I decided to go and give Just Smogs a chance due to the increase. Well... this time with a different car, I went online to see if I could find any discounts. I found one here with Easy Smogs, I made an appointment. When dropping off I met a nice big smiled gentleman named Jamal. We began talking as he set up my service paperwork. He is nice, well spoken, and a genuine down to earth dude. The funny part is Jamal worked on two of my vehicles at his prior job location before purchasing Easy Smog. With that being said, if you need a Smog Test for your vehicle Jamal with Easy Smog is the place to go in the HB area. They know what they are doing and get the job done right. I expect any shop to tell me the drive cycle isn't complete and come back after driving the car more instead of wasting 35 minutes and charging me for a test that was doomed from the start. He also did not give me an estimate before starting, which is required by BAR. So I paid $70, wasted my time, got an avoidable failed smog test on the car's record, and still had to get it tested again somewhere else. I would've been happy with being charged and then offered a free retest but there was no such offer. From my point of view, the whole thing felt like a charade to get my money. To make it worse, he asked me to take a picture and write a Google review before I even knew the result of the test. Looking back, that feels pretty shady too. I would not come back here.

I've almost never had to wait longer than 15 minutes to get my cars smogged and, with newer vehicles, the process is getting quicker so they can get through cars faster now. My check only took about 10 minutes and I probably talked to the owner longer after he was done. I will continue to get my cars smogged here since there's no reason to look elsewhere.

Add'l fee for card payment processing - He has a waiting room Also, my tire sensor light has historically been on... some kind of glitch. Joey still checked my tire pressure (which is so appreciated since I am horrible at remembering to check)... he also identified the sensor issue, where previous service providers have tried to use the tire light as an up sale on a fake "issue". I wanted to highlight this as someone who appreciates good people and local companies. My wife needed to get her car smog checked in order to get her car registration completed. I called…read moreat 1PM on a Wednesday asking if I needed to set up an appointment. The attendant picked up the phone and let me know that there was no appointment needed and to just come in. Came over immediately and they were able to get the car into a service station right after I pulled up. 20 minutes later I had a copy of the smog certification but also the attendant let me know that a copy had already been sent to the DMW. Super thankful for that service! The only con was that since the building was part of a gas station, there wasn't a lot of waiting seats. I stood for 20 minutes and was really thankful for good knees haha! Will definitely be back for when my car needs to get smog check.
