Disappointed in our experience at Theo's. We dined on a Wednesday night- our anniversary diner. The waiter never introduced himself or made us feel special. We were seated upstairs and each table seemed to show frustration or disappointment in the service. Drinks were slow to arrive, the feeling did not give high end special steak house. Our bbq shrimp app was very good. However My steak Oscar was sub par, the asparagus was chewy the sauce was cold. I would not return or recommend. We dined there on a chilly, rainy February evening (in a mostly deserted St. Michaels Main Street), and it was the perfect place for a cozy birthday dinner. My husband and I shared the Chateaubriand (with asparagus and roasted parm potatoes) for two with a bottle of Pinot noir, Caesar salad and desserts. It was a bit noisy with a large group in the bar, but the owner has added some acoustical ceiling panels and a drapery to help. The fireplace heated the room nicely and provided great ambience. Chance was our server and he was very knowledgeable, pleasant to talk with and attentive, but not overly so, which was nice for quiet conversation. The food was delicious and just the right amount. I might have preferred a dollop of whipped potatoes instead of the roasted slices, but overall a lovely. Thank you! We'll be back again soon. read more

We never leave disappointed! Theo's has provided us with delectable cuisine since we started coming here by boat (2003). Service here is always good. Some nights, like tonight, it is seriously incredible. Thank you so much to Caroline for her efficiency and kindness. It is easy to reserve a table using "open table" or calling. Amazing dinner experience. Chance introduced all of the house specials that had us anticipating our courses. I had the Roquefort tenderloins and my husband had the shrimp and grits. One thing about St. Michaels ... it is hard to find a good meal later than 9:00! Yelp led us to this restaurant, just because of the sheer fact that they had later hours but this truly ended up being a hidden gem. Service was amazing and the ancho old fashioned was to die for. The boy who absolutely LOVES Thanksgiving dinner food was absolutely overjoyed to find a full turkey day platter complete with all the fixings on the menu. It truly made his week. I went for the grilled rockfish with crabmeat (when in Rome...) and loved every single bite of it. The staff is super upbeat, friendly, and happy to be there. We celebrated our anniversary there this evening & it did not disappoint. Our waiter, Chance, is the ultimate professional. He is attentive but not disturbing. He makes recommendations and has always been spot on. He happily answers any questions you may have about the menu. The atmosphere in the restaurant is upscale but not stuffy. The entire staff is friendly. We ordered Caesar salad and shrimp cocktail, the Filet Mignon with a side of truffle fries. Everything was expertly prepared and delicious. My wife and I dined here on a late summer Wednesday evening. They aren't open every evening if the week so check ahead of time. Also probably wise to get a reservation although if you went before 6pm like we did you could probably get in. There is limited parking behind the restaurant as well as street parking. The public lots are probably a couple block walk away. We were seated on the first floor in the back dining room. We could see the full size bar and lots of people enjoying happy hour with $2 off all drinks. The dining room was pleasant with super comfy chairs and plenty of room. My got an old fashion from the HH menu while I got a glass of cab. For starters, we got the bread basket and shrimp tempura on a stick drizzled with a chipotle sauce. Our favorite was the warm garlic knots in the bread basket but the shrimp was also enjoyable. I had my sites set on a nice thick steak but got sidetracked by their Thanksgiving 365 entree. I couldn't resist and enjoyed turkey, stuffing, gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes and cranberries. I was transported to late November. Yummy. My wife chose their crab cake. The crab cake was more of a ball shape but enjoyable none the less. She actually enjoyed the accompanying corn and cooked tomatoes more. We skipped dessert here to grab a cone down the street. Date of visit: July 24, 2024 We were staying at a nearby resort for a few days and so our son bought us a $100 gift card here based on his experience with Theo's 7 years ago. What a cute place and we were seated by the window, which was wonderful. We ordered a Cosmo and Old Fashioned first. They were excellent. We ordered the fried pickles as an appetizer... they were spears, which was interesting and delicious. Then we saw that on Wednesday nights there is a Steak Diane special. For $45 you get two melt in your mouth filets with sauteed button mushrooms in a red wine demi glaze sauce, homemade silky mashed potatoes, huge Caesar salad and an incredible cheesecake with creme brulee topping (one went home with us!). It became apparent that it was a "no brainer" to order the special. Two glasses of the red house wine accompanied dinner so well. What a wonderful house wine! We were glad that we did and we will be back if ever in the area again. read more

My Girl and me are from Los Angeles and are well used to eat in high rated restaurants, especially steakhouses. After completing an Ironman race (Eagleman) at a neighboring town we were looking for a good restaurant. I looked up a steakhouse close by (20 minutes) and we headed there using Uber to celebrate our race's completion. The people working at this restaurant were super nice but the highlight was a perfectly done Ribeye that both my girl and me ordered! It was cooked to perfection and both of us eliminated it in no time :) by Definition it was one of the Best Steaks we both ever had. When we decided to go back to our hotel, we realized that there was no Uber available, no Taxi and no public transportation available. We were literally stuck there while the restaurant was closing. We asked for the crew's help and they really tried. They called everyone they thought that might help but nothing.. After few minutes just before they had to lockup the place, a Very nice guy stepped out of the kitchen and asked us where exactly we need to go. We told him and he offered to take us to our hotel. Only during the ride we discovered that Chris - is actually the owner of the restaurant. He literally saved us this night. We Highly Recommend Theo's for the amazing food, the great atmosphere, the great Service and most importantly cause people like Chris Deserves it. Not sure if ill ever find myself again in this part of the country But... if I did.. I'll definitely go to Theo's again! And... while visiting Saint Michael.. We made a special trip to this particular restaurant because of a solid experience the year before and what a let down for a second visit. Service: Slow like really really slow. Everything took an extended time, getting a drink, getting bread, all the way to asking for the bill and waiting. Food: overall the food was good and they do a good job with that. I'm not sure if they're having staffing issues, but the waitress seemed to be MIA most of the night and very frazzled every time she came to the table. The oysters with Parmesan cheese was too cooked and over cheesy took away from the flavor of the oysters but the tempura shrimps were cooked perfectly and the seasonings were well balanced. Our dinner experience was terrific! This is one of those spots that was so good that there really isn't much to say. The bread basket was delicious, red wine selection was good. We both ordered the Filet Mignon with Truffle Fries and Brussel Sprouts. We could tell that the food was freshly prepared because everything was so piping hot. The New Orleans BBQ Shrimp was delicious too. We love documenting our travels and foodie adventures so even after spending about 5 minutes taking videos and pictures of our food, the truffle fries were still hot! Very impressive. The filet mignon was just a tad bit overcooked (we requested medium well) but it was so so good. The Brussel Sprouts were very delicious. Portions were not small at all. We were in town for a birthday trip and took our mom to Theo's for dinner. Our server, Deborah, made our entire experience delightful. She was charming and helpful as we decided on our meal choices. We had such a great experience here! The staff is friendly and helpful upon entering the restaurant. Our server, Charmaine, was friendly, prompt, knowledgeable about the menu, and super personable! Every single thing we ordered was delicious. Their bread basket is impressive and so yummy. My husband got the Sunday dinner which is their meatloaf entree. The price is reduced to $12 on Sundays. It was SO good! I got a Caesar salad with steak and it was delicious. Theo's cooks your steak exactly as ordered! I only wish we had larger appetites during our visit as the happy hour menu is honored throughout the restaurant with great prices and selections. We were told the BBQ shrimp is to die for and that was on happy hour but we were still slightly full from our lunch. food was okay but very expensive. 3 stars is for the service. it was lacking. if you are going to sit people outside, you can't forget they are there. the waiter never came to see how our food was and wasn't around if we needed anything. After a long time, I had to go inside to find our waiter to get the check. couldn't find the waiter, or the hostess or the manager. the bartender was the only one around who said she'd help us get the check. I know the waiter was working tables in and out but you can't forget the people who are outside. Paying over$60 for a steak and never seeing your waiter again is unacceptable. read more

This was our best surprise restaurant of our trip. We were spending a long weekend with a group of friend (8-10 depending on the day) and navigating a large group with many restaurants in the area not taking reservations was hard. a last minute change in plans had us scrambling to Yelp for an alternative and Theos hit the mark. A small place a converted home I think with front porch dinning.. They normally stop taking orders for the kitchen at 8 and we were walking in with 10 minutes to spare.. I'm saying this because of the exceptional service we received even being "that table" that closes the restaurant an hour later than it should. The service was outstanding- friendly wait staff did everything possible to make our visit exceptional . We were seated upstairs in a large open room with just our loud noisy group which made our experience (and everyone else's) great! The food was great! The French onion soup is a standout.. the steak tasted dry aged and was an unexpected surprise for the price (not cheap at $60 but also not what a great dry aged steak usually costs) . Everything you'd expect from a top tier steak house What should have been an unpleasant night eating bad hotel food turned out to be our best dinner in St Michael's .. :). read more

Stumbled across this place by chance, when the unmentioned restaurant across the street decided they were done seating people at 730pm, and I'm glad we did! The food, the service, and the ambiance were all amazing. For food, we had a shrimp appetizer special that was served on a Himalayan salt block, the Caesar salad, and the Chateaubriand for two. The steak was cooked perfectly and the potatoes were crispy and delicious. Not sure if I'll make it back to St. Michael's anytime soon, but if I do this place is worth a repeat. I look forward to trying out one of their other locations. Also, shout out to the servers/hostess for running next door to their sister restaurant in a torrential downpour in order to grab a beer that they were out of! read more
