I walked in and everything was spotless, the front desk was genuinely cheerful (not fake nice), and even the waiting area was actually enjoyable to sit in--which says a lot for a smog shop. Despite still being only single-digit old, my car is at that age where I received the first Smog check notice on my DMV renewal form. Of course I knew exactly where to take him to get the smog check done - Just Smogs! Setting up an appt. was easy - I was able to book one for the following morning - over the phone. You don't need an appt., but I didn't want to risk a long wait since I came on a holiday. Was in and out in about 20 minutes, and had the paper certificate in hand to take to AAA. Just Smogs will also electronically submit the results to DMV, if you're going to renew through DMV. Danny (the owner) has definitely upgraded his lobby since almost a decade ago when I was last here with my old VW. The aquarium is still missing fish (lol), but there's a big screen TV, more seating and reading material, charging station, coffee machine & water setup, as well as a sort of a museum of older trinkets and antiques. They even sell wipers and smog candy! Amusing way to pass time while waiting for your service to be done. Cost ranges from $54 to $60 ish dollars - there's a $5 off coupon on their website, but Yelp check-in gets you $12 off (as of this posting, subject to change). Still, a great value when you take into account the cleaner, modern facility, spacious and interesting waiting area, friendly team. I always go here to get my smog check. People here are really friendly and if you make an appointment they are pretty quick.

Free drinks. clean bathroom. Bamboo toilet paper. chargers for phones. Waiting area is clean, quaint, and comfortable. It can get warm but fans helps to keep area comfortable. Yelp $12 off coupon is a big plus. Mitch was polite and professional. Will return. For now older cars or car that have not been driven a lot use a OBD ll to make sure you pass before taking it in to test. read more

First time I came here and didn't have appointment. The wait was close to an hour. It wasn't bad because that's how long it take other places too. Last Friday, I went in to get my car smog test for my renewal. I liked that I was able to schedule an appt online. When I checked in, the staff was nice. He had me sign a couple of forms, handed my dmv renewal and car key. I didn't have to wait that long. Probably 30-40 mins. I paid after everything was done. Would I go back? Yes. Great people, great experience! I have a 2nd Gen Prius, the one that always get their cat-converters stolen, so I bought a Miller Cat shield, and went to Just Smogs to get it installed. Everyone was friendly and chill, and the waiting room actually felt like someone's comfortable living room. Install was flawless, they explained several things that I didn't realize I needed to know, and I left with a smile. Went back a year later to get my smog check. I paid my car registration back in September 2024, and just noticed earlier this week I never received my license plate sticker. Went to AAA DMV services desk to clear up my car registration. They informed me that DMV didn't send my sticker because I still needed to do a smog check on my 10 year old MB E350. I just recently moved to Huntington Beach. So I found Just Smogs online, scheduled appointment online via their website, and drove right over. In all my years on this planet, Just Smogs is the BEST smog check place I've ever been to in my life. Lots of customers in their waiting room. The owner personally checked me in. He was so nice, personable, and treated me so well! His place is the best decorated smog check place I've ever been to. The interior is so nicely done with an automotive motif. The reason I came here the 1rst time 2 yrs ago was the fact they knew how to remove the covers off my Porsche Cayman engine...it's a hassle. So I figured I'd return to use them again. I scheduled it for 9:20 am and they were literally done by 9:30 am...I was out the door by 9:35 am. The reason it was done so fast was that they didn't need to remove the cover since I was a returning customer. I was in the back watching the tech perform the test and talking to another person by the name of John. Both were personable. I also had a coupon for $5.00 off which they had mailed to me. I'll definitely, continue use them and will mostly like be here again in Sept when my MBZ is due for a smog check. read more
