I've almost never had to wait longer than 15 minutes to get my cars smogged and, with newer vehicles, the process is getting quicker so they can get through cars faster now. My check only took about 10 minutes and I probably talked to the owner longer after he was done. I will continue to get my cars smogged here since there's no reason to look elsewhere.

Based on yelp reviews, I narrowed down 2 locations based on customer service and price. The first location I called had a prerecorded message. Then I called the Smog Depot and it went to voicemail.. a few seconds later, I get a call back from Joey - who confirmed his availability for a smog! Pros based on other local business reviews: - Live person running the business - others seemed automated/impersonal - $55 for smog, I think that was the lowest I could find. Add'l fee for card payment processing - He has a waiting room Also, my tire sensor light has historically been on... some kind of glitch. Joey still checked my tire pressure (which is so appreciated since I am horrible at remembering to check)... he also identified the sensor issue, where previous service providers have tried to use the tire light as an up sale on a fake "issue". I wanted to highlight this as someone who appreciates good people and local companies. By the time I left he had 2 other customers patiently waiting - I hope customers continue to support Joeys local business!

Just moved to Huntington Beach and found this Gem of a place…read more BEST price around you cant beat their price of $49. waiting room isn't anything fancy but why would you need it to be. Got two cars done in one day and couldn't be happier. I have a friend who owns a smog place and they charge nearly double and he says its because they are stilll paying for the new fancy smog test machine, So anyone charging over $50 is trying to pay off their machine. No need to pay anymore than that for a test that takes $15 minutes if you take care of your car. Hope this helps.

First of all, they do tires beside oil changes, so that can easily remove anything "jiffy" about the process. It took about an hour to get my oil changed, and there was only one car in the shop when I came in. The worst part was the woman at the desk. "Tracy L.", according to my receipt. Clear "don't care" attitude. To while away all my waiting time, I checked to see if they had wi-fi so I could use my cellphone during the long wait without burning up cell data. Yep, they have guest wi-fi. Of course, they have it set up to require a password. What exactly is the point of a password for a public wi-fi? Anyway, I asked the woman for the password. Nope, don't have it, no idea what it might be, don't care. It took about an hour to get my oil changed. If you're going to provide public guest wi-fi (thanks), you might provide the password to your employees so customers can actually use it while waiting.
