place. I have been a regular there for just about a year now. I have never had a bad massage at this location. The therapist are all very nice. If you are looking for a nice relaxing massage without too much pressure I would ask for Shoshana. However, if you are looking for medium to deep pressure I would ask for: Roger, Andrea, or Kay in that order. I made two reservations online, one for me and one for my boyfriend at a 1/2 hr. Apart. They called me up to verify that it wasn't a mistake. I had requested a male masseur for my boyfriend and he received a female masseur. I had to tell my lady to ease up because it was too hard however she never even asked me what pressure i wanted or liked. Then after she eased up she didn't check back in with me to make sure that the pressure was good or ok. I've been going here for probably 5 or 6 years now. For the price and the quality of massage, I'm not sure it can be beat in South Bay. I have pretty much exclusively used Odett for all these years. Part of me doesn't want to recommend her because she'll be tougher to schedule with! But she is really top notch, and such a sweetheart. My job as a cameraman is pretty demanding, and she has always helped get me back to 100% quicker after a tough day. Scheduling a massage has always been very easy. Sometimes they recognize its me when I call which makes it such a friendly experience. They've even called me back if they have a cancellation ahead of me to see if I want to come in sooner. Was going once a month. Scheduled an appointment. Had a slight emergency and needed to cancel. The lady I spoke with was the owner. I apologized. She could care less. Told me to stick to the appointment or call hours before. I held my composure and told her I had an emergency to tend to. She didn't give a rats ass. I gave it one more shot and was told to have a seat for a 7pm appointment. I showed up 10 min before and was all good. At 7:20 I still didn't get called in and I asked if I would be called in soon. I was told to have a seat and they would be with me when they are ready. I told the lady I had it and cancel my appointment. She asked why and I just walked out. Great massage if you can get in. The name says it all. Don't expect anything beyond stripping down, getting massaged (or in my odd case - slapped around a bit), and then moseying on out. It's a $45 one hour massage so you know they're keeping it simple. So why the 2 stars? Well I've been to multiple JM locations and this was the first one I walked out of feeling worse than when I entered. I'm not sure about you but word on the street is massages are supposed to be relaxing? I made an appointment online (props for having an online appointment system - minus props for confirming the appointment via email 2 weeks later! Yup, I received the confirmation for an appointment that happened already 2 weeks after the fact. Was a good thing I called them after I booked online to be sure they got me down instead of hoping for some actual online confirmation). My friend and I came and had to wait...my massage started around 8:15. My masseuse was nice enough, asked me the pressure I like and she said she'd use a combination of methods. We get started and I seriously think she was trying to start a fire on my back. She was massaging with such rapidness without a focused pressure so it was just odd...I told her I'd like a firm pressure and longer strokes which improved the experience a bit. Until she got to my legs. I was just starting to relax when * Slap Slap Slap * Basically she clapped my legs up and down. This is a massage method I've encountered before but it usually doesn't just feel like someone is smacking me. I sat up startled and actually starting laughing bc I just felt "Is someone filming this?? This has to be a joke!" I wanted to ask her not to slap my other leg but she seemed so pleased with her slappage and I was in such shock I was like oh wth. And then my arms got slapped around...and pulled this way and that way. When she ended the massage and the clock read 8:50 I thought "Started late, ended early" and then thought "Thank God. I can't take anymore abuse!" Granted, I should have been more vocal about my needs and just tell her - "Thanks but no thanks on the whole slappy mcslapperson method" and "You owe me 20+ minutes" but I was tired, it was late and I just know this poor masseuse has been kneading people all day long and probably just wanted to go home too. Just beware and go in with little to no expectations. Read through the other reviews to see if you can pinpoint a good masseuse and who knows - maybe your outcome will be different. read more

Clearly "Eliza" is employed by Just Massage. Funny this is "Eliza's" first review ever! I find it horrific that anyone thinks it is appropriate to ask an 115 pound woman if she is pregnant. Awesome massage by Bew! I was pleasantly surprised at how great the massage was for the low price. The room was simple and clean, and the massage table was very comfortable. This is my go-to place for massages. No frills. You get in, you get your massage, and you get out. Do not expect a "spa" experience. The price is amazing for what you get. I've had several different massage therapists and I choose depending on my mood. Yes I go regularly, about once a month. Odette and Teya are my favorites. I see Odette if I want a relaxing massage. It never fails - I always fall asleep when I'm with her. She has a very soothing touch. Also good at stretching. I see Teya for more of a deep tissue massage. She has small but strong hands which I like. That is why I usually prefer female massage therapists because men 1) usually have hairy arms and I don't like that and 2) their hands are a lot bulkier and I feel that their fingers are not as intricate enough to get into all the knots that I have in my sore muscles. I'm 4'10" and have and would consider myself a fit/athletic build. There is a sign that clearly states that if you are uncomfortable or not satisfied with your massage therapist you have 15 minutes into your session to tell them so. Speak up! if they are not the right fit then maybe you should have a different massage therapist. read more

1st Yelp review ever for my WORST massage ever! I read overall pretty good reviews so maybe I just got unlucky with my person. Not even sure what her name was bc she never introduced herself and it wasn't on the door like others were. I just know I was in the first room behind the desk. Reasons why it was THE WORST... * She spent almost half the time massaging me on top of the sheet. I felt like I was being rubbed raw. * Her nails dug into me multiple times, twice making me jump. I'm seriously worried I'm gonna have scratches all over. * It's as if she didn't understand the anatomy of the body. I have plenty of muscles and knots in my back but she barely touched them. And instead kneaded into my bones. So it's like some parts of my body received barely any pressure. And others might be bruised. * I left covered in oil. Which would normally be rubbed in throughout the hour but since she didn't do much, it was as if I had just put it on. I've never had to wipe myself off before getting dressed. Being that I didn't want to cause a scene or embarrass the woman, I waited until the end to pop my head out and ask the girl at the front desk if I could talk to the manager. I thought many times about getting up in the middle but just kept hoping it would get better. I told the girl I didn't think I should have to pay for this bc it was such an awful massage. She promptly and nicely called the manager. BUT then the manager said I have to pay bc I stayed the whole hour! I semi get that bc it was her time I'm paying for but it was also a service that I'm paying for (a nice relaxing and/or effective massage) which I didn't not receive! I should have gotten some sort of discount or at the very least been able to explain what went so horribly wrong so that maybe this won't happen to the next person. I asked the girl at the desk if I could talk to the manager myself and she said she was not allowed to do that. Clearly, I will not be returning since the manager seems more worried about getting paid than taking care of customers, so it's not like I'd even give them a second chance and hope that it goes better with a different masseuse. I really enjoyed my massagee here. The name implies just what it says--its just massages. No other treatments. With that said, I prefer massages at traditional spas (so I can relax afterwards), but if you want a good massage that's quick and affordable, then this is your place. They are nice and friendly and the massages are great. The facilities are a bit small, but its very clean, and the customer service meets my standards and expectations. This place is great! I often make same day appointments and can sometimes make my appointment for within the hour. If you want a deep tissue massage, ask for "Jet". She is wonderful. But if you want a DEEP tissue massage that you are GUARANTEED to LOVE, ask for "Odette". SHE IS MY FAVORITE! You wont find a sauna or any spa amenities here but you will receive quality! The receptionist needs a personality make-over. Saturday was my first time going there, when the receptionist came from the back, she had a very angry look on her face, never said hello, but I said, HI, HOW ARE YOU! then she seemed to loosen up a bit, but that's truly no way to greet customers with an angry look. If you're not in a good mood, stay home. As for the massage, if you ask me to fill out a form to tell you what area I need most attention to, then that's what I expect. I got Julia. The massage started out ok, but then she put too much focus on one area trying to work out a kink, instead of focusing on the area I really needed massaged and she ended up aggravating the muscle in my back, even after I told her to move away from that area, she did for like 15 seconds and went right back to it, I then told her to work the other side, she did for about a minute and went back to the other side. I was quite annoyed by this time. She spent entirely too much time on one area so when she got to my arms and legs and shoulders which is what I really needed massaged, she didn't have enough time to give them the attention they needed. Her pressure points were average, but I wish she would listen to the customer. My girlfriend had a massage as well by someone else and the next day she was extremely sore. She also had to tell her massage lady to ease up but for some reason they seem to just ignore what you say, almost to the point where you want to just get up and say, forget it, and leave!
