I was told money on the door get first dibs. I'm a man of my word, so that rubbed me the wrong way. Other than that, I have to say they made the process relatively easy. They worked with me to get the best deal possible. I was in a rush to get out the door after doing the paper work. They needed to take care of somethings on the car to ensure it was in tip top shape. Back in June 2019 I noticed a setting on my car called My Key which wouldn't allow me to drive over a certain mph and I couldn't take the radio up. I contacted Expert Auto and they were clueless so I did some research online and contacted Ford and found out the key they had given me basically had "settings" on it and to remove the My Key feature I needed the administrative key which the dealership kept until my hard tags where there. So I made the trip from Rockville md to Temple Hills Md mind you After work and in rush hour traffic just for them to have to put my 2nd key, that "administrative" key in the ignition to remove the my key setting. But wait there's more, new years eve I drive as normal go to work and come home. New Years day I don't drive at all mainly because Im still hung over . January 2nd I am scheduled back to work at 8am as the normal routine must continue. I usher my kids out the house and into the car to drop them off and the damn car wont turn over to crank. Eventually, I was told the truck I traveled there for had already been sold. What makes this even more frustrating is that the truck is still listed as available on the dealership's website, even though I was told it had already been sold. As of the time I'm writing this review, the listing remains active. I ended up wasting roughly six hours of driving, fuel, and valuable personal time for a vehicle that I was told was available before I made the trip. Fortunately, I purchased a truck from another dealership, where the process was straightforward and professional. My advice to anyone considering AMKO Auto is to be extremely cautious before traveling a long distance. If you're making a special trip for a specific vehicle, get written confirmation that the vehicle is physically on the lot and available for purchase before you leave home. From the very beginning, the experience was unacceptable. The vehicle had several issues at the time of purchase, and I was told they would be addressed the following morning. When I arrived after 12 PM the next day, the van had not even been touched. I waited over four hours, and nothing was repaired. One of the main issues was with the air conditioning (AC). Because it happened to be raining and cooler outside that day, the AC seemed to function better temporarily. The dealership falsely claimed they had fixed the problem. The very next day, when I drove the van, the AC failed again. I took it to a mechanic, who discovered a cracked hose that needed replacement--an issue not covered under warranty. As a result, I had to pay out of pocket just two days after purchasing the vehicle. The problems didn't stop there. After my temporary license plate expired, I was told the van had to be re-inspected before I could receive another temporary tag. On September 10, the dealership claimed they had my permanent plates and would pick up the van to install them, perform an alignment, and fill the gas tank as an "apology" for the inconvenience. They collected the van in the morning, but by 7 PM I had heard nothing. The manager pretended he had been trying to contact me when, in reality, I had received no updates. I had to threaten to come to the dealership in person before they finally returned my van that evening--with no alignment, no gas, and still no permanent tags. I was promised that my plates would be delivered on September 11, but again, I received no communication. I did not get my tags until September 25--a full five months after my original purchase. During this time, I lost business contracts because I was unable to operate legally without proper registration. This dealership is the worst, most unprofessional business I have ever dealt with. They are dishonest, unreliable, and provide no meaningful customer service or accountability. As reflected in my text message records, I had to chase them for every update and was consistently misled. I am now seeking legal counsel due to the financial and professional harm caused by their negligence. Be extremely cautious before doing business here.
